(Black) Chico man sentenced to more than 25 years state prison for attack, shooting OROVILLE, CA >> A Chico man was sentenced Wednesday to 25 years, eight months in state prison for a May 2013 stabbing and a shooting last January. Butte County Superior Court Judge James Reilley handed down the upper-term sentence on Anthony Lavel Zeigler, 25. On June 13, a jury convicted Zeigler of felony assault with a deadly weapon likely to produce great bodily injury for a stabbing outside a Wall Street nightclub on May 18, 2013, in Chico. The jury also found Zeigler guilty of felony assault with a semiautomatic firearm likely to cause great bodily injury for a Jan. 18 shooting on the 100 block of Broadway. - (Norcal) |
Three Blacks Charged In Brutal Contra Costa County Sex Trafficking Ring PITTSBURG — Three Northern California men are facing charges in what prosecutors say was a brutal sex trafficking ring in which women were raped and beaten and one was branded with a clothes iron. Contra Costa County prosecutors on Thursday charged Eric Beman, Roy Gordon and Derrick Harper with conspiracy to commit human trafficking, torture, mayhem and kidnapping for extortion. Prosecutor Mary Knox says the men, all from Pittsburg, used force to keep at least three women in their late teens and early 20s in their prostitution ring. Knox says the men would shave the women’s heads with butcher knives and clippers as punishment. One woman has a scarred leg after allegedly being burned with an iron. Packs of Feral Teens ‘Wilding’ Force San Leandro Police To Formulate New Game Plan SAN LEANDRO — Police in San Leandro are formulating a game plan to deal with large groups of teens carrying out attacks in what they are calling ‘wilding.’ Over the weekend, dozens of tens got more than rowdy at the Bay Fair Mall food court. “It was a lot of commotion. Police were up here and then the security guard was trying to get them up off the premises,” Marcel Robinson, a witness to the ruckus said. Police tried to break up the group, but they ended up running back and forth from the mall and the Bay Fair BART station. “They’re using their numbers, their sheer numbers to intimidate, to assault, to rob other people, and it’s pretty scary,” Lt. Rick DeCosta of the San Leandro police department said. At one point in the incident, a teenager shot himself in the foot trying to get away. The group surrounded a young boy in the Bank of America parking lot and beat him for his shoes and phone. “To gang up on a kid and take their shoes, I think that’s wrong,” San Leandro resident Lavon Haymon said. The most recent incident in San Leandro included a group of teens surrounding a car and attacking the adults inside, trying to steal it with a small child in the back seat. - (Norcal) |
Two blacks arrested in slaying of White woman dogwalker   OAKLAND, Calif. — Two suspects have been arrested in the Oakland slaying of beloved dog walker who was killed last July as she drove down an East Oakland street, authorities announced Thursday. The Alameda County District Attorney's Office filed murder charges against Stephon Lee and 21-year-old Mario Floyd in the death of 66-year-old Judy Salamon. Prosecutors also charged them with the special circumstance of committing a murder during the course of a robbery. Oakland police said in a probable cause statement that Lee and Floyd argued with Salamon over her cellphone. She allegedly videotaped a crime being committed on her cellphone. Police said witnesses identified Lee as the man who shot Salamon and Floyd as the man who drove the suspects' car before and after the fatal shooting. - (Black-on-white) - (Norcal) |

I-80 Rapist Victim Convinced North Sacramento Subway Attacker Is Same Man March 29, 2014 - SACRAMENTO COUNTY — Investigators are looking to see if a Sacramento man accused of tying up and sexually assaulting a co-worker at a North Sacramento Subway is the Interstate 80 serial rapist. Kenneth Anderson, 22, was arrested on Friday by Sacramento County Sheriff’s deputies. One look at a picture of Anderson, and a woman was attacked in September by a man believed to be the Interstate 80 rapist has little doubt he’s the same man. “You’ll never forget a face like that,” she said. She was beaten and raped as she walked to work at 4:30 a.m. Seven months later, the fear that her attacker is still on the loose may be coming to an end. “It’s just a feeling that you get when you’ve been raped once, you’ve been raped by somebody, it’s just in your guy, like when you see that person, you just know that’s him,” she said. Hers was the first in a series of sexual assaults in the North Sacramento area, all happen within a four-mile radius near Interstate 80 and Watt Avenue. - (Norcal) |

Mannot Lusca was flown in from Atwater Federal Prison in California, where he was being held on a federal cocaine conviction. She had been beaten and tied up in Palo Alto, then driven in her own car to a deserted Santa Clara schoolyard where she was beaten again and then raped. The man responsible had his hands around her neck. But the brutal attack ended as suddenly as it began. The man abruptly removed his hands and began running away. The woman, whose dress had been torn off during the attack, ran in the opposite direction and flagged down a passer-by, who called 911. Police search for black who murdered White man walking his dog with daughter Residents of a quiet Hayward neighborhood had hoped the Thanksgiving holiday would not pass without the arrest of the gunman who took the life of Thomas Cunningham. An American flag waves in the Cunningham front yard over an idle barbecue. The 38-year-old was shot to death just two blocks away while he and his daughter Chelsea, 13, went out for ice cream.
Police believe Cunningham’s dog—walking off leash—sniffed at the shooter moments prior to the gun shots that took his life, a shooting neighbor Chuck Rogers said was “totally uncalled for.” If a person was scared of an animal like that, they could have shot the animal instead of the person,” he said.
Rogers and other neighbors said Cunningham’s dogs are not aggressive.

Sacramento PD looking for black sexual-assault suspect The Sacramento Police Department is looking for a man they suspect of sexually assaulting several minors. A Police Department news release said an arrest warrant accuses Odis Williams (photo), 51, of committing the illegal sexual acts from 2001 to 2009. In July 2009, the Sacramento Police Department was notified by the victims that they had been sexually assaulted by Williams since they were 8 and 9 years old, the release states. The investigation showed that he also sexually assaulted a teenage friend of the victims, the release states. (Black) Cousin of MC Hammer arrested in East Bay on suspicion of rape LIVERMORE — Police have arrested Bigg Marv, a cousin of MC Hammer and a regular on the "Hammertime" TV show, on suspicion of raping a woman he met through Twitter. Marvin Turell Grant was taken into custody about 2 p.m. today in the 7600 block of Erb Street in rural Tracy. He was arrested without incident, police said. Grant, also known as Bigg Marv or Lyin' Marv, had promised to surrender to police this morning and failed to show up. Former UC Berkeley Black Footballer Gets Jail Time for Two Sexual Assaults Former Cal Football player Noah Smith will serve four years in prison after he was found guilty of sexually assaulting two female students while he was a student at UC Berkeley in 2007. Smith, 23, was sentenced Tuesday after being convicted in June of one count of rape, one count of attempted rape and one count of forced oral copulation. He was arrested and charged in May 2007 after a female student reported to police that Smith had forced her to give him oral sex and then raped her in her apartment. Black Arrested in Attempted Apartment Rape A south Sacramento woman used a lamp to fight off an attempted sexual assault early Thursday morning, according to Sacramento police. A suspect, George Everett, 23, was arrested for attempted sexual assault and burglary. Sacramento detectives says Everett entered an apartment sometime before 5:42 a.m. and went into a bedroom where the victim and her 2-month-old child slept. Everett is alleged to have climbed on top of the woman in an attempted rape, say detectives. The woman fought back and grabbed a lamp to hit Everett. He ran out of the apartment. Using apartment complex surveillance video, police obtained an image of Everett and were able to find him still within the perimeter of the complex soon after the attack. - (Newsroom) - (Norcal) |

Black wanted criminal kills 3 White police officers, wounds 4th in Oakland  OAKLAND, Calif. – Authorities in Oakland say suspect Lovelle Mixon was slain in a gunfight with police in which two officers were killed Saturday. Police said another officer was fatally shot earlier in the day and a fourth was gravely wounded after the two of them pulled Mixon over for a traffic stop. Four Oakland police officers were shot in the line of duty Saturday on the streets of Oakland in two separate shootings. Three have died and the forth is clinging to life. Never in the history of any Bay Area police department have so many officers been killed on the same day. Oakland's acting Police Chief Howard Jordan made the grim announcement just after 9 p.m. Saturday. The officers have been identified as 41-year-old John Hege, 40-year-old Mark Dunakin, 43-year-old Ervin Romansa and 35-year-old Daniel Sakai. Hege and Dunakin were traffic cops. Romansa and Sakai were members of the SWAT team. Hege is the officer that remains clinging to life late Saturday. Dunakin, Romansa and Sakai were declared dead. A fifth officer suffered a minor injury in the apartment building. He was treated and released Saturday. The killer was Lovell Mixon, 27, from Oakland. 4th White cop dies; black parolee wanted to avoid prison Oakland -- A fourth Oakland police officer was pronounced dead Sunday in the wake of a shooting rampage by a 26-year-old parolee who, according to family members, knew he was a wanted man and did not want to go back to prison. John Hege, 41, was declared brain dead Sunday morning at Highland Hospital in Oakland and remained on life support to preserve his organs for donation. According to authorities, Lovelle Mixon used a semiautomatic pistol to shoot and kill Hege and Sgt. Mark Dunakin, 40, two motorcycle officers who pulled him over during a routine traffic stop in East Oakland. Less than two hours later, Mixon, who was holed up in his sister's nearby apartment, opened fire with an AK-47 assault rifle, killing SWAT team sergeants Ervin Romans, 43, and Daniel Sakai, 35. Another SWAT team officer, Sgt. Pat Gonzales, was grazed by gunfire and was then treated for his injuries and released. Roman Catholic Priest wanted in Calif. nabbed in Mexico - faces four counts child molestation involving two girls  A fugitive Sacramento priest, who fled the country 17 years ago after allegations he sexually abused two young girls, has been arrested in Mexico and may soon be extradited to the United States. Gerardo Beltran, 50, is charged with four counts of child molestation occurring between 1989 and 1991 and involving two victims. Beltran, who started serving in the diocese in 1982, disappeared in 1991 after Sacramento police began investigating allegations that he abused two former child parishioners. Son of Oakland City Council President Ignacio De La Fuente sentenced for four rapes  OAKLAND -- The son of Oakland City Council President Ignacio De La Fuente was sentenced Friday to 14 years in state prison for sexually assaulting four women ranging in age from 15 to 24 in an 18-month period between October 2003 and April 2005. Ignacio Rafael De La Fuente Jr., 34, chose not to speak at Friday's hearing, which was packed with many of his family members, including his parents, two other Oakland City Council members, Pat Kernighan and Henry Chang, and a group called Bay Area Women Against Rape, which supports the victims in the case. None of the four victims spoke and Alameda County Superior Court Judge Allan Hymer refused to let the mother of the victim who was 15 when she was sexually assaulted speak. Moncada kills self in cell after DNA links him to rape-murder of 14-year-old White girl  A man believed to be responsible for the 1991 rape and strangling of 14-year-old Jessica McHenry killed himself in a US prison hours after investigators told him DNA evidence linked him to the unsolved case. Derick Moncada, 35, was serving time at Kern Valley State Prison for threatening his girlfriend, beating a former girlfriend and leading police on a chase when Alameda County sheriff's deputies went to question him last week about Jessica's killing. The girl's burned body was found naked from the waist down in a ditch along a rural road in Livermore, east of San Francisco. Black raped and strangled an 11-year-old black girl  OAKLAND -- An Alameda County jury heard conflicting accounts today as to whether an Oakland man raped and strangled an 11-year-old girl before dumping her body in a field eight years ago. Deputy District Attorney John Brouhard told jurors that Alex Demolle, 32, brutally killed Jaquita Mack in Oakland's Fruitvale District on July 23, 1999, before using his next-door neighbor's car to drive her body to a weedy field, where it was found the next day. "Jaquita left her home that night to escape ugliness," Brouhard told a jury of six men and six women in his opening statement in the death-penalty trial in Oakland, referring to drug use and prostitution at her parents' home. But when she went outside to ride her bike, "She was confronted with complete and utter terror," Brouhard said. "He fondled her, he raped her, he sexually violated her little body. SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO -- At a news conference Monday afternoon, South San Francisco police announced the arrest of a man suspected of attempting to rape a woman at a South San Francisco business on Thursday, but have yet to connect him to a several area rapes and attempted rapes over the past year.Investigators were not "100-percent sure" that Contreras was responsible for a February 2006 rape in Colma, two attempted rapes in South San Francisco's Orange Park in September and November, and a rape on South Linden Avenue in South San Francisco, also in November. SAN FRANCISCO -- San Francisco: Police arrest ex-boyfriend in slaying of off-duty police officer  The ex-boyfriend of a slain Richmond policewoman was arrested for investigation of her murder Saturday after a daylong manhunt, authorities said. Quartus Lee Hinton, 28, of Vallejo, was arrested without incident at the Vallejo marina and is in custody, Richmond police said. Witnesses had identified Hinton as the gunman who shot off-duty Officer Kaliah Harper on Friday, authorities said. The five-year police veteran was killed after an argument outside the Fairfield Community Center, where she had attended a memorial service for two brothers killed in a car crash. He knocked on her door and asked for directions. When she gave them he
left but returned and asked to use the phone but when she tried to close
the door he forced his way inside and sexually assaulted her. She
started screaming and told him she was pregnant. The woman needed stitches.
