Feds Arrest Black Muslim They Say Planned to Detonate Grenades in Illinois Shopping Mall A Rockford man allegedly planned to set off hand grenades in garbage cans at a shopping mall near Rockford as part of his plot to let the world know “the time for jihad is now.” Derrick Shareef, 22, targeted the Cherry Vale shopping mall, which has about 130 retail stores. But in recorded conversations he said the mall was “just one potential place,” and that he hoped to one day “smoke a judge,” according to the federal charges. Chicago Police: Black Gunman felt cheated over invention As Friday afternoon's rush began, a 59-year-old Joe Jackson entered the mezzanine level of the Citigroup Center high-rise in the West Loop, a bulky manila envelope in his hand. Commuters, bundled against the icy wind, were coming and going at the Metra station several floors down, unaware that a tragedy was unfolding above them. It was shortly before 3:15 p.m. Chicago police say the man drew a snub-nosed revolver and ordered a guard to take him to the top floor of the building. As he entered the intellectual-property law firm of Wood, Phillips, Katz, Clark & Mortimer, he chained the doors shut behind him and began firing the gun. By the time it was over, four people had been shot and the armed man was dead, taken down by a police sniper. Three of the victims, all men, died; a woman suffered a footwound. Early Saturday, officials identified the three men killed as Michael R. Police in Phoenix say they have caught the Black Killer who shot 9 people to death Police said Thursday they have caught the Baseline Killer, the gunman responsible for nine slayings that spread terror across the Phoenix area for nearly a year. Police Chief Jack Harris said investigators are recommending that Mark Goudeau, a 42-year-old construction worker who has been in jail since September, be charged with 71 counts, including nine murders -- most of them random shootings committed on the street at night. Goudeau was arrested three months ago in two sexual assaults that were attributed to the Baseline Killer. Alabama Police Say Mother Lied, Charge Boyfriend With Murder of 5-Year-Old Boy   Ala. — A mother's report that her 5-year-old son was asleep in the back of a car when it was stolen was a hoax, and her boyfriend was charged Tuesday with killing the boy, authorities said. The body of Geontae Glass and the car that was reported stolen Monday morning were found Tuesday in a closed garage at a house in rural Etowah County, Sheriff James Hayes said. Shalinda Glass, 25, of Rainbow City, was charged with hindering prosecution, and her boyfriend Kevin Andre Towles, who is believed to own the house where the body was found, was charged with capital murder. They were both being held in the Etowah County jail Tuesday night. Man Charged With Shaking Baby to Death Richland County deputies have charged a man with homicide by child abuse in the death of a one-year-old baby. Officers say 30-year-old Willis Boyd turned himself over to authorities Monday. The incident took place November 28 at Boyd's home. Investigators say he was babysitting three children at the time when at some point, he grabbed Jaqwon Turner, his second cousin, and shook him violently. Turner was taken to the hospital, where he died two days later. According to the incident report in the case, Boyd initially told investigators he didn't know how the Turner was injured. An autopsy later confirmed that the child's death was suspicious. “This child had no choice about where he was, and that just adds to the tragedy,” said Captain Stan Smith with the Richland County Sheriff’s Department. Dad raging at wife kills baby Jayla, cops say A cheating husband's rage over being nagged by his wife led him to kill their infant daughter, a police source and neighbors said yesterday. Burly Lawrence Johnson, 25, tried to blame the death of 3-month-old Jayla on one of the other two children - both toddlers - living with him and his wife, Lisandra Garcia, cops said. Johnson claimed one of the children had struck the infant with a toy, cops said. But police charged Johnson with murder, saying he beat the tiny girl on the face in the family's apartment on E. 181st St. in the Bronx because he was furious with his wife. Mom Charged In Baby Dahquay's Death Pleaded Guilty To Scalding Other Son Tramal A Brooklyn mother convicted earlier this year in the scalding of her young son in a tub of hot water has been charged in the possible drowning death of the boy's half brother in the same home. Tracina Vaughn, 25, was ordered held without bail following arraignment on charges of reckless endangerment and endangering the welfare of a child. Autopsy results on 16-month-old Dahquay Gillians, found dead in Vaughn's home on Sunday, were pending. DNA links black to murder of 84-year-old White woman  Harris County Sheriff’s investigators believe they caught Edric Carmichael Wilson, the man who killed Joel Osteen’s great aunt, Johnnie Daniels. He is charged with capital murder. Wilson appears to be a crack addict with a long criminal history. They said he was already in custody after a traffic violation and car chase Sept. 4.
Wilson was singled out after his DNA as put into a national DNA data base and officials got a hit.
It was Wilson’s DNA that was reportedly found under Daniels' finger nails after her body was found inside her home. “Obviously she did put up a fight. He did beat her with a claw hammer. She was severely beaten. Her face was just completely mangled," said Harris County Sheriff Tommy Thomas.
It happened August 17. Officials said Wilson rifled Daniels' pockets before leaving. Officials said Wilson may also be responsible for another stabbing at 14300 Laredo.
They said Wilson may also be the person who robbed a gas station on the south loop and Wayside August 14.

Execution looms for the black murderer of elderly White couple who were robbed and shot in the head  RICHMOND, Va. -- From their cells on Virginia's death row, the inmates can hear Percy Levar Walton laughing. His chuckles, the inmates say, come from nowhere, and are often mixed with shouts and incoherent babbling. He talks back to voices only he can hear. He once told a psychiatrist he plans to go to Burger King--after he is executed. On Friday, Walton is scheduled to die. And Walton, his attorneys say, has no idea. Walton, 28, came within two hours of death on June 8 when Gov. Timothy M. Kaine delayed the execution for six months to allow for new evaluations of the triple killer's mental condition and competence. Kaine is reviewing the results of those evaluations as he considers Walton's request for clemency. Walton pleaded guilty in 1997 to the murders of Jessie and Elizabeth Kendrick, a couple in their 80s, and 33-year-old Archie Moore. The Danville residents were robbed and shot in the head; Moore's body was found stuffed in a closet, his corpse doused in cologne. At trial, Fuller called Walton "a sadistic, ruthless and cold-blooded murderer who has no conscience." | Black former Burger King employee arrested for murder of White mother of three and BK manager LINDENHURST -- James Ealy was arrested for the murder of Burger King manager Mary Hutchison. He was charged with first-degree murder according to Lindenhurst Police. Ealy was being held in Jail late Friday. Ealy is employed as a service worker at a fast-food restaurant and at a department store. Ealy is a former employee of the Lindenhurst Burger King. He could not say when he worked at the store or if the suspect knew Hutchison. Authorities searched the Lakeview Terrance apartment complex and also drained 50,000 gallons of water from a retention pond near the fast-food restaurant. Hutchison was found Monday morning inside the Burger King by another employee who used her key to get into the restaurant to start her shift. Man gets 15 years after burning dog to death in oven  A man has been sentenced to 15 years in jail for burning a dog to death in the oven of the last house he burglarized in a series of burglaries in summer 2005. Alexander Davis, 20, had been charged with seven counts of burglary and with aggravated animal cruelty, for which he received the maximum sentence of five years. He also faces five years probation after the jail term. Davis was arrested in August 2005 after a woman returned home to find her home burglarized and her 1-year-old rat terrier "Zoe" burned to death in the oven, which had been set to 400 degrees. Evelyn Jeanette Williams was also arrested in the case and pleaded guilty to theft by receiving for selling some of the stolen property to a pawn shop. She was sentenced to one year in jail and four years of probation. Black Mom Allegedly Microwaves Baby DAYTON, Ohio -- A mother was arrested on suspicion of murdering her newborn daughter by microwaving the baby in an oven. China Arnold, 26, was jailed Monday on a charge of aggravated murder, more than a year after she brought her dead month-old baby to a hospital. Bail was set Tuesday at $1 million. "We have reason to believe, and we have some forensic evidence that is consistent with our belief, that a microwave oven was used in this death," said Ken Betz, director of the Montgomery County coroner's office. Man charged with rape to appear in court  A man accused of terrorizing the University area by allegedly committing rape and several break-ins is due in court Monday. Charges against Alfred Adams include: Rape, attempted rape, sexual offense, sexual battery, assault, kidnapping, burglary, larceny and communicating threats. All of the charges are in connection with an alleged crime spree which took place in the University Area two years ago. Back then, police asked neighbors to lock their homes and apartments. San Francisco: Police arrest ex-boyfriend in slaying of off-duty police officer  The ex-boyfriend of a slain Richmond policewoman was arrested for investigation of her murder Saturday after a daylong manhunt, authorities said. Quartus Lee Hinton, 28, of Vallejo, was arrested without incident at the Vallejo marina and is in custody, Richmond police said. Witnesses had identified Hinton as the gunman who shot off-duty Officer Kaliah Harper on Friday, authorities said. The five-year police veteran was killed after an argument outside the Fairfield Community Center, where she had attended a memorial service for two brothers killed in a car crash. Marcus Pleads Not Guilty In Downtown Madison Gang Rape MADISON, Wis. -- A not-guilty plea was entered Wednesday for one of the men charged in a University of Wisconsin-Madison campus gang rape on Labor Day morning. Jury acquits black Sodomite prisoner of raping his cellmate A Pierce County man who the state determined raped his prison cellmate last year was found not guilty of the crime by a jury. Tremayne Francis, 34, was serving a nine-year sentence for the 1998 rapes of two young men when an 18-year-old man told state investigators that the former martial-arts instructor had forced him into having sex at the Monroe Correctional Complex. When the cellmate reported he was raped by Francis in June 2005, the DOC already had determined that while in prison Francis had raped another inmate and tried to coerce other prisoners into having sex with him. DOC investigators then determined he also committed the 2005 rape and punished him for it. Francis claimed the sex was consensual. - (crime) |
White good Samaritan stops armed black from carjacking and possible rape of woman  Columbia police say a good Samaritan confronted an armed man in the parking lot of the Wal-Mart Wednesday morning. Marie Rich of Irmo told officers that around 5 a.m. Wednesday a man, who's been identified as 51-year-old Lonnie Martin Jr., approached her as she was getting into her car and said he needed a ride. "I slammed the door, hit the alarm button on my car, and I started screaming and running," said Rich. She approached another shopper, Thomas Jacobs of Irmo, and told him what happened. "I went in pursuit of him," explained Jacobs. "When I caught up, I asked him to come back to the store." The incident report states Martin then walked away. Jacobs grabbed Martin, according to police, and the two got into a fight. The report states that Martin pulled out a gun and stuck it in Jacob's stomach, and the two began struggling with the weapon. Court upholds conviction of ex-police officer for rape  A federal appeals court has upheld the conviction of former Jackson police officer Maceo Simmons on civil rights charges stemming from a 1999 sexual assault. The 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in New Orleans threw out Simmons' 20-year prison sentence and ordered him resentenced under new guidelines. The victim, who was 19 at the time of the assault, said that after a traffic stop Sept. 19, 1999, Simmons took her in his patrol car to a remote spot and sexually assaulted her while a second officer acted as a lookout, according to the court record. The woman said she waited a year before filing a report because she was scared. Simmons and Officer Thomas Catchings were arrested in December 2000 and placed on administrative leave without pay. The two were acquitted in state court in 2001. Simmons was convicted in March 1, 2005, in federal court in Jackson on a charge that he had committed the assault while acting under the color of law. Suspect Accused Of Raping Teen Boys Indicted On 20 Counts A man accused in a series of rapes and sexual assaults involving teenage males was indicted Monday on 20 counts of rape, attempted rape, kidnapping, aggravated robbery, and gross sexual imposition. James Bohannon, 27, is accused in the sexual assaults of eight different teenage males starting in 2004. In all of the attacks, police said Bohannon used a handgun to threaten the victims and force them into secluded areas. The most recent cases occurred in September of this year. Garganus T. Moore guilty of rape, criminal deviate sexual behavior and criminal confinement  Moore's charges grew out of three days in March when he beat and sexually assaulted his then-girlfriend, keeping her a prisoner in her own apartment.
On the day his trial started, Moore pleaded guilty to battery, but he continued to deny the rape, deviate behavior and criminal confinement.The beating was the result of Moore's jealousy. He accused the victim and Moore's friend BJ of "eyeballing" each other. When he confronted the victim, he became angry and beat her. On the stand, Moore said the beating lasted only 15 minutes. The victim had said it lasted for hours and that Moore became exhausted from hitting her and had to stop and rest occasionally. - (crime) |
Black Trash Collector Guilty in Cape Cod Rape-Murder of White woman  A trash collector was convicted on Thursday in the 2002 rape and murder of Christa Worthington, a fashion writer who was stabbed to death and was found in her bungalow on Cape Cod with her 2-year-old daughter clutching her body. The trash collector, Christopher McCowen, 34, was found guilty of first-degree murder with extreme atrocity, aggravated rape and aggravated armed burglary. The judge sentenced McCowen to three concurrent terms of life in prison without parole. The killing of Ms. Worthington, 46, who had lived in New York and Paris before moving to the quiet beach town of Truro, attracted international news coverage, in part because of the grisly and poignant elements of the crime. The police said Ms. Worthington’s daughter, Ava, may have spent up to 36 hours at the bloody scene before she was found trying to breastfeed from her mother. It took the police more than three years to make an arrest. They initially focused on several of Ms. Worthington’s former boyfriends, including Ava’s father, a married man. Detectives arrest black suspects in beating death of white man   Police announced the arrest of two people for the beating death of a man in Southeast Portland. According to Cathe Kent of the Portland Police Bureau, detectives and U.S. Marshalls arrested 39-year-old Charles Louis Sampson, Jr., and 47-year-old Brenda Lee Hudson in connection with the murder of 57-year-old Ronald Lee McClanahan. McClanahan’s body was found in the home on SE 141st Avenue in September. A medical examiner said he died from blunt force trauma. Kent said detectives think the victim let the two suspects into the home, they then planned to rob McClanahan. The two suspects were charged with aggravated murder and were due in court Thursday afternoon. Smiling Black pleads not guilty to running down a white family in McDonald's parking lot - killing 2-year-old   The black man accused of running down five white family members and killing a 2-year-old girl in the parking lot of a McDonald's restaurant in Covington last May pleaded not guilty. Lanny Perry Barnes, 46, attended the 15-minute arraignment hearing wearing street clothes and no expression on his face. Sitting behind him was Stephanie Casola, the mother who was hit, along with her two sons, niece, and sister, by Barnes' vehicle. Witnesses told police that Barnes struck the family, backed up, smiled, and drove into them again. Casola's niece, Avery King, died of her injuries. Skull Found in creek ID'd as 5-year-old White girl Emily Rimel - kidnaped, raped and murdered by black   A skull found in a creek earlier this week has been identified as that of a five-year-old columbus-area girl who disappeared a year and a-half ago. Investigators have identified the remains of Emily Rimel through DNA. Emily was last seen at her home early in the morning on December 7th, 2004. Two people fishing found the skull on Tuesday. The Coroner ays there was trauma to the skull. With confirmation that the remains are those of Emily Rimel, the prosecutor's office can move ahead with plans to seek murder charges against the main suspect. Lindsay Bruce, is serving a 10-year sentence after he was convicted of kidnapping Rimel in December 2004. At the time, Bruce was not charged with murder. While Ohio law does not require the presence of a corpse to charge someone in a homicide, doing so without a body does raise the chances that a jury could acquit. O'Brien says this could easily become a death penalty case based on several factors, including Rimel's age. Over the next few weeks, reports will be written state crime lab investigators and the county coroner's office. Black Sex Offender Charged With Kidnap-Rape-Kill of White 11-year-old Jacksonville Girl In 1996  Fla. -- A Connecticut sex offender will be returned to Florida to face a murder charge after being linked to the decade-old rape and drowning of an 11-year-old girl through a database of DNA from convicted sex offenders. Robert Shelton Mitchell, 43, was being held on a $5 million bond after being arraigned as a fugitive. He will face first-degree murder and capital sexual battery charges in the death of Cherie Morrisette of Jacksonville. The Mandarin Middle School student body was found on Dec. 8, 1996, floating in the St. John's River about 10 miles south of the apartment she shared with her mother and sister. An autopsy determined that Cherie drowned shortly after her disappearance on Dec. 2, 1996, and was alive when she either fell into the river or was thrown in. Police labeled the death suspicious, and authorities found a small DNA sample on her underwear and body. Mitchell lived in nearby Middleburg at the time of the girl's death, police said Thursday.
