Convicted Rapist Accused In Alleged Rape Attempt Ohio -- A convicted rapist is back in jail facing similar charges. Roland Daniels was out of prison for three months when he allegedly attacked a woman and tried to rape her. In May Daniels tried to rape a woman who lived near him. The woman was allegedly dragged into an apartment building, and her clothes were ripped. The woman managed to escape, but two days later, Daniels allegedly broke into her apartment. When she returned home, a beer bottle and knife were found with Daniels, investigators said. Police were called and Daniels was arrested. "The defendant said to her, 'Do you have a cigarette?' She gave him a cigarette and he asked, 'Do you take money for sex?' She responded, 'No.' His response was, 'Well, if you don't give it, I'll take it,'" - (Newsroom) - (crime) |
Illegal-Immigrant Pastor Jesus Alonso Ochoa-Gomez Accused Of Homo Sex Assault, Kidnapping of Man  Colo. -- A pastor in Brighton who operates safe houses in Colorado was arrested for allegedly kidnapping and sexual assaulting a 20-year-old man, police said Thursday. Jesus Alonso Ochoa-Gomez, a 36-year-old illegal immigrant, operated a safe house for fellow illegal immigrants in Aurora and opened another safe house in Lochbuie earlier this year. The kidnapping and sexual assault allegedly took place in the Lochbuie location, police said. On Monday, acting on an arrest warrent, Lochbuie police officers went to Ochoa-Gomez's home, but the suspect refused to open the door. Police forced themselves into the home, where Ochoa-Gomex was arrested. His pregnant wife was also at home. Ochoa-Gomez was transported to the Weld County Jail and is being held on a $25,000 bond. Black attempted to murder a White mother and her four children in confessed racial hate crime MASSAPEQUA, N.Y. -- A white woman said she was in shock after a black man threw a 10-inch chunk of concrete at her sport utility vehicle in what police were labeling a hate crime. Kim McCandless, was driving to the Sunrise Mall with her two daughters, a niece and a nephew, all between 7 months and 4 years old, when the concrete struck her windshield. No one was injured. McCandless said she made eye contact with the attacker before he threw the concrete. "I was in shock," she said. "I didn't understand why. Why me, why my kids, why my car?" Carl Graves threw the concrete at the SUV because the driver was white. Graves and two friends were in the mall and were upset that the arcade and the movie theater were closed. Religion: DNA Leads to Arrest in Rape of Church Worker A rape case that laid dormant for three years until the crime lab got a match on a DNA sample led to charges today in an attack on a Shreveport church worker. Willie Evans Jr., 26, was arrested this afternoon on charges he raped a 43-year-old woman who worked at a church. Police said a man knocked on the church door that day and said he needed assistance. The woman let him in the church and he pulled a gun and raped her, police said. "The case just been pretty dormant without any leads," "The crime lab got a hit on DNA. His address, physical denoscription -- everything about him -- matched the crime scene." Evans was booked on charges of forcible rape. Hearing Held for Teen Accused of Brutal Rape, Murder  A 17-year-old boy was in court today for a preliminary hearing and could get life in prison without parole if convicted on charges of aggravated murder.
Police say 17-year old Robert Cameron Houston raped and murdered Raechale Elton, a counselor at a group home, in February.
A male co-worker testified in court today that he saw Elton agree to give Houston a ride to another facility. The co-worker felt uneasy about it and went to check on Elton. Instead he found her body. He also says he saw Houston running away from the crime scene, his clothing soaked in blood.
Police say Elton had been brutually raped and her throat slit. After today's hearing, the death penalty is off the table. A recent US Supreme Court ruling forbids the execution of minors. - (crime) - (Black-on-White) |
Man Sentenced In 22-Year-Old Rape Case A Louisville woman was in court Friday to see the man who raped her sentenced to prison -- 22 years after the crime. Raymond Walker was recently convicted of raping the woman and stealing her car in 1984.
He surfaced only recently as a suspect after he was convicted in a separate rape case when his DNA was submitted to a national database.
Walker's victim asked the judge to show no mercy, and said she still fears for her safety. "As far as parole, I don't want to be a 60-year-old woman looking over my shoulder wondering if he's going to attack me again, or, as he threatened to do that night: kill me."
The judge gave Walker the maximum sentence for which he was eligible: 40 years in prison. - (crime) |

Demeche Shaun Lofton, 27, was arrested in the death of Heather K. Littleton, 22, of Nashville.A missing person's case has turned into a homicide investigation. 22-year-old Heather Littleton of Nashville, Arkansas was reported missing by her mother on Saturday after she never came home Friday night. Her car was found later Saturday afternoon in the Cossatot Community College parking lot. Howard County Sheriff's deputies say items from inside her car were stolen. Detectives say tracing the stolen items led them to 27-year-old Demeche Shaun Lofton, also of Nashville. Arkansas State Police detectives say Lofton took them to a wooded area in Nashville, where the found Littleton dead. Her body has been sent to the Arkansas State Crime Lab to determine the cause of death. - (Newsroom) - (crime) - (Black-on-White) Ref: Murder suspect arraigned * Missing woman’s body found Lofton was interviewed again after being advised of his Miranda rights. During this interview, he admitted choking Littleton to death after an altercation in her car turned physical. Lofton reportedly told the officers he placed her body in the trunk of her car, and drove to a local motel, where he rented a room and smoked crack cocaine. Sometime later, according to the affidavit, he drove her car to a remote location within the city limits, took her body from the trunk and put it on the ground. From there, he took the car to CCCUA and left it. Lofton offered to take investigators to Littleton’s body. He took them, the affidavit states, to a location off 4th Street, showing them where her partially nude body was. |
Black Teen Gets 10 Years For Crash That Killed White Officer * Ref: New Ordinance Sought After Lawrence Officer's Death  INDIANAPOLIS -- A teenager who authorities said drove a stolen van and caused a crash that killed a Lawrence police officer last year was sentenced Friday to 10 years in prison. Dennis Sloan, 16, pleaded guilty to auto theft and resisting law enforcement causing death in connection with the wreck that killed Lawrence police Officer Craig Herbert. Dennis Sloan, then 15, was driving a stolen van and leading police on a chase on March 5, 2005, when the van broadsided a patrol car driven by Herbert. Herbert, 34, died as a result of the crash. Sex Offender Arrested Near Where Amber Harris Bag Found * Ref: Police Seek Missing Girl  OMAHA, Neb. -- Investigators won't say if a level 3 sex offender who was arrested near the home where 12-year-old Amber Harris' backpack was found is a suspect in her death. Police arrested Roy Ellis on Friday morning at 21st and Ohio streets. Ellis is charged with making terroristic threats, first-degree false imprisonment and domestic abuse charges against a woman. Ellis was convicted of raping two young girls in 1999. Police said they're looking at all sex offenders living near the area where Harris' book bag was found in February near 21st and Lake streets. Police won't confirm or deny whether Ellis is one of the people they're investigating. - (crime) |
Man Found Guilty Of Killing Racine Mother, Daughter  RACINE, Wis. -- A Milwaukee man has been found guilty in the 2004 fatal shootings of a Racine mother and daughter. A Racine County Circuit Court jury found Wendell McPherson guilty Wednesday in the deaths of 40-year-old Nancy Mason and her 19-year-old daughter, Meghan Mason. The 27-year-old McPherson is scheduled for sentencing on July 7. Each victim was shot once in the head, and police also found a dog in the bedroom with its mouth bound with duct tape. Teen admits killing his friend last year  Michael Staton may have saved his life today when he admitted he shot and killed his friend Roy Jenkins in Easton last year. Roy Jenkins, 17, who lived in the city's South Side, died of a single shot to the abdomen. Four other young men on the porch ran and were not hit by the other five slugs Staton fired. In exchange for the plea, the prosecution dropped its intent to seek a first-degree murder conviction and the death penalty at trial. "You mean he was shot by accident?" Judge Baratta asked. Black massacres Seven 'Hispanics' - Not a 'hate crime' - Police cite robbery as motive in Indianapolis murders  Seven family members were shot and killed late Thursday night. When officers arrived on scene, they found a young woman crying that her mother had been shot. When officers entered the home they found multiple fatalities. Police say the four adults were shot execution style, and three children were shot in their beds. The victims, all part of an extended family, have been identified as: Alberto Covarrubias, 56-year-old male Emma Valdez, 46-year-old female Magno Albarran, 29-year-old male Flora Albarran, 22-year-old female Alberto Covarrubias, 11-year-old male David Covarrubias, 8- or 9-year-old male Luis Albarran, 5-year-old male Police have identified one suspect in the murders. White female Birmingham attorney found safe after abduction, black suspect held
  BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The ordeal began early in the morning, when witnesses say they saw a gunman force a family law attorney back into the Lexus she was driving. Then, they sped away.
It ended nine hours later, when authorities found 34-year-old Sandra Eubank Gregory at a Comfort Inn motel a few miles away. Police swarmed the motel around 5:20 p.m. Wednesday and arrested Dedrick Griham, 35, holding him down on a walkway outside of a second floor motel room before putting him in the back of a police car. Inmate tried to kill guard to escape from McLean County jail  BLOOMINGTON -- The man accused of murdering an Illinois State University student is now facing additional attempted murder charges.
They stem from an incident over the weekend when Maurice Wallace allegedly attacked correctional officer Olivia Anglin inside the Mclean County jail.
The sheriff's department said Anglin was punched repeatedly in the face by Wallace.
They also said he tried to stab the officer using a handmade weapon with a metal blade.

Colored Youth Charged In Fatal Shooting Of White Wayne County Teen * White High school student shot and killed  N.C. -- A Goldsboro teenegro was charged with murder after authorities say he shot another teen in a car. John Paul Setliff, 17, of Freemont, was shot while sitting in a vehicle at about 2:35 a.m. Monday. Setliff was taken to a hospital where he was treated for a gunshot wound, but later died. Sheriff's officials said that four teens were on Albert Drive off Perkins Road when someone fired a handgun and a bullet hit Setliff. Sheriff's officials said that the gun was found and that alcohol and drugs were involved. Timothy W. Alston, 17, was charged with murder and is being held without bond. Black Milwaukee Officer Charged With Killing Of Unarmed Man Shoots, Kills Self A Milwaukee police officer charged Tuesday with homicide committed suicide in his home Tuesday on the city's south side. A 16-page complaint was just filed Tuesday morning, charging Alfonzo Glover with first-degree intentional homicide. He was also accused of lying during an inquest into the shooting death of Wilbert Prado. A District Attorney believed Blover was lying about the claim his life was in danger when he shot at Prado 19 times, hitting him eight times, mostly in the back. Poe was accused of killing Trever Lee, 23, in Lee's townhouse near 105th and Sprague streets in November 2004. Janet Brockenbough said she took a course years ago that helped her come to the rescue of a coworker. Police said the Kwik Shop at 36th and Leavenworth streets was robbed by Michael Shropshire, 49, last week. When officers arrived, Brockenbough and another employee were holding Shropshire down. 2 Youths with Ebonic Names Teens Plead Guilty To Reduced Charges In Mob Beating of Black Crack Addict MILWAUKEE -- Two teens accused in the mob beating that left a man hospitalized last December in Milwaukee pleaded guilty to reduced charges. Latrail Chie Ball and Jamael Avery Robinson, both 17, were charged with being party to first-degree reckless injury. Each pleaded guilty to being party to substantial battery in the beating of Samuel McClain, 50. Criminal complaints said that McClain was beaten Dec. 26 after going to a Milwaukee neighborhood to buy crack cocaine. McClain told police he was attacked after complaining because someone took his $19 and didn't return with the drugs. He was beaten unconscious and has since recovered. - (crime) - (Newsroom) |
Black Suspect Arrested In Fatal Ambush Of White Orlando Mom   Police in Orlando, Fla., arrested one of two men sought in the ambush and fatal shooting of a mother last week. Deborah Culin had just stepped off a bus and was heading home when she was killed. "Orlando police say Toris Oliver is responsible." Someone recognized Oliver from surveillance photos that showed Oliver and another man using Cullin's credit card just 9 mintues after she was murdered. Oliver allegedly filled up two cars with gas and then purchased more than $150 worth of food. Cullins family said they want whoever is responsible behind bars. Skull Found in creek ID'd as 5-year-old White girl Emily Rimel - kidnaped, raped and murdered by black   A skull found in a creek earlier this week has been identified as that of a five-year-old columbus-area girl who disappeared a year and a-half ago. Investigators have identified the remains of Emily Rimel through DNA. Emily was last seen at her home early in the morning on December 7th, 2004. Two people fishing found the skull on Tuesday. The Coroner ays there was trauma to the skull. With confirmation that the remains are those of Emily Rimel, the prosecutor's office can move ahead with plans to seek murder charges against the main suspect. Lindsay Bruce, is serving a 10-year sentence after he was convicted of kidnapping Rimel in December 2004. At the time, Bruce was not charged with murder. While Ohio law does not require the presence of a corpse to charge someone in a homicide, doing so without a body does raise the chances that a jury could acquit. O'Brien says this could easily become a death penalty case based on several factors, including Rimel's age. Over the next few weeks, reports will be written state crime lab investigators and the county coroner's office. Dark Demon Sex Offender Charged With Kidnap-Rape-Kill of White 11-year-old Jacksonville Girl In 1996  Fla. -- A Connecticut sex offender will be returned to Florida to face a murder charge after being linked to the decade-old rape and drowning of an 11-year-old girl through a database of DNA from convicted sex offenders. Robert Shelton Mitchell, 43, was being held on a $5 million bond after being arraigned as a fugitive. He will face first-degree murder and capital sexual battery charges in the death of Cherie Morrisette of Jacksonville. The Mandarin Middle School student body was found on Dec. 8, 1996, floating in the St. John's River about 10 miles south of the apartment she shared with her mother and sister. An autopsy determined that Cherie drowned shortly after her disappearance on Dec. 2, 1996, and was alive when she either fell into the river or was thrown in. Police labeled the death suspicious, and authorities found a small DNA sample on her underwear and body. Mitchell lived in nearby Middleburg at the time of the girl's death, police said Thursday.
