  • Serbia Toughens Its Stand on Kosovo
BELGRADE, Serbia -- Serbia toughened its stand on Kosovo Tuesday as parliament decided that a planned new constitution would refer to the disputed province as an "integral" part of Serbia, regardless of U.N.-led negotiations on whether to grant it independence. The parliamentary vote effectively ruled out Belgrade's consent if the international talks decide in favor of the majority ethnic Albanians who want the province to be independent.

  • Los Angeles: Reputed Israeli Mob Enforcer Sentenced
Hai Waknine, 35, pleaded guilty in June to using extortion and threats of violence to help an organized crime syndicate known as the Jerusalem Group launder nearly $2 million in embezzled funds. Authorities say the syndicate enriched itself through loan sharking, extortion, money laundering and illegal gambling in Israel, Europe and around the U.S. Waknine, an Israeli national who lives in Marina del Rey, asked for leniency during sentencing Monday. But U.S. District Judge Manuel Real, citing Waknine's extensive criminal history, gave him 13 months in prison beyond the nine years that prosecutors recommended.
  • Clarett's Attorney: My (black footballer) Client Was Bankrolled By An (Israeli) Mobster
Maurice ClarettMaurice Clarett" It’s like Goodfellas with a healthy dose of Manischevitz, according to Maurice Clarett’s attorney Nick Mango in an exclusive report by ESPN. In seeking to explain why his client may have been in fear for his life, Mango has offered that Israeli Hai Waknine bankrolled Clarett with the expectation that Clarett’s NFL contract would pay him back, ESPN reported. Waknine is a convicted felon whom prosecutors believe is connected to the Israeli mafia enclave known as "The Jerusalem Group." ESPN broke the story last night when it was announced that Clarett had received a threatening postcard from the Los Angeles area. Clarett has claimed to have received numerous such death threats over the past year and Mango asserts that this could be why his client was arrested earlier this month while driving a truck filled with firearms by police in Columbus, Ohio. After a short chase, officers subdued Clarett and found him to be wearing a bulletproof vest. When the officers inspected his Clarett’s truck, they found a hatchet, an assault rifle and three handguns. - (Sports)

Mark GoudeauPhoenix residents who have been on edge as police struggled to solve two serial killer cases are breathing a hesitant and cautious sigh of relief. In the past year, the "Baseline Killer" is suspected of killing eight people, sexually assaulting 11 women and girls and committing several robberies. There were no breaks in the case until Wednesday, when police arrested 42-year-old Mark Goudeau in two sexual assaults thought to be tied to the Baseline Killer. But police say they've only connected Goudeau through evidence from two sexual assaults, committed on the same night against two sisters, one of whom was six months' pregnant. - (Newsroom) - (crime)

Denoscription, car lead to rape suspect Adolpho Lopez
Adolpho LopezALBUQUERQUE -- A woman was in her apartment late Wednesday morning when she heard a loud noise coming from her infant son's bedroom. When she went to check on what happened, she found a man standing on a bed. She told police he ordered her to put the baby in the crib, then he raped her and took her television set and keys. The woman gave police an excellent denoscription of her alleged attacker, and the man himself helped police by taking the woman’s car, according to investigators. Police found the vehicle and interviews with witnesses in the area led them to the suspected rapist, Adolpho Lopez, 49. He was arrested and is being held under a $100,000 cash-only bond. Police said the woman also picked Lopez out of a lineup, and that DNA evidence from the crime scene could place Lopez there. - (Newsroom)

14-year-old accused of sexually assaulting a 12-year-old girl
Robert FountainOMAHA, Neb. -- Court documents detail new information about a 14-year-old who is accused of sexually assaulting a 12-year-old girl. The suspect raped a girl a knifepoint in her bedroom and then attempted to break in two more times. Authorities became suspicious of Robert Fountain after he told officers that he saw someone running from the scene of the crime. Evidence found in the Fountain's home connected him to the case. An officer was in place in the alleged victim's bedroom when a person matching the denoscription of the suspect in the original attack tried to break in. - (Newsroom) - (crime)

  • Sodomy Is A Crime- by Jim Rudd
After confronting people out on the street with what the Word of God says and then reading what is happening in the news, I have to ask the question, "Why are the pro-family groups having such a hard time discussing the crime of sodomy?" What has become evident to me is the fact that most of these groups do not publicly address sodomy as a crime and then demand that our civil authorities arrest, prosecute, and punish the sodomites.

  • Is Bush the Antichrist? - By Chuck Baldwin - The Covenant News ~ April 12, 2002
During the eight years of Clinton's presidency, I was repeatedly asked, "Chuck, do you think Bill Clinton is the antichrist?" (Of course, I answered no.) Therefore, it is more than interesting to me that since G.W. Bush became president no one has asked if I thought he was the antichrist. Not one single person! Instead, many people attribute to Bush god-like qualities, which actually makes him a better candidate than Clinton was.

The Naked President by Chuck Baldwin
"naked president"I well remember back in the 2000 elections many conservatives (especially conservative Christians) attempting to assuage my trepidation and misgiving regarding then candidate George W. Bush by saying, "Chuck, don't worry; Bush cannot act like a conservative, because he wouldn't be able to get elected [Funny how it didn't stop Ronald Reagan!] if he did. But be assured that once he is elected, you will see his true conservatism." - (Commentary)
