Skull Found in creek ID'd as 5-year-old White girl Emily Rimel - kidnaped, raped and murdered by black   A skull found in a creek earlier this week has been identified as that of a five-year-old columbus-area girl who disappeared a year and a-half ago. Investigators have identified the remains of Emily Rimel through DNA. Emily was last seen at her home early in the morning on December 7th, 2004. Two people fishing found the skull on Tuesday. The Coroner ays there was trauma to the skull. With confirmation that the remains are those of Emily Rimel, the prosecutor's office can move ahead with plans to seek murder charges against the main suspect. Lindsay Bruce, is serving a 10-year sentence after he was convicted of kidnapping Rimel in December 2004. At the time, Bruce was not charged with murder. While Ohio law does not require the presence of a corpse to charge someone in a homicide, doing so without a body does raise the chances that a jury could acquit. O'Brien says this could easily become a death penalty case based on several factors, including Rimel's age. Over the next few weeks, reports will be written state crime lab investigators and the county coroner's office. Those reports, says O'Brien, will be added to the information already at hand and submitted to the Franklin County grand jury with the goal of charging Bruce with one count of murder. - (Newsroom) - (crime) - (Black-on-White) |
Black youth Demetrick to stand trial as an adult in murder of White woman teacher  Ala. A judge has ordered a 16-year-old Moulton boy charged in the fatal beating of a veteran teacher to stand trial as an adult. Demetrick Young, who was 15 at the time of the alleged attack, pleaded not guilty and remains in custody at the Lawrence County Jail. But a defense attorney said there is no evidence linking her client to the attack. Ouida Brown of Tuscumbia said she plans to appeal Thursday's ruling by District Judge Randel Mullican. Young is charged with murder in the October 26th attack on 55-year-old Judy Jester at the Family Education Campus in Moulton, where she was working an after-school job. Suspect In Rape, Abduction Case Caught Police in Maryland said they've nabbed a suspect in the rape of a woman who was abducted from a grocery store parking lot in Rockville. Montgomery County police said forensic evidence and a bank surveillance photo led them to 25-year-old David Nathaniel Hall, of District Heights. The alleged victim said she was abducted from the Safeway Parking lot in the King Farm community on Tuesday. Her attacker allegedly forced her into her SUV and drove her to Prince George's County, raping her somewhere along the way, police said. She also was forced to withdraw money from an ATM. |
Black Chelsea Bouncer Arraigned On Murder Charges For Shooting 'Hispanics', Denied Bail The bouncer charged in the shooting death of a man outside a Chelsea nightclub Tuesday night has been arraigned on murder and attempted murder charges, and prosecutors say he is also suspected in three other murders in Brooklyn. Stephen Sakai, 30, was denied bail. Police Commissioner Ray Kelly says Sakai is also being investigated in connection with three other murders to which he allegedly confessed while being interrogated Wednesday. In Tuesday night's incident, police say Sakai opened fire outside the club Opus 22 after a group of men refused to leave. Gustavo Cuadros, 25, was shot in the head and killed and his brother Andres Cuadros, 28 was shot in the throat and paralyzed. Two others were wounded. - (crime) |

One of the victims, 2-year-old Avery King, died on Wednesday afternoon as a result of her injuries. On Wednesday morning, a Newton County judge denied bail for Barnes, ordering a mental evaluation. Late on Wednesday afternoon, Paul Casola had the difficult and emotional job of announcing the death of his niece. “I regret to inform you that the brutal attempt to take someone’s life has succeeded. Driver Who Ran Down 5 Denied Bond The injured include 33-year-old Stephanie Casola of Covington, who's listed in stable condition at Atlanta's Grady Memorial Hospital. Her two sons, 4-year-old Jacob and 3-year-old Isaac, were flown to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Scottish Rite along with their 2-year-old cousin, Avery Nicole King. While the boys were listed in stable condition, the little girl is extremely critical. Her mother, 36-year-old Anita King, was treated and released from Newton General Hospital. Police in Covington continued to investigate whether Barnes intended to run over the victims with his vehicle or whether it was an accident. Witnesses said Barnes seemed to intentionally run his Honda Accord over the two sisters and their three children. Two men had punched a woman in her fifties and carjacked her minivan.
Police said she was trying to get her purse out of the van when she was dragged several feet. The carjacked van hit a pedestrian and another vehicle. Demon-posessed black woman Lashaun Harris claims "God Said to Kill Sons" An Oakland woman who allegedly threw her three young sons to their deaths in the San Francisco Bay last October thought she heard the "voice of God" telling her to sacrifice her children, the woman's attorney said Tuesday at a preliminary hearing. Lashaun Harris is charged with three counts of murder, but attorney Teresa Caffese told the court that Harris, 23, was mentally ill on Oct. 19 when she threw the boys into the water at Pier 7. Teacher With 'Superhuman Strength' Yelling that he was "Luke Skywalker" (not "Lando Calrissian") Arrested By Cops   ORLANDO, Fla. -- A high school physical education teacher was relieved of duty Monday after police arrested him over the weekend for allegedly creating a scene outside of a downtown bar and fighting several officers who tried to arrest him. Police first saw David McCann, 30, standing in front of a bar Saturday at 2 a.m., shirt unbuttoned and yelling he was "Luke Skywalker" at passers-by. An officer asked him to leave after McCann allegedly got into a verbal confrontation with two women. McCann then allegedly charged the officer, who sprayed him in the face with an irritant. Life sentence for black attendant for rape of White 82-year-old Mandeville Alzheimer’s patient A former attendant at an assisted-living home has been sentenced to life in prison for raping an 82-year-old Alzheimer’s patient in October 2004. Derrick Garrett, 49, proclaimed his innocence Monday before State District Judge Patricia Hedges issued the sentence. Defense attorney Mike Nunnery, suggested the jury that convicted Garrett was motivated by racism because the victim is an elderly white woman and the defendant is black. But Assistant District Attorney David Weilbaecher said the case was decided by forensic evidence. “This wasn’t a black or white thing,” the prosecutor said. Garrett was convicted Aug. 4, 2005, after a three-day trial — and 16 minutes of jury deliberations. Garrett was working as a caretaker at a Mandeville facility when the attack occurred Oct. 11, 2004, authorities said. Two of his co-workers testified that they became suspicious after seeing him emerge from a bathroom where the woman was found soon afterward with her pants pulled down. 5 Dead After Gunman Opens Fire in a Church in Louisiana  BATON ROUGE, La., May 21 — A man opened fire inside the Ministry of Jesus Christ Church here during a Sunday morning service, killing four in-laws and wounding another before kidnapping his wife and killing her, law enforcement officials said. The man, identified by the police as Anthony Bell of Baton Rouge, also abducted three of his children, including an infant, as the service was nearing its end, the police said.
Jeffery Howard, 47, of Baton Rouge, a church member, said his parents, Gloria and Leonard Howard, were among the dead.
Mr. Howard identified the suspect's slain wife as Erica Bell and said he was her godfather. He said the other two people killed were Deloris McGrew, Mr. Howard's aunt, and Darleen Mills, his cousin. Two sought in connection with kidnapping, rape Bossier deputies are looking for two men suspected of kidnapping and raping a 17 year old girl from Wisconsin. Investigators say Wesley Knowles and Reggie Wilson told the victim and her boyfriend where to buy drugs on Jones Road in Haughton. Witnesses told deputies that at some point the couple was stopped on Jones Road, the female was kidnapped taken to Bossier City and raped several times. Sex offender's wife was day-care operator where a 1-year-old girl was sexually assaulted A registered sex offender, whose wife operated the home-based day-care center in Forest Hill that cared for a 1-year-old girl who is believed to have been sexually assaulted, has surrendered to police in response to a warrant that revoked his parole. Lucious Harris, 35, was being held at the Forest Hill jail. The man voluntarily surrendered to police after a warrant was issued to revoke his parole. The girl was examined by doctors at Cook Children's Medical Center in Fort Worth after her mother noticed blood in her diaper while changing her. Firefighter Charged With Sexually Abusing Child A Metro firefighter was arrested after being accused of sexually abusing a child. Adrian Scott was arrested Thursday night. He was charged with three counts of sexual battery by an authority figure, one count of rape without consent and one count of forcible rape.
Investigators said the victim was 14 years old.
Scott has been placed on paid leave until the investigation is complete.

Black charged with sexually assaulting woman who plunged from high-rise Prosecutors have filed charges against a man accused of sexually assaulting a 21-year-old California woman who later plunged seven stories to the ground at a housing complex on the city's South Side. Marvin Powell, 23, of Chicago was charged Friday with criminal sexual assault and unlawful restraint. Police have been investigating whether the woman accidentally fell, jumped or was thrown from the building. The woman, who was badly injured in the May 8 incident, remained in a hospital in critical condition. Portland: Sex Offender Wanted For Rape The Portland Police Bureau, in cooperation with Crime Stoppers, is asking for your help in finding a wanted registered sex offender. Multnomah County has issued a warrant with a half-million-dollar bail for 35-year-old Masico Laveral Walker, also known as Macio Walker, on one count of first-degree rape. Walker is also a registered sex offender who has failed to register his status with the state. In February of 2005 in Southwest Portland, Walker sexually assaulted an acquaintance. Walker is described as a black male, 5 feet 11 inches tall, 160 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. Walker has been known to travel to and from Las Vegas. Cornell Burbage II, 19, is charged with two counts of second-degree sodomy and one count of second-degree rape. Family outraged as black killer gets stay of execution    It was news the family of a murdered Houston teenager did not want to hear. One of the gang members convicted of brutally raping and strangling her and her friend got a stay of execution 24 hours before that sentence was to be carried out. "His time is up, you know," said Dolph Pena, whose daughter was murdered 13 years ago. "It's time to step up to the plate. Take it like a man."
Pena is so mad that his body shakes and his voice quivers. He had hoped to see one of the men who killed his daughter die by lethal injection Tuesday. "I don't know in God's name how five judges can give this guy a stay," he said. "Maybe they don't remember the trial." Much of Houston does. They remember how 16-year-old Elizabeth Pena and 14-year-old best friend Jennifer Ertman were attacked in June of 1993 as they scrambled to get home before curfew. Testimony showed the girls were repeatedly raped and sodomized, beaten and strangled by shoelaces and belts for an hour. Derrick O'Brien, who was 19 years old back then, was one of three others who confessed and was sentenced to die. "Come on, guys. This is a long time coming. Thirteen years? I wish Elizabeth could have lived another 13 years," said Pena. "I mean, Jesus Christ. You might as well put a knife through me, man." Pena says he was devastated to hear O'Brien's execution stayed. And the reasons, based on unconstitutional cruelty, are infuriating. "I wish to God they could see what Elizabeth went through -- the way she was murdered and raped and stomped over and over for hours and hours. That's cruel," said Pena. " He victimized my daughter. He's just got to lie there and take the needle and go to sleep. I mean, how cruel is that?" "They went to trial. They got a fair trial. They gave them the death sentence," he said. "It's time to die. Man Suspected In 8-Year-Old Murder, 1-Year-Old Sex Assault Police in two jurisdictions are looking for Gary Parham Jr., charged with a murder eight years ago in Prince George's County and a sexual assault one year ago in Montgomery County. Prince George's County police believe DNA evidence shows that Parham killed Theodora Cooper in her apartment eight years ago. "Once you do something like that, you got no boundaries to keep you from doing it again," said the victim's father, Theodore Cooper. "This guy, he's a walking time bomb." Police said Parham knew they were looking for him and taunted them. A Montgomery County woman saw the story and said Parham attacked her a year ago. "I wanted the public to see his face," she said. Houston Police arrest black suspect in multiple rapes Houston police said they've arrested a man suspected in as many as four sexual assaults on the west side. Police arrested Ronald Walker, 25, shortly after midnight on Saturday. He's got quite a rap sheet. Right now, Walker is facing three counts of aggravated sexual assault and one count of sexual assault. But investigators suspect there may be more victims out there.
It was at the Central Park apartments in the 3200 block of South Gessner where the suspect -- believed to be Walker -- sexually assaulted one of his alleged victims. Investigators later released two composite sketches, but say they're actually the same person. Walker has a couple of evading arrest convictions as well as a robbery conviction. Black Man Found Guilty In Savage Attack on 83-year-old White Grandma   WASHINGTON -- A man has been found guilty of beating and robbing an elderly street vendor outside her apartment building near George Washington University. James Dorsey was charged with armed robbery and assault in last May's attack that was captured on videotape by a surveillance camera mounted near the building's loading dock. The images were shown repeatedly on TV, prompting tips from the public. The woman, known as "Grandma," sold shirts, hats, umbrellas and other souvenirs near the Foggy Bottom Metro Station. Each charge against Dorsey carries a maximum of 30 years. Benjamin Bell was a vendor who sold DVDs and CDs in the mall where 23-year-old Mark N. Stetson of N.H., was shot Monday afternoon during an argument. "We are strongly encouraging Mr. Bell to turn himself in. Because he is considered to be armed and dangerous. Police recovered a handgun at the scene. | Gang member convicted in slayings of high school girls set to dieHOUSTON - The first of five gang members convicted in the savage 1993 murders of two Houston high school girls heads to the state's death chamber in Huntsville tomorrow. Derrick Sean O'Brien turned 31 last month. If carried out, he'll become the ninth criminal put to death this year in Texas. On a June night in 1993, 14-year-old Jennifer Ertman and 16-year-old Elizabeth Pena were trying to get home from a friend's house in time to meet their 11:30 p-m curfew. They took a short cut along some railroad tracks. Crossing a trestle, the girls were spotted by members of a gang who called themselves the Blacks and Whites. The boys were drinking beer and initiating a new member. After the girls walked by, one of the boys grabbed Pena. As she screamed, Ertman ran to help. Evidence shows the girls were gang raped for more than an hour and beaten, kicked and otherwise viciously attacked so hard that ribs were broken. Then, they were strangled. Dark Demon Sex Offender Charged With Kidnap-Rape-Kill of White 11-year-old Jacksonville Girl In 1996  Fla. -- A Connecticut sex offender will be returned to Florida to face a murder charge after being linked to the decade-old rape and drowning of an 11-year-old girl through a database of DNA from convicted sex offenders. Robert Shelton Mitchell, 43, was being held on a $5 million bond after being arraigned as a fugitive. He will face first-degree murder and capital sexual battery charges in the death of Cherie Morrisette of Jacksonville. The Mandarin Middle School student body was found on Dec. 8, 1996, floating in the St. John's River about 10 miles south of the apartment she shared with her mother and sister. An autopsy determined that Cherie drowned shortly after her disappearance on Dec. 2, 1996, and was alive when she either fell into the river or was thrown in. Police labeled the death suspicious, and authorities found a small DNA sample on her underwear and body. Mitchell lived in nearby Middleburg at the time of the girl's death, police said Thursday.
