Robbery and shooting by three Black males sent a young White Savannah woman to a hospital where she died  3 men approached Jennifer Ross and three friends early Saturday morning. The four were walking through Orleans Square after attending a cotillion when the men demanded the groups money. The robbers pistol whipped one of Ross' friends and another tried to grab her purse. During the struggle, Ross was shot in the back. Her godmother, County Commissioner Helen Stone, is outraged about the recent crime. Police Search for Teen's Killer A 19 year old young woman has become Savannah's first homicide victim of 2006. Jennifer Ross was shot Christmas Eve morning during a robbery attempt. Canada: Foreign Affairs Minister Pierre Pettigrew attacked by black - Good Samaritan punched in face by black  The black Montreal man who is accused of attacking and attempting to rob Foreign Affairs Minister Pierre Pettigrew will spend New Year's Eve in jail before undergoing a psychiatric evaluation. The judge denied bail and ordered the evaluation during a court appearance Friday, claiming he didn't want a "ticking time bomb," roaming the streets. The 24-year-old house painter, Frederick Estelle, has been charged with assault and robbery stemming from an incident Wednesday. Estelle is alleged to have attacked Pettigrew while he was waiting for a train in Montreal. Pettigrew was allegedly accosted by the man who reportedly told him "this is my territory, you have no business here." Pettigrew was talking on his cell phone at the time and attempted to ignore the man. Estelle allegedly then grabbed Pettigrew by the shoulder and attempted to wrestle his cell phone from his hand. A Good Samaritan tried to intervene and was allegedly punched in the face in the process. Police then arrested Estelle, who told them he knew he had attacked "a well known public figure." Unsolved murder of Joy Hayward in Chester Pa.  On February 12, 2004 while a guest at the Days Inn in Chester, Pa. my sister Joy Hayward was brutally beaten, raped, and strangled to death. Assault Charge Filed In Cell Phone Swallowing - Phone Was Lodged In Woman's Throat  KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- A 23-year-old man was charged in connection with a woman who was assaulted with a cell phone. Marlon B. Gill was charged with first-degree assault. Melinda Abell was taken to a hospital when she had trouble breathing. Doctors operated to remove a cell phone that was lodged in her throat. Abell told officers that Gill, her ex-boyfriend, had forced her into a car and demanded to see her cell phone. They were stopped in a parking lot and Abell said Gill grabbed her by the mouth, held it open and shoved the phone down her throat. White mother and black live-in boyfriend charged with first-degree murder in beating death of woman's White 6-yr-old son   Family members of the 24-year-old Cahokia mother who is accused of killing her 6-year-old son say that's not the loved one they know. Starr Lohman's mother, Brenda Watts of St. Louis, said her daughter loved her son, Ryan Smith, very much. Lohman and her live-in boyfriend, Lee D. Crutchfield, 33, were charged Tuesday with the beating death of Ryan, who was found dead Christmas Day in Cahokia. St. Clair County Coroner Rick Stone said the boy was "badly beaten and clearly emaciated." | Two sent to prison for gang rape - His mother called the teen’s sentence “racism.” “That’s all this is — racism,” Deborah West screamed as La Crosse County Circuit Judge Michael Mulroy announced he planned to hand down the maximum sentence to Troy E. West Jr. The 16-year-old from Onalaska, Wis., had been convicted of third-degree sexual assault for his role in the gang rape of a girl at a North Side home in February. But from her seat in the courtroom Thursday, Deborah West shouted that the five years in prison was because her son is black — as are the other three men convicted in the case — and the girl is white. Reavon Taylor, 20, of La Crosse also received five years in prison and five years of extended supervision in the assault. Jarrad Panama, 20, and Miguel A. Arrest Made In Virginia Beach Double Homicide Investigation  An arrest was made in the investigation of a double murder in Virginia Beach, and the motive of the murders may have been money. Carl Lee Walton was arrested Thursday morning. Walton is charged with the murders of 28-year-old Ronique Lavone Ewing and 27-year-old Tonya Dover Smith. The bodies of the women were found Wednesday morning about a mile from the Norfolk International airport. Ewing's body was found inside an SUV that was in a ditch on Tim Road. Smith's body was found a short distance away on Sand Pit Road.Ewing and Walton were childhood friends, and she called him brother. - (Tyrone N. Black man arrested for shotgun murder of 61-year-old White woman  A man is charged with first-degree murder in connection with last week's death of a 61-year-old woman. Trill S. McKinney, 30 also faces charges of armed robbery, aggravated burglary and being a felon in possession of a firearm Deputies found Betty Jean Sweet dead in her home on Sunday with at least one gunshot wound to the chest. Her co-workers alerted the sheriff’s office after they couldn’t reach her by phone and no one answered her door. Investigators say McKinney broke into Sweet’s home with the intention of robbing her, but she panicked and began to scream when he entered the house. That’s when he fired a shotgun at close range. McKinney, who has a criminal history that includes burglary and drug charges, was released jail from 10 weeks before Sweet’s murder. Black Killer gets sentence reduced to life for kidnap-rape-murder of White woman - because one juror read the Bible   '95 death sentence was overturned Rhonda Maloney was kidnapped, raped and slain in 1994. The jury's finding for execution was thrown out because of the use of a Bible during deliberation. A man who kidnapped, raped and murdered a woman in 1994 was sentenced Monday to life in prison without parole. Robert Harlan was originally sentenced to death by an Adams County jury in 1995 for the murder of Rhonda Maloney, 25. But Harlan escaped execution after the Colorado Supreme Court upheld a ruling that jurors in the case improperly consulted the Bible during deliberation. "It could be said you may have avoided the death penalty by a technicality," Adams County District Judge Scott Crabtree told Harlan. On Feb. 12, 1994, Harlan kidnapped and raped Maloney, 25, for hours. She temporarily escaped when motorist Jacquie Creazzo slowed down after spotting the two parked cars. Creazzo sped toward the Thornton Police Department, with Harlan in pursuit. Harlan fired bullets into the good Samaritan's car, hitting Creazzo in the knee, spine and face, causing her to crash. Black only sentenced to 40 days for killing of 13-year-old White girl   A Chesapeake Judge handed down a decision concerning a driver who had been convicted twice of driving on a suspended license. Gerald Haley, Jr., 22, was found guilty of the misdemeanor charge. The charge stemmed from an accident August 9, 2005. Haley was arrested after hitting 13-year-old Kasi Vaughan along Taylor Road. Vaughan was crossing the street when she was hit by the passenger side of Haley's car. She died in the accident. Haley's driving record several convictions. Those convictions include two for driving on a suspended license, as well as nine for speeding. Haley was sentenced to only 40 days and will have to pay a fine. - (Tyrone N. Butts) - (TNB) |

Ohio Jury Convicts Negro of Kidnapping 5-year-old White Girl - Sentenced to only 10 years for kidnap - victim still missing   COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - Jurors convicted a man Friday of kidnapping a 5-year-old girl, but acquitted him of a rape charge that could have brought a mandatory life sentence. The girl is presumed dead, but Bruce was not charged with murder. Lindsey Bruce was charged with kidnapping and raping Emily Rimel, who has been missing since December. She was last seen in her Madison Township home on the night when Bruce was visiting. Rimel's body has not been found and Bruce was not charged with murder.
