Canton Police Arrest Black In Rape Of 5-Year-Old A 26-year-old man has been charged in connection with the rape of a 5-year-old girl, Canton police said Friday. The incident took place Dec. 26 at a Canton apartment complex. The girl was hospitalized after the attack. The results of DNA taken as a result of a rape kit led to the arrest of Challis Lewis, of Canton, the Madison County district attorney and police said. He is charged with burglary, kidnapping and rape of a child. Residents of the Frey's Lane Apartments said Kendria Riley, 26, was baby-sitting the 5-year-old girl and a 12-year-old boy but left them alone in her apartment. Black accused of raping girl, 4, in St. Louis County giving her gonorrhea and chlamydia A man has been accused in court here of sexual contact with a 4-year-old girl that left her with sexually transmitted diseases, officials said. James M. Davis, 19, of East St. Louis, was charged with first-degree statutory rape. According to the arrest warrant, the girl was victimized in a St. Louis County apartment between October 2009 and January 2010. Black sexual assault suspect Tyrone Donte Taylor arrested Portsmouth Police arrested a suspect wanted for sexually assaulting a woman at a party. Tyrone Donte Taylor, 34, is charged with one count of forcible sodomy and one count of object sexual penetration, police said. Black arrested in grandmother, mother's deaths Fayetteville Police have arrested a man months after his grandmother and mother were found dead at their home. Tarae Lamont Mosby, 29, returned to Fayetteville Friday and was formally charged with the murder of his mother, 47-year-old Karen Mosby and his grandmother, 69-year-old Betty Pettigrew. Mosby is charged with 1st degree murder and with larceny of a motor vehicle. He is currently being held in the Cumberland County Jail with no bond. - (Newsroom) - (crime) |

Somali Sex Trafficking Ring In Tennessee And 2 Other States - (November 2010) Twenty-nine people have been indicted in a sex trafficking ring spanning three states and allegedly run by Minneapolis-based Somali gangs. An indictment says one of the goals of the gangs was to recruit females under age 18, including some under age 14, and force them into prostitution in exchange for cash, drugs or other items. The indictment says the sex ring operated in Minneapolis, Nashville, and Columbus, Ohio. The indictment outlines several instances of prostitution. In one case in 2005, a girl under age 14 was transported from Minneapolis to Columbus and Nashville for sex. (Black) teen sentenced to 30 to 60 years in rape of 90-year-old White woman An 17-year-old has been sentenced to between 30 and 60 years in jail for the rape of a 90-year-old woman*. Maurice Randall was sentenced during a court hearing Thursday morning. Another teen, 18-year-old Anthony Hardy, has pleaded guilty and will be sentenced at a later date. A 15-year-old was also charged in the case. During the sentencing hearing Randall angered the judge by refusing to come into the courtroom and listen to what she and the relatives of the victims had to say. Black DeKalb cop arrested, accused of statutory rape A DeKalb police officer is in jail Wednesday on charges of sexual misconduct with a 15-year-old girl, authorities said. Quevius Thornton, 29, was arrested and placed on administrative leave following an investigation by DeKalb police detectives. Black Charged In Rape Of 75-Year-Old Leavenworth Woman A Leavenworth man has been charged in connection with the rape of a 75-year-old woman last month. Andre R. Connally, 19, was arrested Tuesday on charges of rape, aggravated criminal sodomy and aggravated burglary. The charges stem from an incident on Nov. 19 at a house on Idaho Street. The victim told police she had been awakened in the early morning hours by a man in the house. Convicted Black Rapist Linked To Unsolved Slayings A convicted rapist has been linked through DNA to two unsolved slayings, police said. DeAngelo Banks, 25, of Indianapolis, was arrested Thursday on warrants while in the custody of the Indiana Department of Correction. Police said Banks killed Margaret Russell, 45, whose body was found by maintenance workers in an abandoned apartmen in 2009. DNA also linked Banks to the slaying of Debra Harper, 41, in her home November 2009. Suspects, muscle car sought in music store slaying Police are searching for two suspects involved in a deadly shooting at a north Houston store Thursday. Two armed men entered the Urban Soundz record store at 8650 North Houston Rosslyn at about 6:40 p.m. and fatally shot Justin Aaron Conrad, 27, and wounded another man. Police have identified and charged Eric Cooper with the slaying of Conrad. Investigators are also searching for the second suspect. Moss Point authorities seek shooting suspect Mississippi -- The Moss Point Police Department is asking for the public for help in locating a Christmas day shooting suspect. Authorities are seeking Moss Point resident Willie B. Gant in connection to a shooting that took place on Christmas morning at Club Silk, formally know as the Paradise Lounge. Black woman arrested for kidnap, murder and burning of body of 12-year-old White boy Police say a 44-year-old woman charged with capital murder in the kidnapping and death of a 12-year-old Houston boy admitted to discarding a body, but said she didn’t kill the child. Mona Yvette Nelson, a maintenance worker for several area apartment complexes, was arrested and charged on Wednesday. Investigators believe she kidnapped, killed and burned the body of Jonathan Foster on Christmas Eve. Foster had been left alone at his mother’s apartment while she and her roommate worked that day. Latisha Lawson, 31, has been charged in the death of her son, Jezaih King. While attempting an exorcism, Lawson forced her two children to drink a mixture of oil and vinegar because she believed they were both demon possessed. Lawson told police she couldn’t take her son’s temper tantrums, and believed they were signs of possession. Lawson’s daughter, Kierra King, 10, vomited when given the mixture. Shock after (black) Charles Clements gets probation for fatally shooting neighbor over peeing dog A Chicago-area man who shot and killed a neighbor whose dog urinated on his lawn, was sentenced to just four years of probation on Wednesday, shocking the victim's family. Will County Judge Daniel Rozak rejected prison time for Charles Clements, 69, of University Park, noting the Marine vet had no prior criminal history. Clements faced up to 20 years behind bars after being convicted of the second-degree murder in May of Joshua Funches, 23. "This is certainly not justice," Gail Williams, the slain man's aunt, told the Chicago Tribune. Convicted black felon charged with beating elderly White woman Investigators say convicted felon Kevin Johnson beat 92-year old Eunice "Sunny" Lester in the face before taking off with her car. Lester was left in the driveway of her home in the rain. Johnson crashed her car about 4 miles away, and was arrested there. He now faces charges of car jacking, aggravated battery on a person over 65-year old, and grand theft auto. Sunny as she was nicknamed by friends for her bubbly personality is well known for her charity work and volunteer work in Gadsden Co. She was arriving home from visiting seniors when she was attacked. Lester was a WWII nurse. Her oldest son Dickson Lester says she is a strong Christian believer and would be asking her children to forgive the person who attacked her. Her children expect justice to be served. Her children ask that the community donate their time in volunteer work this week to honor her mother. Lester is in a coma at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital, surrounded by her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her children say she has people as far away at Costa Rica and Nigeria praying for her quick recovery. Johnson was released from prison in May.
