  Mexico — For two decades, dozens of children have accused the Rev. Nicolás Aguilar of molesting or brutally raping them. He faces an indictment charging sexual abuse in Los Angeles and at least five formal complaints in Mexico. Yet at 65 he remains at large, still working as a priest in villages here. Father Aguilar’s long flight from the law, critics say, reflects the ease with which priests can avoid prosecution in the United States by hiding in Mexico, where judges and prosecutors are reluctant to challenge the enduring political strength of the Roman Catholic Church.

Man, 63, arrested in rape of girl, 15 months
Deputies arrested a 63-year-old man Wednesday accused of raping a 15-month-old girl about 10 months ago, the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office said. Ernest L. Hodge of Denham Springs was booked on counts of aggravated rape and video voyeurism. Hodge also goes by the first name “Roy.” Investigators learned about the alleged rape while questioning a woman about separate allegations. Investigators reported the woman told them Hodge had videotaped her sleeping naked and taken other sexual video footage of her without her knowledge, the Sheriff’s Office said. During questioning, the woman also told deputies that she walked in on Hodge having sex with the girl in December.

Palmer is accused of sexually assaulting three minors when the victims were as young as 4 years old
A 63-year-old man was indicted on 158 charges on Friday, including more than 100 counts of rape. According to the Fayette County sheriff, Joseph Palmer was arrested on 108 counts of rape, 24 counts of corruption of a minor and 26 counts of gross sexual imposition over an 18-year period. Palmer, of Washington Court House, is being held in the Fayette County Jail on a $1 million bond. The sheriff said Palmer is accused of sexually assaulting three minors when the victims were as young as 4 years old.

Police said three men targeted two teenagers in Statesville. Now two of them are behind bars. The victims were kidnapped at gunpoint. Forced to take off their clothes, empty their bank accounts and that's just the beginning. Police have made two arrests in the case. Until Tuesday, the names of the other two suspects were unknown. But thanks to several tipsters, police were able to identify one of the two men who were still at large. Police said Teonte Heller, 18, was recognized by several people after his picture was shown on the news Monday night. The pictures were taken by ATM cameras, which the suspects made their teenage victims use. The suspects then went to one victim's home and robbed her parents before stuffing the teenager in the trunk of her own car and leading police on a chase. Thankfully the victim was rescued safely and police arrested one suspect at the scene. Heller escaped, but was arrested Tuesday night.

It was a terrifying night of crime for two Iredell County teens. It started late Saturday night in downtown Statesville. As two teens sat in their car talking in a well lit parking lot, just off 211 West Trade Street, three suspects approached the car, police said. Two of the suspects were armed. The car belonged to Tabitha Champ, 19. The men struck her in the head with the back of their gun and forced her into the back seat at gunpoint, police said. The men jumped into the car and told Tabitha’s friend to drive. Their first stop on what would be a long a terrifying night, was Bristol Road Recreation Center. Held at gunpoint, the police report outlines what happens next. The suspects forced the victims to start removing their clothes.
