Ghana native UCSB soccer player, accused of rape, testify in court A sheriff's detective testified that after the Ghana native was charged with rape, a female student claimed one month before, Eric Frimpong had sexually assaulted her. He said she told him that Eric tackled her to the ground after the two had been running wind sprints on the beach. 44-year-old Negro charged in rape of teen A 44-year-old New Castle-area man surrendered to county police today on charges that he raped the 15-year-old daughter of an acquaintance over a period of several months. Robert L. Cheers was committed to Young Correctional Institution in lieu of $380,000 secured bail. Cheers was charged with 19 felony counts of first-degree rape. County police detectives began investigating the allegations earlier this month when they received information from the parent of the now 16-year-old victim. The parent reported that her daughter was reported raped by an acquaintance between mid-December and April. An investigation determined that the crimes occurred at Cheers’ home where the teenager would go each day after school until her mother finished work and picked her up. - (Newsroom) - (crime) |

Black convicted in burning deaths of White couple * Black guilty on all counts  ALBUQUERQUE (AP) - A Portales man has been convicted today on two counts of first-degree murder in the August 2005 deaths of an elderly Roosevelt County couple whose bodies were found in the trunk of their burned-out car.
The jury will reconvene June 21st to decide whether 43-year-old Stanley Bedford should be executed for the slayings of Odis and Doris Newman.
Bedford also was found guilty of 2 counts each of kidnapping and tampering with evidence and one count each of disposal of stolen property and aggravated burglary.
If the jury doesn't impose a death sentence, Bedford will serve 120 years in prison without the possibility of parole on those counts.

Drunk Negro Indicted for Death of White Female Police Officer * Negro arrested   A grand jury has indicted a man involved in an accident that claimed the life of a Beaumont police officer. Willie James McCray was indicted Thursday on intoxicated manslaughter charges. Police say McCray was intoxicated when he struck officer Lisa Beaulieu last month. Beaulieu was diverting traffic from another accident at the time of the incident. She was taken to an area hospital where she later died. UK: Illegal African migrant murdered White bobby  The man accused of murdering PC Jon Henry was remanded in custody yesterday.
Ikechukwu Tennyson Obih appeared in court charged with stabbing to death the 36-yearold father of one.
The Nigerian, who arrived in the UK in 2000 and was later granted indefinite leave to remain, was handcuffed to a prison guard and flanked by three policemen.
The 27-year-old was also charged with the attempted murders of window cleaners Steven Chamberlain and David Knight.
He faces a fourth charge - related to a separate incident on Monday - of armed burglary. Mr Chamberlain, 53, is still in hospital where he is being treated for knife wounds that include a punctured lung. Mr Knight received stitches for a wound to his arm. - (Newsroom) - (UK) - (Black-on-white) |

Police renew search for black for rape and murder of 14-year-old girl A cold case is heating up as investigators renew their search for a killer. Members of the Fulton County District Attorney's Cold Case Squad recruited volunteers to go door-to-door in East Point Saturday to help generate news leads in the 1995 murder of Nacole Smith. Smith was on her way to middle school when police said she was raped, then shot to death. She was 14-years-old at the time. The victim's mother, Acqunellia Smith, joined the volunteers during their search for leads Saturday. "There are no days that I don't cry and I don't think about her. I find myself keeping her close to me and to my heart," Smith said as she displayed a necklace with a gold heart locket containing Nacole's picture. According to police, DNA evidence proves the same man who killed Smith raped another 14-year-old girl in a wooded area in East Point nine years later in 2004. - (Newsroom) - (crime) |
| Moe Gibbs News - Gibbs' Attorney Asks to Have Restraints Removed - Morgenstern Memorial Under Construction   Moe Gibbs will stand trial for the death of Valley City State University student Mindy Morgenstern who was killed in September. Glen Dale Morgan, Junior, as Gibbs was known at the time, was reportedly sentenced to ten years for attempted murder in 1992, and spent time in federal prisons in Oklahoma, Missouri, and Phoenix, as well as in Kansas.
Police also say D-N-A evidence links Gibbs to a 2004 rape in Fargo. Gibbs' DNA matched DNA found under Morgenstern's fingernails. - (Newsroom) - (crime) |

Khemwatie Bedessie, 39, a Guyanese immigrant with a fifth-grade education, barely blinked as a jury forewoman pronounced her guilty of both rape and sexual abuse. Black guilty of homo rape and murder of girlfriend's 3-year-old baby boy  CINCINNATI -- A three-judge panel on Friday afternoon convicted Lamont Hunter of the rape and murder of 3-year-old Trustin Blue. A deputy coroner testified earlier in the morning that Trustin Blue’s injuries were not consistent with a fall down the stairs, which has been the claim by Hunter since the 3-year-old suffered fatal injuries Jan. 19, 2006. A hearing is scheduled for July 19 to determine whether Hunter will be sentenced to death or life in prison for his conviction on charges of aggravated murder, rape and child endangering. - (Newsroom) - (crime) |
Black SC sex offender charged with rape of 70-year-old woman in Alabama A sex offender from South Carolina has been charged with rape in Alabama. The Macon County Sheriff's Office says 39-year-old Arthur Witherspoon raped a 70-year-old woman in Shorter, which is 15 to 20 miles northeast of Montgomery. Investigators say Witherspoon severely beat the woman. As of Friday night, she's recovering in a hospital. Witherspoon - who is on South Carolina's Sex Offender list - moved to Macon County a few months ago. He's now in the Macon County Jail charged with rape. - (Newsroom) - (crime) |
Black accused of rape of 78-year-old woman - Trial Postponed  The trial of Antonio McAllister will continue for two more days, then come to a halt. Prosecutors asked for time to allow investigators to look deeper into the DNA evidence that's been presented so far. The trial will stop Thursday, then resume June 25. McAllister is accused of raping and beating a 78-year-old Pender County woman two years ago. Detective Scott Lawson testified Tuesday on his role in the investigation and the clues that possibly point to McAllister. The victim's doctor also testified on the extent of damage to the woman's left eye. Black Who Killed 6 Relatives Pleads Guilty LANCASTER, Pa. - A man who beat and stabbed six relatives to death and left their bloody bodies in the basement while he went on a shopping spree pleaded guilty to murder Friday and was sentenced to life in prison without parole. Jesse D. "Jay" Wise avoided the possibility of execution, prosecutors said, because surviving family members asked them not to seek it. Prosecutors said Wise, 22, killed his grandmother, two aunts, two cousins and an uncle over a four-day period in April 2006 and left their bodies in the basement while continuing to spend time in the home the family shared in Leola.
