Hotel Clerk Charged With Attempted Rape of 16-year-old girl  WOODBRIDGE, Va. -- Michael Raynard Lewis, aA night desk clerk at the Courtyard Marriott hotel in Woodbridge, Va., has been arrested for allegedly attacking a teenager. Police said the victim, a 16-year-old girl, was babysitting in one of the rooms
while her parents attended a hotel function. "She was in the room on the bed with a baby and she heard the door knob to the hotel room rattle and then all of a sudden the guy was in the room and on top of her," Chinn said. Black Racist Gunman Possibly on Loose in Va.  RICHMOND, Va. — Three people were shot and killed, including two shopkeepers who were gunned down in front of horrified customers by a man who yelled racist comments. The suspect was identified as Daniel Andrew Bowler from surveillance photographs. About 6:50 p.m, police said, they received a call that a gunman had shot someone at the public housing complex. Authorities found Derrick Conner, 29, a black man, lying dead on the street.
Ten minutes later, the gunman entered the James Food Store, a convenience store about three miles from the housing complex. After shouting racist comments at employee Abdulrahman Aldhabhani, 43, the man shot and killed him in front of customers, police said. Police said the gunman took cash and other items before walking next door to Poly Cleaners, where he yelled racist comments at the owner, Jong Doh, 39, before shooting him in front of witnesses. - (Crusader) - (crime) - (hatecrimes) |
7-year-old boy sexually assaulted at Coral Springs gym CORAL SPRINGS -- A 7-year-old boy was homosexually assaulted by a 23-year-old man in the Coral Springs Gymnasium, 2501 Coral Springs Drive, Wednesday afternoon, police said a day later Kingsley Beauchamp was arrested on one count of sexual battery on a victim under the age of 12. The police department is asking the public's assistance in locating any other victims. If anyone has information they should call Detective Ken Clark at 954-346-1300. - (crime) |
Man Charged With Raping 12-Year-Old Girl A Kansas City man has been arrested and charged with raping a 12-year-old girl, police said Wednesday. George C. Jones, 38, is charged with forcible rape and five other felony counts. According to court documents, the girl, who is a relative of Jones, went with him to his apartment at 3409 Indiana Ave. Monday night after attending a barbecue. The girl told police she fell asleep on Jones' bed while watching television. She said she woke up when Jones started touching her inappropriately. Jury Reaches Verdict In Officer's Sex Assault Trial - Officer Convicted On 'Perverted Practice' Charges For Oral Sex A Baltimore City jury deliberating a police officer's sexual assault trial found Officer Keith Jennings not guilty Thursday on all but one charge, a minor sex charge. The jury convicted Jennings on one
count of perverted practice, a misdemeanor citing Jennings of participating in
oral sex. The jury acquitted Jennings of first-degree sex offense, kidnapping, false
imprisonment and misconduct in office.
Attorneys delivered closing arguments Thursday morning in the trial where a
19-year-old woman accused Jennings of forcing her to perform a sex act on him
inside an abandoned house while he was on duty in January 2004. - (forum)

Man Gets 6 Years In Prison For Soliciting Sex Via Internet An Overland Park, Kan., man who believed he was going to have sex with a 14-year-old girl he met on the Internet was sentenced to six years in prison Thursday. Dennis S. Buchanan, 22, was sentenced for child enticement and furnishing
pornographic material to a minor.
Investigators said Buchanan thought he had chatted online with a young girl, but instead it was a detective with Platte County's Cyber Crime Unit.
Buchanan sent livestreaming video of himself performing a pornographic sexual

Arrest made in 2003 rape case A man who police said was involved in a 2003 attack on a Troy resident is behind bars.
Police said Anthony Robertson, 23, of Troy was arrested Tuesday and charged with first-degree rape and first-degree assault. According to investigators, he is connected to an attack on a woman back in March 2003. "There was serious physical injury and sexual assault incurred by a female victim back in March of 2003. And through the collection of evidence in the SANE nursing collection protocol at Samaritan Hospital, we were able to obtain DNA which eventually led us to Mr. Robertson." |

Police ask for help in catching a suspected serial black rapist who murdered a homeless woman St. Petersburg, Florida - Police officers are handing out flyers in parks and shelters downtown. They're looking for people who might have seen a homeless woman, 49-year-old Sara Lynn Wineski, in the days before she was murdered. Appeals Court Rejects Fla. Widow Gun Claim - "Guns don't kill people..."   WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. -- An appeals court on Wednesday rejected a lawsuit that the widow of a teacher gunned down by a 13-year-old student had filed against a gun distributor.
Pam Grunow's lawsuit argued that Valor Corp. was negligent in selling the cheap handgun used in the shooting and should be held liable for the May 2000 death of her husband, Barry Grunow. He was shot in the doorway of his middle school classroom by Nathaniel Brazill, who stole the gun from the man he considered to be a grandfather. - (Black on White) |
What to do with 7-year-old accused of killing baby sister?  In the wake of the most heinous crime by a child that some investigators have ever seen, prosecutors are perplexed over what should happen to a 7-year-old boy accused of beating his baby sister to death. According to police, the boy threw his half-sister down the stairs when she would not stop crying. But when 7-month-old Jayza Simms continued to cry, he punched and kicked her and then finally hit her by a two-by-four. The family's Lowry Court apartment is now empty. Corn-rowed Teen Stabbing Suspect Keyona Ordered To Remain Behind Bars A 14-year-old girl accused of stabbing another girl in the heart remains incarcerated on $500,000 bail. A judge ordered the suspect, Keyona Dillon, 14, to have no contact with the
victim, Shatina Quinn, 15.
Dillon faces adult charges of attempted second-degree murder, first-degree assault with a deadly weapon with intent to injure, and second-degree assault. Quinn remains in critical but stable condition with 2-inch stab wounds to the heart.

Woman on psychiatric medication and marijuana charged In death of 5-year-old girl  A 39-year-old woman was charged Wednesday with homicide in the death of a 5-year-old Milwaukee girl. Jacqueline Holmes was also charged with possession of marijuana. Holmes failed a sobriety test moments after hitting Ameria Sandidge with her car.The girl was waiting with her aunt for a county bus near 41st Street and North Avenue on Sunday afternoon when Holmes' car jumped the sidewalk and struck the girl. Ameria died at the scene. Holmes told police she had taken more than her usual amount of psychiatric medication. - (forum) |

16-year-old girl gang-raped inside classroom by Yanez twins and two others   Four male teenagers -- including twins -- are under arrest on charges of sexually assaulting a 16-year-old girl inside a Wheaton High School classroom. Police arrested two 17-year-old students and they were released to their parents. Richard Yanez,
18, and his fraternal twin brother, Edgar Yanez, both of Rockville, were
arrested and are being held on bond.

Another pair of Hispanic twins on trial for rape of 9-year-old girl   HOUSTON -- A rape trial pitted twin brothers against each other in a Houston courtroom. Prosecutors said DNA evidence from the sexual assault and abduction of a
9-year-old girl points equally to two men -- Aldo Rene Penaflor and Hugo Adrian
Penaflor, 22-year-old identical twins who share the same DNA. Both men are charged with aggravated sexual assault and aggravated kidnapping in
the attack in Houston on Oct. 13, 2001. Investigators said both were involved in
