Black charged in 1999 rape of woman, 81 It was a rape case no one could forget. An 81-year-old woman left her apartment on Christmas Eve 1999 to deliver cookies to a neighbor’s doorstep. When she returned to her apartment, a man followed. He shoved her inside and attacked her. “We all remembered the case because of her injuries,” sex crimes Detective Janna Eikel said. “You look at the photos of her, and it makes you want to cry.” Now police may have solved the case. Jackson County prosecutors filed six felony charges against a convicted burglar after DNA linked him to the unsolved rape. Terry U. Black Georgetown man pleads guilty to rape A Georgetown man accused of sexual assaults in four Central Kentucky counties could be sentenced to 70 years in prison for two in Lexington. Trevor Devon Johnson, 40, pleaded guilty yesterday afternoon to raping two women in Fayette County in 1993. Johnson was charged as a result of DNA evidence entered into a national database after a 2003 Scott County sexual abuse conviction. One victim was attacked in August 1993 while walking. The other was attacked in December of that year in a parking lot of a restaurant. Johnson held a knife to the woman, forcing her to drive to a secluded location where he raped her. - (Newsroom) - (crime) |
No jail time for black former principal convicted of rape of student  TACOMA, Wash. -- A former Tacoma middle school principal who was convicted in the rape of a former student will not serve any jail time. A judge on Friday sentenced Harold Wright Jr. to six months in jail, then immediately stayed the sentenced, which allows Wright to remain free while he appeals. Black Broward Deputy Officially Charged With Rape Of Inmate A corrections deputy with the Broward Sheriff's Office was accused of rape by an inmate, and charged Friday with rape and kidnapping, according to jail records.
Charles Edward Floyd, 37, was being held without bond at the Broward County Jail late Friday on one count of kidnapping and two counts of sexual battery.
A female inmate told detectives that Floyd forced her to have sex while she was handcuffed. He allegedly did this after he picked her up from a Broward jail on June 13th. - (Newsroom) - (crime) |

 MINNEAPOLIS -- Former University of Minnesota football player Dominic Jones appeared in court Thursday on rape charges. The jury trial is scheduled to begin November 13, 2007. Judge Marilyn Rosenbaum's ruled that Hennepin County must hand voer a copy of the cell phone video to defense attorney Earl Gray to use with expert witnesses. The judge also ruled the county must give the victim’s information to the defense tea, but that Dominic Jones cannot get the information. Black arrested in connection with city rape A man with a history of arrests for robbery and sexual assault in Baltimore County and the city has been charged with raping a 59-year-old woman during a home invasion robbery last week. Chaz Ricks, 20, was arrested and is being held. City police were looking last night for a second man involved in the crime. The woman was still in the hospital last night, police said, because her back was injured in the attack. The men took $7 from her purse. She told them that she was a grandmother, and that she was preparing for a party for her grandchildren.
One man lifted her off the floor, carried her upstairs to her bed and threw her on the bed facedown. She begged him not to rape her, according to the documents, and he ignored her. - (Newsroom) - (crime) |
Rape charges filed against black male 7 years before arrest MILWAUKEE -- Prosecutor Norm Gahn filed had what he thought was strong evidence: the rapist's semen, taken from five young victims. The man charged in the rapes, Rodney Washington, appeared in court Thursday and waived his right to a preliminary hearing after four victims testified. . John Doe No. 5 -- with a genetic code that prosecutors say matches Washington's -- was charged March 17, 2000, with four counts of first-degree sexual assault, one count of second-degree sexual assault and three counts of robbery. The rapes occurred in Milwaukee between March 1994 and January 1995. Washington, 49, is accused of approaching the females -- who ranged in age from 14 to 20 -- on the street. CHICAGO -- A Cook County judge on Thursday found a homeless woman unfit to stand trial for allegedly starting a fire inside a Wrigleyville apartment building that killed four people in March. The Judge remanded Mary Smith to a mental facility ward in an attempt to restore her mental health so she may one day be able to stand trial. Earlier this year, Smith pleaded not guilty to 12 counts of murder and nine counts of arson. Smith is accused of setting a fire in an interior stairwell - Smith said she lost her shoes that night and her feet were cold. A witness who described seeing Smith in the building vestibule prior to the blaze had given the 44-year-old woman a dollar bill. Smith lit the fire with a dollar bill, according to prosecutors, but it was not clear if it was the same bill. She fled the building as the fire moved rapidly up the stairs.
