2 children in critical condition, gunman dead in shooting at California school Authorities believe a gunman may have targeted the California Seventh-day Adventist school where two young boys were critically wounded in a shooting Wednesday because of its church affiliation, the Butte County sheriff said. A prisoner at an Upstate New York jail was moments away from freedom when cops busted him for allegedly raping a 14-year-old girl – who he was in contact with while locked up.
Ronald L. Burris III, 21, was set to be released from Ulster County Jail in Kingston on Nov. 20 but instead detectives charged him with two counts of second-degree rape and other charges for having sex with a minor multiple times prior to his incarceration, according to the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office. The accused predator was locked up on an unrelated charge when investigators made the sick discovery. Police launched an investigation in September after they were alerted that Burris was having sexually explicit conversations electronically with the 14-year-old girl while he was detained, according to the sheriff’s office. Upon further investigation, authorities learned the sicko had sex with the child on several occasions over the summer. |

Rutland, Vermont – Two Black men from Massachusetts have been arrested for the shooting death of a White Vermont father, reportedly mistaken for a rival drug dealer.

The Alabama suspect accused of opening fire outside a Birmingham nightclub in September has now been charged with killing several other people in multiple shootings this year.
Damien McDaniel, who is currently in police custody, was charged with capital murder in connection with the July 13 mass shooting that killed four people and wounded 10 others. The 22-year-old's charges were announced by the Birmingham Police Department during a press conference on Wednesday. McDaniel was already connected to a Sept. 21 mass shooting in Birmingham, where four people were killed and at least 17 others were wounded. At the time of the shooting, Birmingham Police Chief Scott Thurmond said he believed the shooting was "a hit," and that the suspects were paid to open fire. Both of the shootings took place outside of nightclubs, with the Sept. 21 massacre taking place near the University of Alabama at Birmingham. |

Deputies say Sanders was an innocent bystander. In another case, Geremy Navarro was convicted of murder for the death of Ferron Marquise Williams in Ocala in January 2022. A Venezuelan migrant is accused of sexually assaulting the 14-year-old daughter of his employer in Colorado while living in the basement of his home, police and reports say. Jesus Alberto Pereira Castillo had crossed into the U.S. illegally in El Paso, Texas in September 2023 before being released by the Border Patrol, Homeland Security sources told the New York Post. He was taken into custody in Denver on Tuesday. "On August 29, 2024, at about 11:00 p.m., deputies responded to a south Jefferson County residence on a sexual assault investigation. Castillo's employer owns the residence, and Castillo was temporarily staying in the basement of the home," the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office said. "At around 10:30 that evening, Castillo forced himself on the 14-year-old daughter of the homeowner, sexually assaulting her. He left the residence before deputies arrived," it added. |

2 BLACK men indicted in murder cases in Port Orange, Daytona Beach
A Volusia County Grand Jury on Wednesday indicted two men: one is accused of killing a Port Orange woman in 2020 and setting her house on fire and another is accused of killing a rooommate this year in Daytona Beach.
Dougnitrio Smith Jr., 26, had already been indicted by a previous grand jury in October 2020 on charges of first-degree murder and arson of a dwelling. The grand jury on Wednesday indicted him on an additional count of burglary with a battery. Smith is accused of killing 67-year-old Elizabeth Adams and then setting her house on fire on Bolton Drive in Port Orange on July 27, 2020. The other case was that of Chadley Joseph, 18, who was indicted on a charge of first-degree murder. Joseph was accused of stabbing Sham Telfort, 30, a female roommate, to death on Nov. 6, 2023. Joseph stabbed the woman in the face, neck and back in their Daytona Beach apartment. |

The incident happened back in March on the first floor of an office building in the area of Northeast 168th Street and Northeast 2nd Avenue. North Miami Beach Police Chief Harvette Smith said officers responded to the building around 1:30 p.m. after getting a 911 call of a man walking around with a large machete. When officers arrived at the scene and made contact with the man, he refused officers' commands and ran into the building after officers tased him, Smith said. Bodycam footage released Monday showed the moment the man held a woman hostage with the machete pointed at her neck as she pleads for her life. "She's not doing anything to you, please put her down," a police officer is heard saying. "Let her go. It's okay, man. Put the machete down." After several attempts by officers ordering the man to drop the weapon, he continued to refuse to drop it and officers opened fire, Smith said. "The machete was pointed at her neck, in an attempt to kill her. At that point, our officers again gave commands for the subject to drop the knife. The subject refused to drop the knife at that point, making my officers result to using deadly force to save a life," Smith said. Illegal migrant arrested for allegedly raping 5-year-old girl on Long Island: cops 
An illegal (despicable hell-bound Wilson Castillo Diaz, 26, is accused of attacking the little girl on Oct. 16, according to Nassau County cops. Details of the alleged rape — including Diaz’s relationship with the girl and where it occurred — weren’t immediately available. The child was taken to a local hospital for a medical evaluation after the alleged attack, police said. Diaz, who was living in Westbury, had illegally crossed into the US near Rio Grande, Texas, in April 2014, according to cops. He was taken into custody by US border agents but later cut loose after being served with a notice to appear before an immigration judge. Diaz failed to appear at his immigration court hearing, according to cops. Immigration and Customs Enforcement has already been notified of his recent arrest, police said, without saying which country the suspect was originally from. Supreme Court allows Virginia’s purge of voter rolls to stand
The Supreme Court druled Wednesday to allow Virginia to purge hundreds of registered voters from the commonwealth’s rolls in an effort to block non-citizens from casting ballots in this year’s election.
The unsigned order stayed two lower court rulings that found the removal of more than 1,600 voters from the rolls in recent months — at the behest of Republican Gov. Glenn Youngkin — was illegal. The court’s three liberals — Justices Ketanji Brown Jackson, Elena Kagan, and Sonia Sotomayor — indicated that they would have allowed the lower court rulings to stand. Florida deputies arrest dozens of illegal immigrants allegedly caught looting from Hurricane Milton victims
More than 100 people, including at least 41 illegal 'migrants', have been arrested in Florida for allegedly looting and scamming victims of hurricanes Helene and Milton, local law enforcement officials said.
