UK: Black American airman has been jailed for 12 years for raping three teenage girls  An American airman has been jailed for 12 years for raping three teenage girls in North Yorkshire. Staff Sergeant James Gardner got the 14, 15 and 17-year-olds drunk before forcing himself upon them. The 34-year-old took advantage of the girls, who all lived in a childrens home in North Yorkshire, while he was serving at the top secret US base at RAF Menwith Hill, near Harrogate. Gardner claimed the teenagers consented to sex with him at his Harrogate flat but a jury last month found him guilty of five counts of rape, two counts of sexual assault and another of attempted rape following a trial in York. continued... Today, Judge Paul Hoffman made reference to Gardner's exemplary career, saying he was a credit to the air force. But the judge added: "You have lost all that, Im afraid, by these convictions." Three charged in slaying, robbery of Mount Vernon businessman  MOUNT VERNON, Ill. (AP) -- Two men and a woman are charged in the robbery and killing of an affluent real-estate developer and philanthropist whose body was found earlier this month in his secluded home near this Jefferson County community. Christopher Watkins, 21, of Mount Vernon was arrested Monday on charges of felony murder and robbery in the shooting death of 53-year-old Randy Farrar, whose body was found July 5. Farrar was shot twice in the head at close range. A judge also has approved arrest warrants charging Krysta DonoHO, 21, and Demetrus Cole, 28, of Mount Vernon, with felony murder and robbery. Lowdown kids carnival worker raped boy AURORA, Colo. -- A man who worked at the popular KidSpree event in Aurora was arrested this week on suspicion of sexually assaulting a 15-year-old boy he had met there, Aurora police said. Jermaine Vaden, 29, was taken into custody after the boy told Aurora police that he had been sexually assaulted by the suspect Monday night. The boy said that he met Vaden at KidSpree on Sunday, July 16, and met up with him the following day. The suspect and the boy ended up at the suspect's home and that's where the sexual assault occurred. Vaden is a convicted sexual offender who served time in Oklahoma for first-degree burglary and forcible sodomy. - (Newsroom) - (crime) |
Sexual Assault Suspect Arrested After Woman Escapes PORTLAND -- A kidnap and sexual assault suspect was arrested after his alleged victim escaped. Michael Allen Nunley faces 14 counts of unlawful sexual penetration, sodomy, sex abuse, kidnap and assault. The victim escaped and a bystander saw her hiding behind a car. Nunley rode his bicycle by, and the woman identified him as her attacker. The bystander called 911. Police set up a perimeter and captured Nunley a short time later. Black Pasco teen arrested for murderr of 'Hispanic"  Dade City, Florida - Pasco County Sheriff's deputies have arrested a 16-year-old boy for first degree murder. The killing happened last week on Blanton Street in Dade City. Investigators say Walter Vickers argued with several people, including 48-year-old Felipe DeJesus-Reyes. Investigators say Vickers went home and got a .357 handgun, walking back toward the spot where he had the earlier argument. Vickers reportedly told detectives that he confronted DeJesus-Reyes and then shot him in the face. Arrest made in Farrar murder  MT. VERNON - A 21-year-old South 17th Street man has been arrested for the murder and robbery of Randy Farrar.Christopher A. Watkins, of the 800 block of South 17th Street was arrested at about 4:35 p.m. Monday afternoon on charges of murder and robbery. According to Jefferson County State's Attorney Gary Duncan, formal charges will be filed against Watkins sometime today. "We'll be filing the first-degree murder charges, robbery and any other charges the evidence will support," Duncan said.
The body of local businessman and Farrar Oil family member Randy Farrar, 53, was found in the morning hours of July 5 at his home, the victim of an apparent gunshot wound. He was found at the bottom of the stairs in his home by his personal assistant who was coming to work after the Fourth of July holiday. Police seek two more suspects in murder State's Attorney Gary Duncan said arrest warrants were issued for Demetrius Cole, a 29-year-old black male, and Krysta Donoho, a 21-year-old white female. Teen Sentenced To 180 Days For Manslaughter An Omaha teenager was in court Tuesday morning to learn her sentence after she pleaded no contest to manslaughter charges. Deshyra Gray made her plea in April in connection with the June 2004 attack. Gray attacked Chasity Wright outside an Omaha restaurant. An autopsy showed Wright suffered a fatal asthma attack caused by the assault. Gray was sentenced to 180 days in jail and five years of probation. The maximum sentence possible was 20 years in prison. Wright's family said after the sentencing that justice was not served. - (crime) - (Newsroom) |
Wilson Pastor Arrested On Sex-Related Charges Involving Minors A Wilson County pastor was arrested Wednesday night on a number of charges ranging from statutory rape to assault. Authorities say Nathaniel Rasberry, 36, of Kenly, repeatedly sexually assaulted two women, now ages 19 and 25, over a period of several years.Rasberry, a pastor of World Vision Outreach Center, had been on the run since August when the Wilson County Sheriff's Office issued warrants for his arrest. Man Charged With Raping, Kidnapping Ex-Girlfriend’s Daughter Confesses to Part of the Crime The Atlanta man police say attacked and raped his ex-girlfriend's daughter confessed to a part of the crime during his first court appearance today. George Henry Frazier III told the judge he didn't need an attorney, and instead wanted to represent himself. Police say Frazier broke into the victim's home and went into her bedroom looking for money, beat her, raped her and then forced her to drive to an ATM and withdraw money. Frazier denied the rape, but admitted to the robbery.

African wife of a missing British pensioner burned him alive  The 26-year-old African wife of a missing British pensioner is to be charged with murdering him after he was found to have been burned alive. Cops said the charred remains of tycoon William West, 76, were close to the couple’s luxury holiday beach home in Gambia. He vanished on July 3 while on a vacation with wife Kate. She claimed he disappeared after popping into a cigar store on a day trip to neighbouring Senegal. Mrs West was originally from Ghana but lived in Gambia with her Nigerian parents. She married Mr West six years ago — when she was 20 — after they met while he was on holiday in Gambia. Schnucks employees shocked after stabbing spree * Supermarket Stabbing Spree Victim Speaks Out  The shocking news of this stabbing spree had spread to all Schnuck's employees by the end of the day. "Very scary," says Porschea Bennett. Both Bennett and her boyfriend work at the Schnuck's on Highway 64. He was inside the store when employee Elartrice Ingram allegedly attacked eight co-workers Friday morning. "I'm glad I wasn't here because I didn't want to get stabbed or anything," says Bennett. Police say Ingram was dropped off at the store around 9:00 am. Minutes later, they say he went on a rampage, armed with two knives. Customer Bill Randolph was at the deli counter at the time. "He immediately ran to one of the girls and stabbed her right down through the shoulder," says Randolph. Co-workers say blood was all over the floor. Rape Survivor Speaks Out After Attacker Arrested Again WILSON, N.C. -- Fourteen years ago, Wendy was raped by Robert Tyler in Wilson's Toisnot Park. While she wanted to tell her story, she did not want to give her last name."He managed to pick me up and throw me to the ground and do what he did," said Wendy. Tyler received a 35-year sentence, but was released in 2005 after serving only 13 years in prison. On Friday, he was arrested again; accused of raping another woman in the same park."I'm not surprised that it happened again," said Wendy. "I was angry that they let him out. Very upset that for the woman that it happened to. It shouldn't have happened."Wendy said she was never notified when Tyler went up for parole in 2005. She said she felt if she had the chance to speak, he would have never been released."It just goes to show, if he's done it again, it was nowhere near long enough," she said. "If they had kept him in for the full 35 years, this woman would not have had this happen to her. She wouldn't have to go through the hell that I'm going through."Wendy offered advice for the latest alleged victim."Be strong," she said. "Don't let him win. Calhoun formerly charged with rape and murder of girl The bond hearing for Reginald Calhoun Saturday morning in Laurel Municipal Court was more of a formality than anything else. But the important aspect of the proceedings was that finally, after 20 years, there was a man who has now been formerly charged with the death of seven-year old Cookie Dean. Calhoun, 38, was placed on $150,000 bond each for the murder charge and for the rape of Dean who was his cousin. Cookie Dean was reported missing Jan. 29, 1985 after her mother, Willie Mae Dean, sent the little girl to the Union Club located at the time on South Fourth Avenue in Laurel. A search by authorities and neighbors didn’t turn up anything until the following day when an LPD officer found Dean’s body in a grown up lot where Hair World is now located on Jackson Street. Cold case rape suspect found in California Police say they’ve finally solved a violent crime that happened nine years ago in uptown Charlotte. Terrance Clovis, 45, was arrested in California and charged with the rape of a 61-year-old woman. Police said Clovis attacked the woman twice on Dec. 7, 1997. “Someone knocked at her door about 11:30 at night,” said Sgt. Darrell Price of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department. “When she answered, he forced his way in and sexually assaulted her.”

Man Found Guilty In Nurse's Rape, Murder Dulie Green was convicted in the death of Beverly Jackson, who was killed in 1995. Police said she was forced into the trunk of her car after being raped by Victor Pastrano and Green. The car was then rolled into a West Dade canal. Black Teen Pleads Guilty in Death of 14-year-old white girl pregnant by 20-year-old black rapist   WICHITA, Kan. -- A teenager pleaded guilty Friday in the killing a pregnant 14-year-old girl, whose body was found partially buried near a wheat field last month. Everett Le Gentry, 17, had waived his right to a hearing in juvenile court and agreed to testify against two other men charged in the case. In court Friday, he told the judge that Elgin "Ray-Ray" Robinson Jr., 20, had asked him to kill Chelsea Brooks because her family wanted to prosecute Robinson for statutory rape. Both Robinson and Theodore Burnett, 49, are charged with capital murder and kidnapping in Chelsea's death, and Robinson is also charged with three counts of sexual intercourse with a child under 14 and one of violating a protective order that the girl's mother obtained for her in February. Imprisoned ex-teacher was felon when hired - homo-raped 17-year-old male Dover High student Dion L. Savage, a former Dover High School teacher who faces multiple counts of rape of a student was hired despite having a felony record for attempting to sexually extort a young man. Savage, 28, is in the Delaware Correctional Center near Smyrna, where he is awaiting trial on 13 counts of rape and related charges that include possession of child pornography and endangering the welfare of a child. He was arrested June 16 after a student told investigators that Savage had kissed him in Dover High's choral room and later offered him money if he would let Savage perform oral sex on him, court records said. Sports: More arrests likely in alleged gang rape of 11-year-old by black footballers  FRESNO, California (AP) -- More arrests are likely in a rape case involving an 11-year-old girl who may have been attacked by as many as 10 men, according to police.
Two arrests have been made in the Saturday attack, and officials said they have identified eight others as persons of interest. Most or all are students at either Fresno City College or Reedley College, police said.
The Fresno Bee reported that police were waiting for analysis of evidence, including DNA samples, before deciding whether to seek charges against six additional Fresno City College football players they had interviewed Sunday about the case. 4 Charged In Brutal D.C. Murder - British Man Has Throat Slashed By Robbers Who Try To Rape His Companion     WASHINGTON -- Alan Senitt, a British anti-Semitism activist and aspiring politician was killed in the wealthy Georgetown area by robbers who slashed his throat and tried to rape his female companion, police said.
Police arrested and charged two men, and two other suspects surrendered to police a few hours later. The four suspects, including a 15-year-old boy, were due in court Monday afternoon. D.C. police spokesman Sgt. Joe Gentile said 25-year-old Christopher Piper and 22-year-old Jeffrey Rice were arrested and charged with felony murder while armed. Piper has also been charged with the attempted sexual assault of Senitt's female companion during the robbery, police said, which took place in the driveway of prominent D.C. developer. Piper grabbed the woman and began dragging her out of sight down a driveway where he tried to pull off her clothes, police said. Lt. Robert Glover said the attacker made a comment "in reference to his intent to commit a sexual assault." Gentile said two other people allegedly involved in the incident, 26-year-old Olivia Miles, who police said drove the getaway car, and a 15-year-old boy turned themselves in to police about 1 p.m., authorities said. Metro police say at 2 Wednesday morning, a man kidnapped a woman who worked at a portable x-ray office near Decatur and Gowan.
Police say he stole one of the office's vans and allegedly raped the woman then dropped her in the desert. Luckily, someone found her. Because the van had a GPS navigation system in it, police were able to find the suspect.
They chased him to a home where the suspect held a homeowner hostage. The owner was able to escape safely. Eventually, the suspect committed suicide inside the home. - (Newsroom) - (crime) |
16-year-old African-American indicted on murder charges  16-year old boy has been indicted on murder charges after police say he helped kill, and then burn the body, of another teenager. James Carter Junior is accused of murdering Kyle Staheli in the desert near Sunrise Mountain.
A second suspect in the case, Swuave Lopez, was killed by police after he tried to escape from custody. Although Carter admitted some involvement, his attorney hopes to get that statement thrown out. Skull Found in creek ID'd as 5-year-old White girl Emily Rimel - kidnaped, raped and murdered by black   A skull found in a creek earlier this week has been identified as that of a five-year-old columbus-area girl who disappeared a year and a-half ago. Investigators have identified the remains of Emily Rimel through DNA. Emily was last seen at her home early in the morning on December 7th, 2004. Two people fishing found the skull on Tuesday. The Coroner ays there was trauma to the skull. With confirmation that the remains are those of Emily Rimel, the prosecutor's office can move ahead with plans to seek murder charges against the main suspect. Lindsay Bruce, is serving a 10-year sentence after he was convicted of kidnapping Rimel in December 2004. At the time, Bruce was not charged with murder. While Ohio law does not require the presence of a corpse to charge someone in a homicide, doing so without a body does raise the chances that a jury could acquit. O'Brien says this could easily become a death penalty case based on several factors, including Rimel's age. Over the next few weeks, reports will be written state crime lab investigators and the county coroner's office. Black Sex Offender Charged With Kidnap-Rape-Kill of White 11-year-old Jacksonville Girl In 1996  Fla. -- A Connecticut sex offender will be returned to Florida to face a murder charge after being linked to the decade-old rape and drowning of an 11-year-old girl through a database of DNA from convicted sex offenders. Robert Shelton Mitchell, 43, was being held on a $5 million bond after being arraigned as a fugitive. He will face first-degree murder and capital sexual battery charges in the death of Cherie Morrisette of Jacksonville. The Mandarin Middle School student body was found on Dec. 8, 1996, floating in the St. John's River about 10 miles south of the apartment she shared with her mother and sister. An autopsy determined that Cherie drowned shortly after her disappearance on Dec. 2, 1996, and was alive when she either fell into the river or was thrown in. Police labeled the death suspicious, and authorities found a small DNA sample on her underwear and body. Mitchell lived in nearby Middleburg at the time of the girl's death, police said Thursday. Redmond Police have arrested two men, one a Redmond resident and the other of Prineville, in connection with the rape and strangulation of a 19 year old Redmond woman. According to Detective Lt. Wayne Shortreed, on Sunday July 23rd shortly after 10 pm officers responded to a report of a possible rape by two known suspects. Patrol officers investigated the scene at NW 8th and NW Birch in Redmond and called detectives for assistance, said Shortreed. Further investigation resulted in the arrest of

AUGUSTINE, Florida (AP) -- One of the men charged with fatally stabbing six people over an Xbox video game system said as he was booked into jail that he had killed someone, a guard testified Tuesday. Michael Salas wrote "I killed someone" on a form requesting protective custody at the Daytona Beach jail August 8, two days after the bodies were discovered, jail guard Eunice Williams said. Williams testified that when she asked him if he had any remorse, Salas replied, "No." "He appeared to be joyful and smiling at the time," Williams said.
NEW YORK -- A man accused of stabbing two tourists walking in Manhattan's theater district told investigators he was angry because they snubbed him when he tried to talk to them, according to a police report. NEW ORLEANS -- A 19-year-old man with a lengthy juvenile record was arrested Thursday in the shooting deaths of five teenagers last month, a crime that brought National Guard convoys rumbling back into town and put a spotlight on increasing violence in the city. Michael Anderson, of New Orleans, was booked on five counts of first-degree murder, city Police Chief Warren Riley said at a news conference. He was believed to be the lone gunman and has a juvenile criminal record that includes nine felony arrests, Riley said.
