Brown pleads guilty to raping a 15-year old girl in a Syracuse hospital  The trial for a man charged with raping a 15-year old girl in a Syracuse hospital will not happen. Arthur Brown pleaded guilty this morning to a charge of rape in the 3rd degree. Brown was accused of going to Crouse Hospital's pediatric unit with another man to visit the victim's roommate back in July. The roommate and the other man left the room, and that's when police say Brown raped the teenager. Brown contends there was no force involved and that the victim claimed to be of age. Jury selection was supposed to start Monday. But, Brown decided to plead guilty after a lengthy courtroom debate with Judge Walsh. - (Brewski) - (crime) |
John Hicks, 49, was executed Tuesday in Ohio Ohio carried out the nation's 999th execution since 1977 on Tuesday, putting to death a man who strangled his mother-in-law while high on cocaine and later killed his 5-year-old stepdaughter to cover up the crime. John Hicks, 49, was put to death a day after Eric Nance was executed in Arkansas for killing a teenager by slashing her throat with a box cutter. Hicks offered a tearful apology for the 1985 murders in an interview earlier this month with Ohio Parole Board members, and said he loved both victims -- 56-year-old Maxine Armstrong and 5-year-old Brandy Green. Black Convicted On DNA Evidence For 1973 Rape of White Woman Is Sentenced  A man who was convicted after DNA identified him as the rapist in a 32-year-old case was sentenced to up to 46 years in prison for what the judge called a "brutal and heinous crime." Fletcher Anderson Worrell, 58, received the maximum 8 1/3 to 25 years for first-degree rape, and seven to 21 years for first-degree robbery, with the sentences to run consecutively. Worrell was convicted Nov. 9 for the June 26, 1973, attack on Kathleen Ham during an invasion of her Chelsea apartment. Ham, who is now 58 and a lawyer, lives in California. Sketch released in University of Delaware coed abduction tries Newark police released a composite sketch Monday of the man who attempted to abduct two University of Delaware students, but they still have not identified a suspect. The two women, one 19, the other 20, were approached separately by the attacker, who was driving a tan or gold Isuzu Trooper SUV, about 2:30 a.m. Friday. Police said the students were walking alone, one at a parking lot near the first block of N. College Ave. and the other in front of the Trabant University Center at Main Street and South College Avenue. - (Rule .308) - (crime) |
Latino lover, Quinn Cruz, Jr. charged with murder of pregnant White woman and her unborn child   EL PASO, TX. - Nearly a week after the shooting death of a west side mother, the case takes a shocking turn. 25 year-old Tonya Marie West was pregnant at the time of her death. Ms. West was fatally shot several times in the parking lot of the Crest Apartments, as she loaded her two year old daughter in a car seat. After an extensive manhunt, police arrested 29 year-old Quinn P. Cruz, Jr. and charged him with murder. - (White Boy) - (crime) Investigators said West and Cruz had lived together but had recently split. They had been arguing when West was shot multiple times. Police Seek Black Man For Questioning in Murder of White Bicyclist   KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Police asked for help from the public finding a man they wanted to question about the death of a man who was shot while riding his bicycle. Robert Osborn was riding home from his job at an Independence, Mo., Hy-Vee grocery store on Nov. 20 when he was killed. Police were looking for Fabian Brown, 20, of Kansas City. He was known to be armed and dangerous, police said, so they urged people not to approach him and to call the TIPS Hotline at (816) 474-TIPS to report his whereabouts. Prosecutors charged another man, Rapheal L. Willis, 19, of Kansas City, Mo., with first-degree murder and armed criminal action in Osborn's death. Convicted Rapist Sentenced to 70-years-to-life  Quan Jordan has now been convicted of raping three different women, starting when he was 14-years-old, but his latest attack will likely be his last. It all happened at the Albany Club apartments in April. Two young women were moving in and they were being watched."I was trying to take a bath when he came into the bathroom and put a gun to my head and said if I said anything he would shoot me," says one victim. Then, Jordan went into another room and raped the second woman. The first was praying."I just called the name of Jehovah and just said, 'Jehovah why this, why this,'" she says. Former Dollar General Employee Released From Jail - the White woman who replaced him was beaten to death   Kan. - Authorities released a former Bonner Springs Dollar General from jail after he made bond. Police had arrested him for allegedly stealing from the store. The man worked at the same Dollar General where someone killed store manager Robin Bell earlier in the month. Someone beat the 44-year-old Tonganoxie, Kan., woman to death in the store. Police were investigating her death, and they had a person of interest in the case in custody but they would not identify that person. Prosecutors charged Aaron Clark, 19, for allegedly stealing about $1,600 from the same store. Bell's husband said that Clark had been fired from the store for the alleged theft. Black woman accused of attempted murder of a 13-year-old White girl on school bus does not show up for court   A warrant was issued for the arrest of a Central Florida mom caught on tape beating a student on a school bus when she did not show up for court Monday. Rita Gooden, 39, was originally charged with felony attempted murder last year after investigators said she attacked and choked a 13-year-old girl on a school bus earlier this year. Police said Rita Gooden entered a bus out of Oak Park Middle School in March after her 12-year-old daughter and another girl got into a fight with another student. Man Arrested After Allegedly Stabbing Co-Worker at McDonald’s  Conn. -- A 19-year-old woman was allegedly stabbed in the neck by a co-worker at the McDonald’s next to the Brass Mill mall in Waterbury. Waterbury police said Willie Bryant, jr., a convicted felon, allegedly stabbed a co-worker twice in the neck with a penknife. The victim and Bryant were working side by side in the back part of restaurant when the attack occurred, according to police. Co-workers physically restrained Bryant. Police said Bryant has prior convictions for assault, larceny and assault on a police officer. They also said he has four prior misdemeanor convictions as well. - (guru2000) - (crime) |
Burger King slashing by black follows McDonald's stabbing First, a McDonald's employee in Waterbury was accused of stabbing a co-worker in the neck. Now, a Burger King worker in nearby Watertown has been charged with slashing the throat of a customer who complained about a food order. Police have charged 41-year-old Harold Lee Lewis with first-degree assault, after they arrived at the Main Street fast-food outlet to find the 34-year-old customer bleeding profusely. Pastor Charged With Raping Teen Girl Church Member  The head of Refuge Temple in Syracuse now faces rape and sodomy charges. A 15 year-old parishioner says he sexually attacked her at his home multiple times from May 2004 until March of this year. Pastor Jaree Jones has led the Refuge Temple for the past three years. He was active in youth groups and Sunday school. The victim’s parents say their daughter told them the alleged sexual attacks happened after many of these sessions. These same parents say they trusted Jones during tough times, instead of helping they say the 30 year old preyed on their teenage daughter. They say he would pick their daughter up from school without them knowing. Jones was arrested last week. He posted $2500 bail but failed to show up. Negro charged in murder of White woman - Grosse Pointe's first homicide in decades  The man accused of killing Barbara Iske in Grosse Pointe back in June was charged with murder on Friday and is being held without bond. Police have been searching for the killer since June and now believe they caught the right man, 46-year-old Derrick Anthony Thompson. Iske, an accountant from Sterling Heights, was murdered June 14 as she arrived at the Grosse Pointe home where she worked for an elderly woman. The killer shot Iske at close range and then fled. Three black defendants in brutal Deltona "Xbox" baseball bat slayings will stand trial together       DAYTONA BEACH, Florida (AP) -- The trial of three men charged in the 2004 beating deaths of six people was delayed three months on Friday after defense attorneys asked for more time. The judge for the trial said that Troy Victorino, Michael Salas and Jerone Hunter, will stand trial April 10 instead of January 3rd. The men are accused in the deaths of six people and a small dog whose heads were bashed with baseball bats at a house in Deltona. Investigators say Victorino organized the attack to retrieve an Xbox video game system he lost when he was kicked out of a different house. I'm a racist, and I hate all you white boys" The alleged hate crime attack on a Lewis and Clark High School student came after his attacker said, "I want to beat up one of these white boys," according to the affidavit of probable cause filed by Spokane police. Tyson Leroy Brown, 21, of Spokane was arrested on suspicion of malicious harassment, a Class C felony hate crime. Brown also had an unrelated warrant from Oregon. The 15-year-old White victim was intentionally and maliciously assaulted due to his race, according to the affidavit. The victim is white, and the alleged attacker is black. Brown was arrested a few blocks away. While he was being taken to jail, a police officer said Brown called himself a "racist," according to the affidavit. 17-year-old McDonalds parking lot shooting victim's mother speaks out * $2 million bail for shooting suspect Tampa, Florida - Grief counselors are trying to help students at King High School in Tampa deal with the shooting death of a 12th grader. 17-year-old Dalshon Walton was shot to death Thursday in the parking lot of a McDonalds. Three other teens were injured. Witnesses say the shootings were the result of a fight between students and non-students. They say the victim was walking away from the McDonald's when he was killed. The shooting happened just after school let out. Tampa police have now arrested 18-year-old Otis Neal and charged him with three counts of aggravated battery with a firearm. - (Tyrone N.
