Killer Laughs, Tells Families To 'Get Over It'     TACOMA, Wash. -- Tensions were high in a Tacoma courtroom Wednesday when a man who pleaded guilty to killing three people told the victims' families to "get over it." Ulysses Handy, 24, will spend the rest of his life in prison after pleading guilty to murder charges to avoid a possible death penalty. He shot 28-year old Darren Christian, 20-year old Daniel Varo and 21-year old Lindy Cochran to death in February during a robbery at a Tacoma home. The three were his friends. Handy smirked in court as relatives of the victims talked about their loss. When it was his turn to speak, Handy said he was asking for no sympathy because he doesn't have any. Handy showed no remorse as he addressed the court Wednesday, "I feel there's two types of people in this world, us and them, predator and prey. Well, I'm damn sure not a prey. So, I know there's people up in here hurt. Well, pain's a part of life, deal with it, get over it." | Judge Calls Westchester Mall Killer 'Face of Evil' Black Gets 25-To-Life for knifing a woman to death in a mall parking garage because she was white  WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- A homeless man was sentenced Monday to 25 years to life in prison for knifing a woman to death in a mall parking garage because she was white. "You, Mr. Grant, represent the face of evil," State Supreme Court Justice Lester Adler told the man, Phillip Grant. Grant seemed unmoved as the maximum sentence was imposed. As he was led out of the courtroom, the victim's son, Jonathan Russo, shouted, "Disgusting animal!" Grant, 44, who is black, was convicted in July of murder as a hate crime in the killing of Concetta Russo-Carriero, a 56-year-old legal secretary. She was stabbed twice in the heart in June 2005 in the parking garage of the Galleria mall in downtown White Plains. Captured just minutes later, Grant quickly admitted his guilt, led police to a bloody knife and sat for a videotaped confession in which he ranted about a race war, saying of his victim, "As long as she had blond hair and blue eyes, she had to die." Va. Man on Trial for Killing Family of 3 RICHMOND, Va. -- A man accused of suffocating a family of three methodically wrapped his victims' faces in duct tape, ransacked their home and then drove off while snacking on food he stole from their refrigerator, a prosecutor said Monday. "He killed them!" prosecutor Matthew Geary said in opening statements, pointing at Ray Joseph Dandridge. "These people lay there three or four minutes before they lost consciousness -- unable to breathe, helpless." Dandridge, 29, is charged with three counts of capital murder in the Jan. 6 killings of Percyell Tucker, 55, his wife, Mary Baskerville-Tucker, 47, and her daughter, Ashley Baskerville, 21. He is charged with killing someone during a robbery, killing more than one person at a time and killing more than one person in a three-year period. Prosecutors say Dandridge and his uncle, Ricky Jovan Gray, killed the family as part of a bloody crime spree that included the slaughter of a second Richmond family less than a week earlier. Gray, also 29, was convicted last month of capital murder for the New Year's Day slayings of musician Bryan Harvey, 49, his wife, Kathryn, 39, and daughters Stella, 9, and Ruby, 4. Police: Dallas Man May Be Serial Rapist Dallas police charged a man with a sexual assault and said he might be a serial rapist. Vernon Waller Jr. is charged with one count of aggravated sexual assault, but police said he could be connected to as many as five attacks. Investigators said they used DNA evidence to connect Waller to a July rape. They said he is also the prime suspect in at least four other rapes in the Dallas area. The attacks all happened in the early-morning hours in parking lots of apartments and businesses. Police said the victims were robbed, abducted and raped. Police had arrested Waller two weeks ago on a parole violation. They said he volunteered to give detectives the DNA sample that they said linked him to the crime. Two of three black Berkeley men pleaded no contest to charges of gang rape of a 13-year-old girl  Two Berkeley men who pleaded no contest to charges of unlawful sex with a minor are expected to be sentenced in a plea agreement. Ryan Garvey, 24, and Lawrence Hardin, 30, will likely be sentenced to one year in county jail and five years probation for the statutory rape of a 13-year-old girl near West Berkeley last year. Police arrested Garvey and Hardin last Sept. 13 near West Berkeley on suspicion of rape and lewd conduct with a minor after a passerby reported a young girl calling for help from a residence on Allston Way near Spaulding Avenue. Houston Man Wanted, Charged In Double Killing A man is wanted in connection with the shooting deaths of two men in southwest Houston on Tuesday,. Houston police said Shannon Wayne Landry, 26, has been charged with the deaths of two men, both in their late 20s to early 30s, at the Shadowtree Apartments. Investigators said both men had been shot in the head. Officials said the identities of the victims are being withheld until family members are notified of their deaths. Black Jackson Mayor Melton Is Indicted Over Crime-Fighting Tactics JACKSON, Miss. --
Among the counts now faced by the mayor, Frank Melton, are burglary, malicious mischief, illegally carrying a gun and causing a minor to commit a felony. The most serious of the charges against him carry sentences of up to 25 years. Some of the charges stem from a sheriff’s investigation of the night of Aug. 26, when the home of Evans Welch, a man with a history of mental illness and petty crimes, was attacked by a sledgehammer-wielding group of young men without warning or permit. Man Beat Girlfriend With Such Force To Break Toliet Baltimore County police are searching for a man they said attacked and beat his girlfriend. Police said Calvin Louis Jones, 46, of Marianna, Fla., is wanted for the attempted murder of Yvonne Whitaker, 49. They said the attack occurred inside a home she was cleaning. . Jones is described as a black man, 6 foot, 2 inches tall, and weighing 200 pounds. Detectives said Whitaker began an online relationship with Jones approximately three months ago. After conversations, Jones came to Maryland two weeks prior to the attack, and was staying with the victim and her parents. Whitaker worked for Clean Sweep Enterprises cleaning houses, and took Jones with her to clean a newly constructed house being prepared for settlement. They said Jones and the victim began arguing, which led Jones to assault her. Police said Jones hit Whitaker in the head, then grabbed her by the head and dragged her to a powder room. Jones then slammed her head on a sink. The victim was then slammed into a toilet with such force that it broke the toilet, flooding the area with water. Durham City Man Arrested In Citywide Crime Spree A Durham man is in police custody, accused of carjacking, assault and even animal cruelty in an alleged crime spree that spread across Durham. Daniel Bloodworth, 48, of Gladstone Drive in Durham, was arrested after a disturbance at a Wal-Mart. He slashed an employee on the arm with a box cutter when store employees attempted to stop him on suspicion of shoplifting. Employees tackled him and held him until officers arrived. After his arrest, Bloodworth was charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon, assault with a deadly weapon, inflicting serious injury and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bloodworth was later identified as a suspect in an Aug. 27 carjacking in the parking lot of Target on Chapel Hill Boulevard. Police said a woman was getting in her vehicle when a male armed with a knife approached her, knocked her to the ground and pulled a knife before stealing her 2003 Toyota Prius. - (crime) - (Newsroom) |
Man Masturbating Near School Had Toys, Drugs  Miami-Dade police arrested a man who they said was masturbating near a school in an area where children were playing. Police said that they watched Ewan Dixon, 36, masturbating in a parked car in the area about 5 p.m. The car was parked near an apartment complex and a school where children were playing, according to investigators. Black rapist and murderer of old women gets plea deal * Serial Killer, Rapist Sentenced To Life  Sons and daughters, grandchildren and nieces, they filled the courtroom benches yesterday, steeling themselves to hear about the anguished last moments in the lives of the aged relatives whom they loved. "Remember us," one lady hissed as Raymont Hopewell entered the courtroom in shackles and chains. Her family shushed her. Hopewell had come to this Baltimore Circuit Court hearing to admit his guilt in a series of crimes that spanned from 1999 to last September. It took three prosecutors and 45 minutes to describe the rapes, murders, robberies and assaults. Some relatives sat with their heads bowed and hands folded. Some relatives trained their eyes on Hopewell, trying to assess his stoicism. Prosecutors described the deaths of Constance Wills, 60; Sarah Shannon, 88; Sadie Mack, 78; Carlton Crawford, 82; and Lydia Wingfield, 78. Three of the women had been raped. All had been strangled or smothered. Alleged son of white musician brutally murdered by blacks wants "you racist lowlives to hang"   KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- A man accused in the slaying of a Kansas City Symphony musician admitted his guilt. Sylvon Sese pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and armed criminal action. Investigators said that Sese was one of four people arrested in the death of Steven Peters. Peters was shot to death inside his Independence home during a burglary in September. Three other defendants are still awaiting trial. Michael Jones and Richard Jones were charged with second-degree murder and armed criminal action in the death of Steven Peters.The men were allegedly trying to rob the home, but Peters fought back.

African migrant from Uganda Faces 30 Charges of Incest, Rape LOWELL, Massachusetts - - A high school math teacher is being held on one million dollars bail after being arraigned on 30 charges of rape and incest in New Hampshire. Severine Wamala, who is also a prominent chess player, is accused of sexually assaulting three young women, ranging in age from their teens to early twenties. Police say one of the girls reported that the assaults began five years ago, when she was ten years old. Third Attack Involving Phony Cops Investigators want to know if a home invasion there involving a gang of phony cops is connected to two other cases in metro-Atlanta. The victims have told investigators that four men dressed in black broke into their home through a basement window and door. The men were armed. One of them had a silver badge around his neck and, according to the victims, the suspects referred to each other as "officer." "They tied the victims up, including the children. They ransacked the house, looking in unusual places like air vents and the attic, saying 'where's the money? Where's the dope?'" Killer Set To Die For 1991 Slaying HUNTSVILLE, Texas -- A violent rampage that began 15 years ago in Huntsville, leaving two people dead and a third seriously wounded, could come full circle with an execution on Tuesday. Convicted killer Farley Charles Matchett is set to die Thursday night in the Texas death chamber in Huntsville. The 43-year-old inmate was convicted in the 1991 fatal beating and stabbing of his 52-year-old uncle, Uries Anderson, at Anderson's Houston home. Matchett also had a life prison term for killing a 74-year-old woman in Huntsville and leaving a 91-year-old Huntsville woman with brain damage in a beating that got him 99 years in prison. Judge Says Bahamas migrant Milagro accused of raping an 8-year-girl "Unfit for Trial" Milagro Cunningham, a native of the Bahamas, was charged as an adult with attempted first-degree murder, sexual battery, kidnapping and other counts. He had been held without bail since his arrest in May 2005, when he was 17. Police discovered the girl under chunks of concrete at a landfill May 22, 2005, about seven hours after she was reported missing from her godmother's home. She identified Cunningham as her attacker. Black Sodomite DSU band leader charged with male rape Delaware State University's new band director was arrested Monday in connection with the alleged rape of a 20-year-old male student over the weekend. Miguel A. Bonds, 31, was charged with second-degree rape, two counts of third-degree unlawful sexual contact and providing alcohol to an underage person, Bonds was committed to the Delaware Correctional Center near Smyrna and placed on paid administrative leave by DSU. Cpl. Oldham said the alleged incident occurred Saturday night when the student went to Mr. Bonds' apartment after the DSU football game.
Mr. Bonds allegedly gave him a drugged drink and put on a pornographic movie and performed oral sex on the student and touched him inappropriately as he drifted in and out of consciousness, Cpl. Oldham said.

Will the killings stop in wake of Phoenix arrest? Phoenix residents who have been on edge as police struggled to solve two serial killer cases are breathing a hesitant and cautious sigh of relief. In the past year, the "Baseline Killer" is suspected of killing eight people, sexually assaulting 11 women and girls and committing several robberies. There were no breaks in the case until Wednesday, when police arrested 42-year-old Mark Goudeau in two sexual assaults thought to be tied to the Baseline Killer. 14-year-old accused of sexually assaulting a 12-year-old girl OMAHA, Neb. -- Court documents detail new information about a 14-year-old who is accused of sexually assaulting a 12-year-old girl. The suspect raped a girl a knifepoint in her bedroom and then attempted to break in two more times. Authorities became suspicious of Robert Fountain after he told officers that he saw someone running from the scene of the crime. Evidence found in the Fountain's home connected him to the case. One of the items was a wet jacket that was similar to one worn by the suspect as well as a kitchen knife found under Fountain's mattress. Two blacks (of 20) charged in alleged gang-rape of 11-year-old lesbian gilr with HIV/AIDS  MILWAUKEE - Two more people were charged Friday in the case of an 11-year-old girl who authorities say had sex with as many as 20 people as a 16-year-old girl coached her. Freeman Gurley (on right) , 40, the 16-year-old's uncle, and Darnell Chaney, 17, were charged with two counts of first-degree sexual assault of a child. The 16-year-old girl and a 15-year-old boy also have been charged in juvenile court with being a party to sexual assault of a child. A police spokeswoman said they were still seeking five others in the case. Also on Friday, Alderman Mike McGee Jr. said he met with the girl, whom he described as distraught. Third Suspect Surrenders in Man's Beating Death Three teenagers have been charged with robbery and murder, and police say a fourth suspect is still on the loose. 18-year-old Emmanuel Jackson was arraigned Friday morning on charges of aggravated murder and aggravated robbery. A judge set Jackson's bail at $3 million. Police say Jackson turned himself in Thursday after the community identified him from a surveillance video that was aired on TV. The video shows 43-year-old Terry Ward being struck in a parking lot on Sullivant Avenue last weekend. Ward died from that incident that also included him being robbed. Two other teens, 15-year-old Elijah Nicholas and 14-year-old Joshua Conley, have also been arrested. Police say both teens could be seen on the tape. - (crime) |

Skull Found in creek ID'd as 5-year-old White girl Emily Rimel - kidnaped, raped and murdered by black   A skull found in a creek earlier this week has been identified as that of a five-year-old columbus-area girl who disappeared a year and a-half ago. Investigators have identified the remains of Emily Rimel through DNA. Emily was last seen at her home early in the morning on December 7th, 2004. Two people fishing found the skull on Tuesday. The Coroner ays there was trauma to the skull. With confirmation that the remains are those of Emily Rimel, the prosecutor's office can move ahead with plans to seek murder charges against the main suspect. Lindsay Bruce, is serving a 10-year sentence after he was convicted of kidnapping Rimel in December 2004. At the time, Bruce was not charged with murder. While Ohio law does not require the presence of a corpse to charge someone in a homicide, doing so without a body does raise the chances that a jury could acquit. O'Brien says this could easily become a death penalty case based on several factors, including Rimel's age. Over the next few weeks, reports will be written state crime lab investigators and the county coroner's office. Black Sex Offender Charged With Kidnap-Rape-Kill of White 11-year-old Jacksonville Girl In 1996  Fla. -- A Connecticut sex offender will be returned to Florida to face a murder charge after being linked to the decade-old rape and drowning of an 11-year-old girl through a database of DNA from convicted sex offenders. Robert Shelton Mitchell, 43, was being held on a $5 million bond after being arraigned as a fugitive. He will face first-degree murder and capital sexual battery charges in the death of Cherie Morrisette of Jacksonville. The Mandarin Middle School student body was found on Dec. 8, 1996, floating in the St. John's River about 10 miles south of the apartment she shared with her mother and sister. An autopsy determined that Cherie drowned shortly after her disappearance on Dec. 2, 1996, and was alive when she either fell into the river or was thrown in. Police labeled the death suspicious, and authorities found a small DNA sample on her underwear and body. Mitchell lived in nearby Middleburg at the time of the girl's death, police said Thursday.
