15-year-old Black Teen Charged In Deadly Attack On 82-year-old White Woman |
Black man stabbed White woman meals-on-wheels director to death Crime tape sealed off Lakeside Baptist Church in Rocky Mount after two Meals on Wheels workers were stabbed in an apparent robbery at the church earlier Thursday morning. Rocky Mount Meals on Wheels Director Debbie Kornegay and Assistant Director Eve Beasley were preparing meals and loading their vehicles shortly after 9 a.m. A man charged at them in the church kitchen and stabbed them multiple times, Rocky Mount Police Capt. Martin McCoy said. Investigators believe someone let the man inside the church. Police are looking for a black man with a medium complexion and medium-length mustache in his late 20s to early 30s, who they believe has tattoos on both forearms up to his elbows. He is 6 feet to 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighs about 200 pounds and was last seen wearing a short-sleeve, long white T-shirt, white T-shirt wrapped around his head and dark jeans. - (Newsroom) - (crime) - (Black-on-white) |
Police arrest 2 Negroes in connection with brutal rape Police have arrested two men in connection with a brutal rape where the victim was hit several times in the head with a two-by-four. Jequan Sloan, 27, was arrested this morning and charged with attemped murder, rape, sex offense, kidnapping and possession of a firearm by a felon. Officers also arrested a man they believe played an indirect role in the Wednesday morning sexual assault and beating. Kevin Martel Laney was charged with accessory to a felony after the fact and possession of a firearm by a felon in connection with the rape. Witnesses told the Observer they heard a woman screaming outside a vacant apartment just before 6 a.m. When they looked that way, they saw a man punch the woman in the face and knock her down. Black serial rape suspect arrested The suspect in a series of rapes and attempted rapes that occurred in the city’s Eastside was arrested police said. U.S. Marshals arrested Darnell Hagan, 25, at around 9:30 a.m. at his mother’s home. Hagan was transferred to the Paterson municipal lock-up, awaiting arraignment on sexual assault charges. Police said last month that Hagan’s DNA was discovered on one of the rape victims. Two woman and one teenage girl were raped, while two others, including a 12-year-old girl, escaped their attacker. - (Newsroom) |

Black Fla. man condemned in girl's gator death  Harrel Franklin Braddy sits in court in Miami in August. A judge sentenced him to death on Monday, nearly nine years after he left a 5-year-old girl to be eaten alive by alligators in the Everglades and tried to kill her mother. Braddy, 58, attacked Shandelle Maycock and daughter Quatisha after he was released early from prison for good behavior in another case. He was convicted in July of first-degree murder, attempted murder, kidnapping, attempted escape and other charges. She was alive when alligators bit her on the head and stomach, a medical examiner said.

Black nursing home employee gets 99 years for rape of geriatric and pediatric patients Jurors in Belton decided on a 99-year prison sentence Tuesday after finding Earnest Lee Glover, Jr., 46, of Temple guilty of two counts of aggravated sexual assault in attacks last year on residents of the Bell County Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Temple. Glover was arrested after a sexual assault was reported on Dec. 7, 2006 at the facility. The center provides care for both geriatric and pediatric patients. At the time of his arrest, he had worked at the center as a certified nurse’s assistant for about year, police said. - (Newsroom) - (crime) |
