Black gunman kills Miami-Dade police officer, wounds 3 more in traffic stop
MIAMI, Florida -- A massive manhunt is under way after four Miami-Dade County, Florida, police officers were shot during a traffic stop Thursday. One of the officers later died, Miami-Dade County Mayor Carlos Alvarez said. Cmdr. Linda O'Brien identified the suspect as Shawn Sherwin Labeet, 25. He should be considered armed and dangerous, she said. The officers had been conducting robbery surveillance at a residential complex. Police said the suspect was "driving erratically" in the complex, and when they tried to stop him he fired a high-powered rifle at the officers. "Witnesses said it sounded like machine gun fire, very rapid fire," a police spokesman said. "It was very deliberate to intentionally fire upon ... and kill a police officer." - (Dark Crime forum)

Wanted gunman tied to 1972 black racist mass killer fugitive
Shawn LaBeet, wanted in Thursday's shooting attack on four Miami-Dade police officers, is the half-brother of a notorious mass murderer and fugitive from justice. Shawn Labeet was not yet born in 1972 when Ishmael LaBeet and four associates killed eight people at a St. Croix resort, Carambola. The five -- all dressed in fatigues -- sprang out of the bushes at the Rockefeller-owned Fountain Valley golf course in St. Croix and sprayed the dining area with bullets. According to newspaper accounts of the 1972 massacre, the attackers rounded up as many as 15 people into a nearby patio. Four Miami residents were among them. Eight were ordered to kneel in a circle and systematically shot to death with a shotgun and .45-caliber and 9mm pistols. The four from Miami, two couples vacationing together, were among the dead.
The five black robbers, who had screamed racial, anti-white insults during the massacre, according to witnesses, then fled with $731 from the cash register and the personal effects of the dead.

Black Gets 2nd Life Sentence in Serial Slayings
Mich. - A convicted serial killer was sentenced to life in prison Thursday for the 1974 slaying of a 19-year-old Western Michigan University student. Coral Eugene Watts, 53, is already serving a life sentence in the 1979 death of 36-year-old Helen Dutcher in the Detroit suburb of Ferndale. In July, a jury convicted Watts in the death of Gloria Steele. A first-degree murder conviction carries a mandatory prison sentence of life without parole. Watts also is suspected of slaying three Ann Arbor women in the early 1980s, but he has never been charged with those crimes. Watts, a native of Inkster, which also is near Detroit, has admitted to killing more than a dozen women but denied having anything to do with Steele's death. Tens of thousands of immigrant workers will be forced to learn English before they are allowed into Britain under a plan Prime Minister Gordon Brown is expected to announce tomorrow in a speech to the Trades Union Congress in Brighton, informed sources revealed yesterday. The rules, expected to reduce the number of people entering Britain by (only) 35,000 a year, will affect those from countries outside the European Union who are seeking to work and settle permanently in Britain. "Those who we welcome into the UK to work and settle here need to understand our traditions and feel that they are part of our shared national culture," Home Secretary Jacqui Smith said. "They need to integrate into our country, learn English and use our language."

"Hispanic" Gang-Rape suspect Eleazar Renteria pleads guilty
Eleazar Renteria, the second of two men charged in the 2006 rape of a 14-year-old girl pleaded guilty to a lesser charge Friday. Renteria was arrested in July 2006 after the victim identified him as one of two men who raped her at a party in a home in the 10700 block of East 166th Street in Noblesville. HOUSTON -- A man was arrested Friday, accused of attacking, raping and robbing a pregnant teenager in her northwest Houston home.
