British Woman Slain in Tokyo * Tokyo victim was stripped, beaten and strangled  TOKYO --The man wanted for killing a British woman in a Tokyo flat had charmed her by sketching her portrait, police in Japan have said. Lindsay Ann Hawker was beaten, stripped then strangled before being buried in a bathtub of sand, they added. It also emerged that chief suspect Tatsuya Ishihashi had been warned in the past over claims that he had stalked a young woman. (Black) Mayor Wharton's Son Charged With Statutory Rape A C Wharton III, the oldest son of Shelby County mayor A C Wharton, was arrested Tuesday in Knoxville. He was accused of raping a 13-year-old girl he met in a chat room on the Internet. Wharton III is being held on a $50,000 bond. Wharton is 34, but he was reported to have presented himself as a 20-year-old. The girl apparently told one of her girlfriends, who reported the matter to school authorities. Mayor Wharton issued a statement to the media: "I learned early this morning that my son, A C Wharton III, was arrested in Knoxville on charges of statutory rape. Police Search For Man Accused Of Arranging Rape Baltimore County Police have obtained an arrest warrant for 31-year-old Andre Earl Evans. He is wanted for arranging a robbery of a 50-year-old man, and rape of two women, one 46-year-old and the other a 44-year-old. Police say the crimes occurred on March 17, 2007 at 11:30 p.m. in the 11000 block of Bowerman Road, in the Essex area. Evans is described as a black male, 5’9” tall, 200 pounds, with black hair, and brown eyes. He may have a full beard and braided hair. Evans is considered armed and dangerous - (Newsroom) - (crime) |
Black Arrested In Connection With 2005 Sexual Assault Case Fla. -- A suspected serial rapist on the Treasure Coast is in custody after he spent nearly two years on the run, police said.According to police reports, Fort Pierce police arrested Robert Lee Kenon, Jr., 33, of Jensen Beach, in connection with a 2005 sexual battery case.Police said that back in Dec. 22, 2005, a suspect kidnapped a 29-year-old woman at gunpoint and sexually assaulted her inside his silver sedan. Rape suspect hospitalized; police search for wife Accused rapist Brian Smith, who threatened suicide from a Pennsylvania bridge for seven hours Wednesday, could stay hospitalized for days, police said. Meanwhile police and other law enforcement agencies continue to search for Smith's wife, Necole, who they say fled with the couple's 5-year-old son. UK: Murdered so he didn't tell * Murder-room man gets cleared of all charges  A MAN has been jailed for life after watching a "psychopathic and homophobic" attack on a father-of-three before strangling him, and hiding his body in a wardrobe, to stop him going to the police. Heavily-built Richard Truszczynski, 26, was jailed on Friday for the "utterly pointless" murder of Russell Aylett, 42, at the Rush Green Road YMCA last March. A MAN charged with brutally murdering a father of three has been found not guilty. Michael Cocks, 27, was alleged to have helped beat Russell Aylett, 43, to death at his temporary bed-sit at Romford YMCA, Rush Green Road, in March last year. The father-of-three's decomposing body was found stuffed in a wardrobe three days later, after staff investigated a smell. A post-mortem revealed he was alive when dumped in the wardrobe. Black arrested in robbery, rape of pregnant station clerk MASSILLON A 43-year-old man accused of robbing and raping a pregnant gas station clerk will be arraigned this morning in Municipal Court. Michael D. Jones faces felony counts of kidnapping, rape and robbery. Police arrested him at his house. Detective Sgt. Jim Mizeres said Jones came into the Speedway shortly after 1:30 a.m. Friday. Jones asked if the clerk, who is five months pregnant, if she was alone, Mizeres said. When she said she was, the robber demanded money and threatened to hurt her unless she went into the back room, disrobed and lay on the floor. She refused. The clerk gave Jones money from the store's cash register as well as $80 from her purse. Mizeres said Jones then forced the clerk out of the store toward her car. She broke free and ran back into the store briefly. Mizeres said Jones grabbed her again, dragged her back to her car and took her to railroad tracks where he raped her and then ran away. - (Newsroom) - (crime) |
2 blacks guilty of shooting African migrant woman's fetus   Jurors witnessed an emotional testimony as Hawa Berry talked about her traumatic train experience. She was eight-and-a-half months pregnant in 2003 when she was shot on board an MBTA train. Her unborn baby did not survive. Berry welled up with tears in front of a crowded courtroom as she described the horrifying experience four years ago when she was shot in a crowded subway train. "I just heard the shot… pop, pop," Berry described through a translator from her native west Africa. Berry showed the jury the wound left behind from the bullet that pierced her abdomen. "When I saw the floor and I see my blood… I feel the pain." Berry, who is now 34, was taking the Orange Line back to Lynn on February 5, 2003. When the train was about to pull into the Mass. Ave. station, someone fired a gun into the crowd. One bullet hit a guitar case, the other hit Berry in the stomach. Her baby, delivered by a c-section, did not survive.
