White Defendant Acquitted of Murdering Ky. Student   Lucas Goodrum, 23, could have gotten the death penalty if found guilty of killing 18-year-old Katie Autry, who died of her burns at a hospital three days after being pulled from her smoldering room in 2003. The prosecution relied heavily on the testimony of Goodrum's former
co-defendant, Stephen Soules. The two were at the same fraternity party as Autry
the night of the attack, and prosecutors said they followed her back to her
room.
Soules pleaded guilty a year ago to raping and killing Autry, and implicated Goodrum. Soules escaped the death penalty and received life in prison for his testimony. - (forum) |
Couple Charged With Sexual Assault Of Child  KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Disturbing allegations out of Kansas City as a mother and her boyfriend are accused of sexually assaulting an 11-year-old girl. Authorities say 43-year-old Terry Hogan and 35-year-old Audrey Rowland Turner both sexually abused Rowland Turner's 11-year-old daughter.It allegedly happened in the 5400 block of Wabash.The details are too graphic to disclose. - (White Boy) |
Daniel Hines to appear in court for attempted rape CLEVELAND -- A learning-disabled handyman acquitted of the kidnapping and killing of an 11-year-old Cleveland girl will be back in court Monday. This time, 26-year-old Daniel Hines is accused of trying to rape his 13-year-old cousin months before Shakira Johnson was killed in 2003. Local rape suspect held in Texas jail A local man facing a 31-count indictment of rape, sexual battery and aggravated kidnapping has been arrested in Texas on additional charges. Angelo Tyrone Cooper, 34, who previously gave a 4116A Dixie Road address, had been free on bond from the Clarksville charges when he was arrested March 8 in San Antonio. A clerk in the Bexar County Sheriff's Office in Texas said Monday Cooper was charged with domestic assault causing bodily injury and interfering with an emergency telephone call, in addition to being held on Tennessee charges. A bail amount of $1,005,000 was set by Texas authorities. - (forum) |

Alejandro Avila charged with kidnapping and murdering 5-year-old Samantha Runnion went on trial Monday. Samantha was kidnapped on July 15, 2002, as she played with a friend outside her
family’s apartment. Her nude body was found a day after her disappearance. He faces the death penalty if convicted of kidnapping, sexually assaulting and
murdering the girl.

Berkeley: Elderly woman's throat slashed in apparently random assault by African girl   Residents of the affluent and picturesque Berkeley hills were stunned Thursday to learn that an elderly woman walking by the Rose Garden had her throat slashed by a young woman in an apparently random attack. The 75-year-old victim, whose name was not released, was walking with her husband along the 1200 block of Euclid Avenue near their home -- in a verdant, low-crime area of graceful houses and stunning views -- at 6:40 p.m. Wednesday when the attempted homicide occurred, Berkeley police said.
Police described the slasher as African American, 5-feet 5-inches to 5-feet 10-inches tall, with black hair and thin build and wearing a gray sweatshirt and sweatpants. Her accomplice was reportedly the same age, 5-feet to 5-feet 5-inches tall with brown hair. "The random and violent nature of this attack is very concerning to us,'' homicide Sgt. Albert Page was arrested Thursday and charged in connection with a rape  Albert Page, 34, 1100 S. Baldwin Ave., Lot 72, was charged with rape, intimidation, domestic battery and confinement. According to police reports, Page picked up a 28-year-old Marion woman up from work Wednesday and brought her home. The rape occurred after they arrived home at about 9:30 p.m., police said. |

A student went on a shooting spree Monday afternoon in a Northern Minnesota high school, allegedly killing nine people and wounding as many as 15 others before turning the gun on himself, officials said. A preliminary investigation indicated the suspect apparently first shot his
grandparents, then went to the school where he allegedly shot a security guard,
exchanged fire with police officers and opened fire on other students before
killing himself. The suspect is identified as 17-year-old Jeff Weise, a junior at the school, according to The Associated Press, other students and tribal leaders. The Associated Press reported Weise may have posted messages last year on a neo-Nazi Web site calling himself "Angel of Death" and expressing admiration for Adolf Hitler. 
Without saying anything, a woman believed to be 17 to 20 years old hacked the victim's neck with a knife and then, accompanied by another young woman, got into a light blue BMW M3 convertible and sped away, Officer Joe Okies said. The victim did not know her attackers," Okies said. "No words were exchanged between the victim and her attackers prior to the stabbing.''
