• Trinidad-Born Hindu Priest Charged With Sexually Abusing Two Teenage Sisters
  QUEENS, N.Y., Fri. Sept. 8, 2006, 1:42 p.m.: A former Trinidad police officer, now an ordained Hindu priest in Queens has been charged with sexually abusing two teenage parishioners and raping one of them by tricking her into participating in a purported religious cleansing ritual that would rid her of evil spirits. The District Attorney identified the defendant as Ramadhar Ramlal, 59.  He is the pastor of the USA Pandits Parishad Church. The defendant then allegedly began to chant, put coins on various parts of her body and rub her with oil from head to toe... (later) the defendant drove her to the Econo Lounge and performed a similar ritual.  The defendant then allegedly placed the victim on her stomach, moved her to her hands and knees and stated, "Now I have to do this to complete the ritual and I am sorry but I have to do this," and raped her. Ramlal is also accused of touching the girl 13-year-old sister's breasts...

Denoscription, car lead to rape suspect Adolpho Lopez
ALBUQUERQUE -- A woman was in her apartment late Wednesday morning when she heard a loud noise coming from her infant son's bedroom. When she went to check on what happened, she found a man standing on a bed. She told police he ordered her to put the baby in the crib, then he raped her and took her television set and keys. The woman gave police an excellent denoscription of her alleged attacker, and the man himself helped police by taking the woman’s car, according to investigators. Police found the vehicle and interviews with witnesses in the area led them to the suspected rapist, Adolpho Lopez, 49. He was arrested and is being held under a $100,000 cash-only bond. Police said the woman also picked Lopez out of a lineup, and that DNA evidence from the crime scene could place Lopez there. - (Newsroom)

Jimenez raped his 91-year-old neighbor
An 18- year-old South River man has been arrested on charges that he raped his 91-year-old neighbor in June at knife-point. Jason Jimenez was taken into custody and charged with aggravated sexual assault after his DNA linked him to the crime, authorities announced yesterday. Arlene Figueroa, who answered the door at Jimenez's home and identified herself as his sister, said the family did not wish to comment last night. Neighbors said Jimenez has lived in the neighborhood about five years. The woman was home alone when Jimenez slipped into the house through a rear basement door, brandished a knife and sexually assaulted the her, authorities said. He took money and jewelry after raping her, authorities said. - (Newsroom)

Rape results in 40-year sentences
Two men accused of posing as FBI agents to gain access to an apartment and rape a woman last year remained in the Greene County Jail on Friday, awaiting transfer to a state prison. Circuit Judge Miles Sweeney on Friday sentenced the pair, convicted in June, to at least 40 years in prison for the crimes. Keith Liles, 39, and Jaime Molina, 32, were each found guilty of burglary, robbery, armed criminal action, forcible rape and forcible sodomy.

  A learning specialist at a Roman Catholic high school in Rancho Santa Margarita was arrested Thursday on suspicion of sexually assaulting one of his students. Evan Molina, 23, was taken into custody after a student at Santa Margarita Catholic High School, where he had been teaching for 11 months, reported the alleged assault to her parents, said a spokesman for the Orange County Sheriff's Department. The teenager, whose age was not specified, was allegedly assaulted off campus, he said. Molina was booked on one count of rape with a foreign object with bail set at $100,000.

• Keith Leonard, 51, of South Londonderry Twp., is accused of raping the boy
  in summer 2000 at his family's home along School House Road. Leonard is charged with rape, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse and related charges. Leonard was convicted of raping the boy's older brother, who is now 16. Leonard gagged, tied to a couch and sexually assaulted the older boy in 2000 or early 2001, when he was 10 or 11 years old.
