(Black) grandson accused of slashing 79-year-old grandma's throat Gladys Milbourne's apartment was a testament to her faith. The shelves teemed with Bibles, and a plaque on the wall honored her ordination as a minister. But the Chester Towers apartment in which Milbourne celebrated her faith all too soon became her own shrine. On Monday, police, who were called to her residence for a well-being check, found Milbourne, 79, "sitting on the couch upright . . . in a state of decomposition," according to the affidavit. Her neck had been cut open with a kitchen knife, her chest was bruised and her gown bloodied, but the crime scene was "immaculate," said a police detective. Hours later, her 22-year-old grandson, Maurice Milbourne, was arrested and charged with murder after confessing to killing her. Black Milwaukee Alderman Indicted, Jailed A Milwaukee alderman accused of shaking down business owners in his district must remain behind bars until his trial, a federal judge ruled. A federal grand jury indicted Michael I. McGee Jr. on Tuesday on five felony counts of bribery, three of extortion and one financial-related violation. U.S. District Judge Rudolph T. Black Serial Rape Suspect Arrested in San Diego VACAVILLE, Calif. -- Police said a man who they believe has terrorized women for years is under arrest. Victor Lamar Davis Jr., 24, of Vacaville, was arrested in San Diego on Tuesday after Vacaville and San Rafael police obtained physical evidence linking him to a June 22 Elda Drive home invasion in which two women were bound and one of the women was sexually assaulted. - (Newsroom) - (crime) |
