White bouncer described his black killer before dying * Bouncer killed during fight at Blaine bar  As he lay on the floor bleeding, investigators say Greg Klaers, a 24-year-old bouncer at a sports bar in Blaine, gave a denoscription to police and others of the man who had just stabbed him. "He was clutching his abdomen and he was telling bar personnel and an officer that responded that it was a guy in an orange shirt." Klaers was stabbed during a series of large fights at the Time Out bar and restaurant shortly before closing time, early Friday morning. He was taken to a hospital and died a few hours later. Upon hearing Klaers' dying declaration, officers and bar personnel looked around the bar and noticed a man in an orange shirt quickly leaving. Behind the bar, police arrested 34-year-old Malachi Andrews. Investigators say, at the time of his arrest, Andrews had an orange shirt in his hand. A few feet away, investigators found what they believe to be the murder weapon. "[Police] followed [the suspect's] footprints and they found, near a light pole a knife which appeared to have just been set on the fresh snow, next to the light pole," said Kish. Tuesday morning, Anoka County prosecutors charged Andrews with second-degree murder. They also charged two other men, Charles Gregory Andrews and Johnny Royce Hunter of Hopkins with second-degree assault for allegedly hitting others over the head with bottles during the bar fight. Williamsport Negro Charged with Rape of 12-year-old Girl A Williamsport man was arrested on Christmas morning on charges that he sexually assaulted a child. Williamsport police say Shaun Cormier, 20, is accused of raping a 12-year-old girl on Sunday. The victim said the assault happened at a home that she and a friend went to around 4 p.m. The girl's friend, a 14-year-old girl, said the two went to the home to meet with a man they knew as "Rock" and his cousin, whose name they did not know. The cousin was later determined to be Cormier. When the girls arrived, "Rock" was not home, but Cormier asked them to come inside. Cormier allegedly forced the younger girl into a bedroom and assaulted her. The 14-year-old told police she heard her friend scream for help from the next room. Cormier faces numerous charges in connection with the alleged assault. - (Newsroom) - (crime) |
Black demon suspect in white teen's rape, death arraigned  The man accused of raping and killing a 16-year-old Sparks high school student was in court to enter a plea in a different case on separate charges: that he raped a University of Nevada, Reno student two weeks before the slaying. Tamir Hamilton, 28, stood silent during his arraignment on the burglary and sexual assault charges, so Judge Connie Steinheimer entered a not guilty plea for him. Hamilton is being held in the Washoe County Jail without bail. Holly Jean Quick, a High School sophomore, was found dead in her bedroom by her mother early in the morning of Sept. 15. She had been sexually assaulted. Hamilton, an acquaintance of the Quick family, was arrested on suspicion following a tip to police. In an interview with police, Hamilton said he had been drunk and was on cocaine the night before Quick was found dead and had visited Quick at her apartment. He said he could only remember talking with Quick on her bed. Hamilton also was indicted by a Washoe County grand jury on burglary and sexual assault charges for allegedly attacking a 20-year-old UNR student Aug. 31. 4 Men Charged In Quadruple Shooting  KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Clay County prosecutors charged four men in connection with a quadruple shooting earlier this week in a home. Prosecutors charged Prentiss R. Fulton, Jr., 25, Lark E. Gardner Jr., 23, and Kelly L. Yow, 30, with first-degree robbery and two counts of second-degree murder. A fourth man, Dennis D. Jones, 25, was charged with first-degree robbery. The shooting occurred Monday when the four suspects went to a house with the intent of committing a robbery. Jones later told police he waited in the getaway car with Yow while Fulton and Gardner went into the home. White said he didn't know what prompted the suspects to shoot the four people -- three of them in the head. Patrick J. Hooten, 22, was dead when emergency workers arrived, and Angela Windle, 18, died later at a hospital. Two other victims remained hospitalized Friday. Later in the getaway vehicle, White said Gardner was shot in the face and described Gardner's condition as "not good." Police hope video and reward will help catch black killer of White 'good Samaritan'   There are possible new clues that could help catch a killer. Humble police release surveillance video, which will hopefully lead them to the person who murdered a hero. That hero, Steven Jackson, is a former volunteer firefighter. He was gunned down earlier this month while trying to stop a robbery. Police are plastering wanted posters all over town. They believe the man they're looking for committed a total of six robberies at two different Shell stations since September and then killed Jackson.
Surveillance video from one of the robberies was released on Tuesday. It happened at a Shell station on 2920 in Spring back in November. In the video, the man walks into the store, concealing his gun with a newspaper. He then confronted the clerk and demanded cash. He got away with two sacks of money.
Police believe it is just that type of robbery that Jackson stumbled upon when he was driving home earlier this month. Camden Police Search For Suspect In Officer's Shooting - his Mother fingered him   A Camden City police officer was shot Friday after responding to a call of a man with a gun on Bailey Street, police said. The 34-year-old officer was listed in good condition and expected to make a full recovery. Meanwhile, a woman came forward after the shooting and told police the alleged gunman was her son. Investigators later identified Ahmad Cherry, 22, as a suspect in the shooting and said they were searching for him. The shooting occurred after a 5:27 p.m. call of a man with a gun near a vacant lot. Officers responding to the call spotted the man as he ducked into an alley behind nearby homes. "Our officers continued pursuit and were ambushed, actually, in the alleyway," said Arturo Venegas of the police department. The gunman turned and allegedly fired five to eight shots. Police said they did not return fire. Officer Dan Vaultier was struck in both legs, police said, but Venegas said doctors called it "a clean shot through -- no vein or bone damage. Within minutes, police launched a massive search for the gunman who got away. Capt. Joseph F. Houston: Suspected rapist found hiding in bathroom - now behind bars  Police let him slip out of their hands once, but now say they got their man with an arrest late Thursday afternoon. According to police, they got credible information that ultimately led them to the alleged rapist. Edwin Broussard was brought to HPD’s central command station to be booked on charges of aggravated sexual assault. Police say Broussard was hiding out at a friend’s apartment off of Uvalde. At 3:15 p.m. Thursday, officers kicked in the door and found him inside the bathroom. Police had been looking for the suspect for days after a strange twist of fate may have let him out of custody. His alleged victim told her harrowing story to investigators. A brutal rape was committed around 6 a.m. Saturday morning. It was still dark out when a woman was raped at gunpoint in a vacant lot. A few minutes after the attack, police pulled someone over for a traffic violation just a couple blocks away. Police now believe that man, 22-year-old Edwin Broussard, committed the rape. Police: Celestino Herrera caught masterbating outside 5-year-old girl's window - also had handcuffs  A man in Orange County, Fla., who was taken into custody on suspicion he was touching himself outside 5-year-old girl's window had a pair of handcuffs in his possession, according to a police report. Tuesday night, a heavy Hispanic man was spotted by a neighbor standing outside an apartment unit on South Semoran Boulevard in Orange County, Fla. The witness said the man was apparently masturbating at the window. The witness said when he noticed the man trying to break into the window of a girl's bedroom he intervened and the man fled on foot. When officers arrived, a parent of the girl said the child reported seeing the man outside her window fondling himself. Prosecutor Calls Children's Deaths 'Human Sacrifices' SAN FRANCISCO -- "God told LaShuan Harris to make a human sacrifice and she chose to kill her three children instead of herself, a fact that makes her guilty of murder", a prosecutor said during closing arguments Wednesday. Prosecutor Linda Allen asked the jury to use their heads, not their hearts, to determine the fate of the mentally ill Oakland woman who threw her three children into San Francisco Bay last year. "I don't expect you to have a cold heart, but to have a rational mind," Allen said. Harris, 24, has pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity to three counts of murder in the deaths of 6-year-old Trayshawn Harris, 2-year-old Taronta Greely, Jr., and 16-month-old Joshua Greely. All three were tossed over a railing into the cold waters of the bay. Black killer of White debutante flips off judge at sentencing  SAVANNAH, Georgia (Court TV) -- An unrepentant black man gave the middle finger to a judge who sentenced him to life in prison plus 40 years for the shooting death of a Savannah debutante during a botched robbery. Michael Thorpe, 26, gestured and shouted "F--- democracy!" as deputies led him Saturday from the courtroom where Chatham County Superior Court Judge Penny Haas Freeseman sentenced him for shooting Jennifer Ross on Christmas Eve 2005. Ross, a 19-year-old Mercer University student who had attended her debutante ball earlier that evening, died on the operating table one week later from a sudden ruptured artery. Police Ask For Help To Find Convicted Molester  Indianapolis police continue to search for a man in connection with a child molestation case. Frederick B. Gregg faces two counts of child molestation stemming from a June 2005 incident involving a 9-year-old girl. Police said that at the time of that incident, Gregg was on probation from a previous child-molesting case and had been ordered to stay away from children. Gregg is 44 years old. DNA links evil Negro to rape and murder of 18-year-old White woman   Almost 16 years ago, a worker clearing ice from Highway W found the partly clothed body of 18-year-old Stephanie Hogland facedown in a ditch. She had been bludgeoned to death. Investigators announced an arrest in the case — saying it is the oldest case matched by DNA in the state lab. Michael Edward Dowell, 44, was charged Friday with first-degree murder, armed criminal action and forcible rape. He had submitted a DNA sample on Oct. 30 as part of his probation for an unrelated assault case in St. Louis. On Nov. 30, the Missouri Highway Patrol's crime lab reported it had a match. Police seek suspect in child's rape Louisville Metro Police are asking for your help in tracking down a rape suspect. Officers say 40 year old David P. Wheatley is accused of raping a 10 year old girl. Wheatley is charged with two counts each of first-degree rape, sodomy, sexual abuse and attempted rape. The charges stem from several attacks that took place more than a year ago. Police began their investigation in July after a victim told a counselor what happened to her. While a contracted worker for the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services spoke with a new father, a baby lay dying in a crib nearby. When the father insisted the baby was sleeping and could not be disturbed, the worker left without examining 5-month-old Kwayera Jackson Jr. The boy was bleeding internally from a beating to his stomach and head. Smiling Black pleads not guilty to running down a white family in McDonald's parking lot - killing 2-year-old   The black man accused of running down five white family members and killing a 2-year-old girl in the parking lot of a McDonald's restaurant in Covington last May pleaded not guilty. Lanny Perry Barnes, 46, attended the 15-minute arraignment hearing wearing street clothes and no expression on his face. Sitting behind him was Stephanie Casola, the mother who was hit, along with her two sons, niece, and sister, by Barnes' vehicle. Witnesses told police that Barnes struck the family, backed up, smiled, and drove into them again. Casola's niece, Avery King, died of her injuries. Skull Found in creek ID'd as 5-year-old White girl Emily Rimel - kidnaped, raped and murdered by black   A skull found in a creek earlier this week has been identified as that of a five-year-old columbus-area girl who disappeared a year and a-half ago. Investigators have identified the remains of Emily Rimel through DNA. Emily was last seen at her home early in the morning on December 7th, 2004. Two people fishing found the skull on Tuesday. The Coroner ays there was trauma to the skull. With confirmation that the remains are those of Emily Rimel, the prosecutor's office can move ahead with plans to seek murder charges against the main suspect. Lindsay Bruce, is serving a 10-year sentence after he was convicted of kidnapping Rimel in December 2004. At the time, Bruce was not charged with murder. While Ohio law does not require the presence of a corpse to charge someone in a homicide, doing so without a body does raise the chances that a jury could acquit. O'Brien says this could easily become a death penalty case based on several factors, including Rimel's age. Over the next few weeks, reports will be written state crime lab investigators and the county coroner's office. Black Sex Offender Charged With Kidnap-Rape-Kill of White 11-year-old Jacksonville Girl In 1996  Fla. -- A Connecticut sex offender will be returned to Florida to face a murder charge after being linked to the decade-old rape and drowning of an 11-year-old girl through a database of DNA from convicted sex offenders. Robert Shelton Mitchell, 43, was being held on a $5 million bond after being arraigned as a fugitive. He will face first-degree murder and capital sexual battery charges in the death of Cherie Morrisette of Jacksonville. The Mandarin Middle School student body was found on Dec. 8, 1996, floating in the St. John's River about 10 miles south of the apartment she shared with her mother and sister. An autopsy determined that Cherie drowned shortly after her disappearance on Dec. 2, 1996, and was alive when she either fell into the river or was thrown in. Police labeled the death suspicious, and authorities found a small DNA sample on her underwear and body. Mitchell lived in nearby Middleburg at the time of the girl's death, police said Thursday.
