Black employee gunned down white manager - execution style  Police have arrested a former employee and were searching Saturday for several other suspects in connection with the execution-style slaying earlier this week of a Hurst miniature golf course manager. David Storey, 22, has been charged with capital murder in the killing of Jonas Cherry, the assistant manager who police said was gunned down execution style Monday at the Putt-Putt Golf & Games Center. Police said Storey was driving the 2002 Ford Explorer that was captured on surveillance video leaving the center around the time of the killing. It is the largest hunt for a serial rapist that Scotland Yard has ever mounted and began in 1998 following the forensic link of two rapes. Broward black charged in alleged abduction-rape  A Broward County man is in police custody this morning after allegedly forcing a young woman into his car at gunpoint and raping her. Police believe the man, Anthony Wise, 53, approached the 24-year-old woman as she exited a store. He then pulled out a gun and forced her into his car, police said. The alleged rape took place more than 10 miles away in North Lauderdale. After the 1 a.m. attack Wise dropped the victim off in a remote area. She called Fort Lauderdale police. Detectives arrived and drove the victim around the area in hope of finding a crime scene. Police said the efforts paid off. Wise was spotted driving through the neighborhood about 6 a.m. When Wise got out of the car, a police officer approached him. Police said Wise resisted violently but was later arrested. Sports: Diverse UAlbany footballer gang rape suspects in court  One UAlbany football player is out on bail and another is scheduled to be in court Friday morning after they, along with another member of the team, were accused of raping a female student early Sunday morning. Lorenzo Ashbourne (left), 18, posted bail and was released from Albany County Correctional Facility Thursday morning. Charles Guadagno (right) is scheduled to appear in Guilderland Town Court Friday at 8:30 a.m. Julius Harris (center) , shackled and in an orange jumpsuit, went before a Guilderland Town Court Judge Thursday. Man Accused Of Pimping 2 Runaways Phoenix police announced the arrest of an alleged pimp who took money from a child prostitute. Mitchell Coleman, 26, has been booked into Jail on six counts of child prostitution and six counts of receiving the earnings of a prostitute. Phoenix police said the victims are two 14-year-old runaways, one from Gilbert and one from Tempe. Around 3 a.m., patrol officers stopped a 14-year-old girl. Police said she originally lied about her age, but then admitted she was only 14. Officers said she directed them to a hotel where they found Coleman and another 14-year-old girl in his room. Police said they believe Coleman had recruited the young runaways to prostitute for him. They reportedly had been working the streets for the past three days. The girls will not face prostitution charges, according to officers. One was returned to her family, while the other had a warrant for her arrest and was sent to juvenile detention. - (Newsroom) - (crime) |
| Migrant Njock Eyong from Cameroon in Africa Charged in Visa Scheme ST. PAUL, Minn. -- A standout law school student has been charged with using a congressman's signature machine and official stationery to try to obtain visas for relatives and others in his native Cameroon. Njock Eyong, the 26-year-old president of the Student Bar Association at Minnesota's William Mitchell College of Law, was indicted last week in Washington on charges that included fraud and impersonation of a federal official. Eyong formerly worked in Washington as an intern for Rep. Donald M. Payne, D-N.J. During the summer of 2003, Eyong used the office to demand that visas be issued, federal prosecutors said. |

Deputies arrested a 63-year-old man Wednesday accused of raping a 
A 63-year-old man was indicted on 158 charges on Friday, including more than 100 counts of rape. According to the Fayette County sheriff, Joseph Palmer was arrested on 108 counts of rape, 24 counts of corruption of a minor and 26 counts of gross sexual imposition over an 18-year period. Palmer, of Washington Court House, is being held in the Fayette County Jail on a $1 million bond. The sheriff said Palmer is accused of sexually assaulting three minors when the victims were as 
Police said three men targeted two teenagers in Statesville. Now two of them are behind bars. The victims were kidnapped at gunpoint. Forced to take off their clothes, empty their bank accounts and that's just the beginning. Police have made two arrests in the case. Until Tuesday, the names of the other two suspects were unknown. But thanks to several tipsters, police were able to identify one of the two men who were still at large. Police said Teonte Heller, 18, was recognized by several people after his picture was shown on the news Monday night. The pictures were taken by ATM cameras, which the suspects made their teenage victims use. The suspects then went to one victim's home and robbed her parents before stuffing the teenager in the trunk of her own car and leading police on a chase. Thankfully the victim was rescued safely and police arrested one suspect at the scene. Heller escaped, but was arrested Tuesday night.
