Canada: AIDS-infected African migrant charged with murder-by-sex of two women - (so far) Following the deaths of two women he's alleged to have unwittingly infected with the virus that causes AIDS, an Ontario man has been charged with first-degree murder. John Apanga Aziga was originally charged with endangering the lives of 12 women who had been his sexual partners. All of the women said 48-year-old Aziga never told them he was HIV-positive. Seven of the women in the case contracted HIV. One died in May of last year and the other died in December 2003. - (H. Accused Black Killer of White Boy "Not Competent To Stand Trial"  A judge in Alexandria ruled that Gregory Murphy was still not competent to stand trial for allegedly killing 8-year-old Kevin Shifflet in 2000.
The boy was stabbed to death as he played in front of his grandmother's home in Alexandria's Del Ray neighborhood.

Police Arrest Rape Suspect After Search; Take His Mother Into Custody KANSAS CITY, Kan. -- After about 90 minutes of searching, police captured a rape suspect late Friday morning. They also took his mother away in handcuffs. Police received a tip that Joe Burgin, 32, was allegedly staying at his mother's house in the 4100 block of North 108th Street, When they went there, they said Burgin climbed out a side window of the house and fled, so the pursuit began. - (White Boy) |
Judge Sets Bond For Wrigleyville Rape Suspect - Cruikshank Recently Denied Bail  CHICAGO -- A judge set a $60,000 cash bond Friday for a 25-year-old man previously held without bail after being charged with attacking two women in Wrigleyville and one in Forest Park.
Criminal Court Judge Marcus Salone set the bond for Paul Cruikshank, who had previously been denied bond in the December 2004 attacks. Cruikshank forced a 23-year-old woman into her apartment building at gunpoint,
striking her multiple times in the head, according to Rajk. Once inside the
woman's apartment building, Cruikshank forced her to undress and tied her to the

Chattanooga Police Sergeant Charged With Extortion, Bribery  The FBI said Friday it had arrested Chattanooga Police Sgt. Gerry M. Davis on charges of extortion and bribery. FBI agent Clark said a long-term investigation "revealed multiple incidents where Davis used his official position of authority to extort individuals and businesses in the Chattanooga area." The FBI is asking that individuals "who have been affected by these acts of official misconduct" to come forward. Clark said it is believed that some people "have been hesitant to come forward for fear of reprisals from Davis." Investigators said they are seeking information on an incident at Club

Judge triples sentence for 'barbaric' kidnap and gang rape by Mohammad Hasan "The acts that were testified to were the most odious and offensive this court has ever seen," Judge Rudy Nichols told Hasan, exceeding the recommended sentencing guidelines of up to 29 years and eight months. "It is not an overstatement to use the word 'barbaric.' " Mohammad Hasan was convicted last month of kidnapping a woman and her male companion from Clutch Cargo's on Jan. 20, 2002, running the man over with a car, then repeatedly raping the woman in his River Rouge home, along with two other men, before taking her to Belle Isle, where he beat her and slammed her against a tree before leaving her. Ali Tleis, 21, and Erik Muehlenbein, 24, are serving prison sentences ranging from eight to 60 years for participating. |

A judge sentenced an Illinois convict to life in prison without parole after he pleaded guilty to fatally strangling Heather Teegarden six years ago in a case that was unsolved until a search of prisoners' DNA samples linked him to the crime. Two Arrested on Terrorism Charges U.S. marshals have arrested two people in what is being described as the first case of terrorist charges filed in Mississippi. It is a case of two Afro-Americans allegedly willing to provide false identification to members of a foreign and dangerous terrorist organization in exchange for money and drugs. Lamont Ranson and Cedric Carpenter made their initial appearance in U.S. District Court after being arrested. Ranson faces three counts: conspiracy to provide material support to terrorists; conspiracy to defraud the united states and attempt to provide material support to terrorists. Carpenter faces those same charges plus possession of a firearm by a convicted felon; conspiracy to possess a controlled substance with intent to distribute and criminal forfeiture. - (Tyrone N.
