Thai migrant suspect in kidnap-rape-murder of another little 10-year-old girl |
Black footballers charged with gang-rape of intoxicated 12-year-old White girl In May 2004, Chris Collins (Christopher Edward Collins, Jr) and another (black) man were arrested and charged with sexually assaulting an intoxicated 12-year-old girl at a hotel in Texarkana, Tex., during an after-prom party. Two other men were charged in December 2005. Collins pleaded not guilty in March, after being indicted by a grand jury in December 2004. The case has created controversy in Texarkana, a small city of 35,000 on the Arkansas border. Collins and the three other men are black and the girl is white; some black residents have questioned whether the case has racial overtones. Collins confessed to the police that he had sex with the girl. The girl said she did not consent. - (Newsroom) - (crime) - (Sports) - (Black-on-white) DNA collected from the victim’s body implicates all four of the men charged When questioned by investigators, Aaron Johnson, 27 at the time, and Charles Johnson, then 18, both denied having sex with the victim. They were arrested Dec. 1, 2005, after DNA testing performed by the DPS crime lab in Garland, Texas, allegedly showed they too had sex with the girl. Three days later, police arrested Collins' former Texas High teammate, Jabari Asim Jackson, then 18 years old. He told investigators that he had sex with the girl at the hotel but that he did not realize she was only 12. |
Alleged African Migrant Child Rapist Goes Free Because Court Can't Find Interpreter ROCKVILLE, Md. — Charges against a man accused of repeatedly raping and molesting a 7-year-old girl were dismissed last week because the court could not find an interpreter fluent in the suspect's native West African language. Mahamu Kanneh, a Liberian native who received asylum in this country and attended high school and community college here, according to The Washington Post, was denied a speedy trial after three years awaiting a court-appointed interpreter who could speak the tribal language of Vai. According to witnesses who originally reported the case to authorities, Kanneh allegedly repeatedly raped and sexually molested the girl, a relative. In a statement made by the girl to police, she said she had been told she'd be forced to stay in the apartment unless she had sex with Kanneh. - (Newsroom) - (Invasion!) |
Black Marine convicted of murdering Iraqi civilian gets away with murder CAMP PENDLETON, Calif. — A Marine who was convicted of kidnapping and conspiring to murder an Iraqi civilian will not serve prison time, a military jury decided Friday. Cpl. Trent Thomas was sentenced to a bad-conduct discharge and reduced pay. He could have received life in prison for his role in the April 2006 killing of the retired Iraqi policeman in the village of Hamdania. Thomas was among seven Marines and a Navy corpsman accused of taking 52-year-old Hashim Ibrahim Awad from his house to a nearby ditch and shooting him after they botched an attempt to capture a suspected insurgent. Thomas was the senior corporal in the squad. - (Newsroom) - (crime) Arab news: Iraq: Marines Can Get Away With Killing Civilians |

Why 12-year-old girl was sent to Thai migrant child-rape suspect Adhahn A Kansas woman said she let her daughter move to Pierce County with child-rape suspect Terapon Adhahn six years ago because she thought it was the best option for the then-rebellious 12-year-old girl. The girl and her family met Adhahn when he moved to Texas in 2001 after he was laid off from Boeing's plant in Auburn. Adhahn and the girl moved to Tacoma a short time later and lived at two different Spanaway addresses. According to charges filed earlier this week, Adhahn repeatedly raped the girl over the four years they lived together, at least once at gunpoint. - (Newsroom) - (crime) - (Invasion!)

Inmate freed by mistake, visits his victim Before re-arrest, he apologizes to man — who feared he might be killed HOUSTON - A prison inmate mistakenly released 36 years early was re-arrested after approaching his victim in a bar and apologizing for shooting him in the head. Willie Joe McAdams had been sentenced to 40 years in prison for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, but because of a clerical error, he was released in May after just four years. McAdams shot Cedric Thomas in a sports bar in March 2003, blinding him in one eye. Thomas was stunned when McAdams approached him in a bar during the July 4 weekend, shook Thomas' hand and apologized. - (Newsroom) - (crime) |
How secret camera in Catholic archbishop's 'love nest' silenced vocal Mugabe critic The pictures are as grainy and blurry as you might expect from a tiny camera hidden in the ceiling of what Zimbabwe's government press is calling "the archbishop's love nest". But there is little doubt that the man perched on the edge of the bed is Pius Ncube, Roman Catholic Archbishop of Bulawayo and furious opponent of Robert Mugabe. Behind the cleric, as he takes his shirt off, is a shape that a worker on Zimbabwe railways, Onesimus Sibanda, says is his wife, Rosemary, a secretary in the cathedral. The video, showing a full frontal shot of a naked man who appears to be the archbishop as he climbs on to a woman whose breasts are also visible, is the basis of a lawsuit against the archbishop that is ostensibly about Mr Sibanda's honour but which the government has seized on - and almost certainly engineered - to silence one of Mr Mugabe's most persistent and effective critics. - (Africa) |
