Roman Catholic Priest wanted in Calif. nabbed in Mexico - faces four counts child molestation involving two girls  A fugitive Sacramento priest, who fled the country 17 years ago after allegations he sexually abused two young girls, has been arrested in Mexico and may soon be extradited to the United States. Gerardo Beltran, 50, is charged with four counts of child molestation occurring between 1989 and 1991 and involving two victims. Beltran, who started serving in the diocese in 1982, disappeared in 1991 after Sacramento police began investigating allegations that he abused two former child parishioners. He was believed to have been serving openly as a priest in a remote village in his native Mexico. - (Newsroom) - (Norcal) |

Black charged with murder of White woman in cold case * Charges filed   Back in 1991 22-year-old Cindy Pavey was found beaten to death inside her Murphysboro home. Now more than a decade later, the man accused of the murder appears again in court. 37-year-old Quincy Hughes faces four counts of first degree murder. Thanks to advances in DNA technology, authorities were able to move forward with the case, arresting Hughes just last month. Former school sentry and church deacon sentenced up to 39 years in jail for buggering boys  Former Rochester school sentry and church deacon Andre T. Johnson was ordered to prison today for sexually assaulting six boys.
The State Supreme Court Justice sentenced Johnson, 34, to 29 2/3 to 39 years behind bars for sodomizing, sexually abusing and endangering the boys, who were 10 to 16.
Johnson went to trial in February on charges that he assaulted nine boys. A jury acquitted him of four misdemeanor counts of sexual abuse involving three boys but convicted him of 24 felony counts involving the other boys. - (Newsroom) |

Alleged nigger murderer of co-ed Eve Carson arrested and charged in other campus slaying  A suspect in the slaying of a popular University of North Carolina student was charged Thursday with the killing of a graduate student at Duke University. A warrant charges 17-year-old Lawrence Alvin Lovette Jr. with first-degree murder in the death of Abhijit Mahato. Mahato, 29, originally of Tatangar, India, was a doctoral student in computational mechanics. He was found shot to death inside his apartment a few blocks south of Duke's campus in January.  Lovette and Demario James Atwater, 21, were charged with first-degree murder in the death of Eve Carson. The 22-year-old was found last week lying on a street about a mile from the North Carolina campus in nearby Chapel Hill. Black L.I. Mom Pleads Not Guilty in Her Kids Deaths - A Long Island woman suspected of drowning her three children in a bathtub has made her first court appearance since the deaths last month, pleading not guilty to murder charges. Leatrice Brewer, 27, quietly uttered "not guilty" Thursday to a grand jury indictment charging her with three counts each of first- and second-degree murder. Brewer was arrested Feb. 24 after telling police she had drowned her children, all younger than 6, in their New Cassel apartment. After calling 911, Brewer jumped out her second-floor apartment window, injuring her back. - (Newsroom) |
Former Liberian President Top aide testifies Charles Taylor ordered soldiers to eat victims AMSTERDAM, Netherlands (AP) -- Grim tales of cannibalism highlighting the brutality of West Africa's civil wars emerged in testimony Thursday at the war crimes trial of former Liberian President Charles Taylor. Joseph "Zigzag" Marzah, who described himself as Taylor's chief of operations and head of the death squad before Taylor became president, said African peacekeepers and even United Nations personnel were killed and eaten on the battlefield by Taylor's militiamen. - (Newsroom) |
17-Year-Old Black Gave Young Children Gonorrhea A 17-year-old was arrested Monday by Dillon police after they say he gave two children, ages four and five, the sexually transmitted disease gonorrhea. Officers arrested 17-year-old Kayle Alford and charged him with criminal sexual conduct with minors younger than 11. Investigators say Alford is responsible for giving the young children the STD. - (Newsroom) |
Another Negro suspect in murder of White University Class President Coed Detectives are searching for a Negro photographed using the A.T.M. card of the University of North Carolina student body president who was found shot to death on a city street. The student, Eve Carson, 22, of Athens, Ga., was found Wednesday morning lying on a street about a mile from campus. She had been shot several times, including once in the right temple. Black Suspect Charged in Attempted Rape, Murder of White Auburn Student - Could Face Death Penalty  A 23-year-old man has been charged with capital murder in the death of an 18-year-old Auburn University student and could face the death penalty if convicted. The suspect, Courtney Lockhart, also faces charges of kidnapping, robbery and attempted rape, Auburn Assistant Police Chief Thomas Dawson said at a news conference. He affirmed that authorities have strong evidence to prove that Lockhart killed Lauren Burk, a freshman at Auburn University. - (Newsroom) - (Black-on-white) |
Tobyhanna Negro charged with killing, dismembering White woman  More than a month after a woman's dismembered body was found in garbage bags along Interstates 380 and 80, police charged a Tobyhanna man today with her homicide. Police arrested Charles Ray Hicks, 33, after allegedly finding disembodied hands in his apartment. Hicks, who has lived on the 100 block of Prospect Street in Coolbaugh Township since going to work for a contractor at the Tobyhanna Army Depot on Jan. 2, was charged with homicide, aggravated assault, tampering with evidence and abuse of corpse in the slaying of Deanna Null, 36. - (Newsroom) - (Black-on-white) |
Negro held over US family killings Tennessee police have charged a convicted killer with murdering four adults and two children, and wounding three children, at a Memphis house. Jessie L Dotson was arrested on Friday, five days after the dead and wounded victims were found in a house in the city's low-income Binghampton area. The three survivors, including a 10-month-old, were critically injured. Quinn claimed he was convicted because he was black and the victim was white Despite a vow at his sentencing in December, 2005, that his convictions for rape and kidnapping would be overturned, the appeal for Jeremy Quinn, Jr., was denied in a decision released yesterday by Ohio’s 6th District Court of Appeals. Quinn, 26, was sentenced to 70 years in prison after being found guilty by a Lucas County Common Pleas Court jury on six counts of rape and one count of kidnapping. He was convicted of the July 18, 2005, kidnapping of a 16-year-old girl from her Sylvania Township home and for raping her repeatedly in a secluded area. Judge James Jensen sentenced Quinn to the maximum amount of prison time. In a 26-page opinion, the appellate court upheld the conviction and the sentence. Prior to his sentencing, Quinn claimed he was convicted because he was black and the victim was white. - (Newsroom) - (Black-on-white) |
Black raped a Danforth Elementary School teacher and another woman  The jury found 24-year-old Joshua Blash guilty on one count of rape, two counts of aggravated sodomy, two counts of aggravated assault and one count of burglary. A judge sentenced him to three consecutive life sentences. The D.A.'s office says in 2001, Blash raped a Danforth Elementary School teacher, and sexually assaulted a woman in her East Macon home. Blash was in prison on other charges, but Macon Police were able to match his DNA with samples from the crime scene. - (Newsroom) |
