Black Lakewood man gets eight-year jail term for attacking rabbi with bat A judge sentenced a 39-year-old Lakewood man to eight years in prison for a senseless, unprovoked baseball-bat attack on a rabbi, despite pleas from the defendant's attorney that his client needs psychiatric help instead of prison. The judge ordered that Lee Tucker serve 85 percent of the prison term, or 6 years, nine months and 22 days, before he can be considered for release on parole and make $9,500 in restitution to the victim, Rabbi Mordechai Moskowitz of Lakewood. - (Newsroom) |
DNA evidence helps convict black of rape in 1999 attack on 81-year-old woman The case against whoever raped 81-year-old Carol Cooper in 1999 originally was filed against an anonymous “John Doe,” identifiable only by his DNA profile. But on Thursday a Jackson County jury decided that Terry U. Birmingham was responsible. Jurors convicted Birmingham, 43, of forcible rape, assault and burglary in the Christmas Eve attack. They acquitted him of robbery and an additional rape charge. Cooper told police that a stranger followed her into her Kansas City home after she took Christmas cookies to a neighbor. Harrisburg police search for black in connection with rape at homeless camp A 48-year-old homeless man is wanted by Harrisburg Police in connection with an alleged rape that occurred at a makeshift camp along Paxton Street Jan. 19. Robert Diggs was charged Jan. 27 with rape and related charges after police said he lured a homeless woman to his camp under the guise of friendship at about 6 a.m. and then attacked her. The woman, who police said was also beaten, was able to escape and get to the police bureau lobby to make a report. - (Newsroom) |
Black SMU football player accused of rape released on bail A former Southern Methodist University football player held on charges of raping a woman in Huntsville was released from jail Wednesday after posting $50,000 bail. Torlan Pittman, 20, was arrested and charged with aggravated sexual assault after a woman said she was raped by him and Sean Curtis Weatherford in September. East Orange carjacking, brutal rape leads to life sentence for Newark negro Calling the crime “bone chilling,” a federal judge in Newark sentenced a man to life in prison today for an East Orange carjacking in which he raped a 22-year-old woman, then shot her in the head and methodically wiped away the blood. Noah Cuebas, 26, of Newark, was convicted in October for 2006 attack that left his victim temporarily brain-dead and permanently wheelchair-bound.
“They are among the most depraved acts I have seen outside of fiction reading and the cinema,” Federal District Judge Joseph A. Greenaway said. “Mr. Cuebas has forfeited his right to be among the people of New Jersey … He is a miscreant. He cannot be among us.” Authorities say the carjacking was part of a broader string of crimes, including rape, kidnapping, robbery and two murders. Cuebas will stand trial for most of those crimes in state Superior Court in Essex County. Today’s sentencing ends a protracted and tumultuous series of federal proceedings for Cuebas. He was often defiant in the courtroom, refusing to stand when the judge entered and, at one point, belching. Cuebas refused to attend today’s hearing. - (Newsroom) |

Naked Texas Black Charged in Deaths of 5 Family Members - decapitation  A southeast Texas man was charged Wednesday in the weekend shooting deaths of five family members, including his 2-year-old niece, who also was decapitated.
Maron Thomas, 20, remains jailed on a $1 million bond, accused in the deaths of his mother, stepfather, sister, brother and niece. Police said Thomas was naked when he was caught trying to break into a neighbor's home after the shootings. "This is one of the most horrific crimes we've had," Austin County District Attorney Travis Koehn said.

"Liar, liar" - Judge orders ex-Detroit mayor Kwame Kilpatrick to pay $319,000  DETROIT — A judge branded former Detroit mayor Kwame Kilpatrick as a liar Wednesday, ordering him to cough up $319,000 within three months toward the $1 million in restitution Kilpatrick owes the city from his 2008 perjury conviction, or face further punishment. Wayne County Circuit Judge David Groner ripped Kilpatrick at the court hearing over what the judge characterized as an intentional effort to hide hundreds of thousands of dollars from the court's scrutiny since Kilpatrick, 39, was placed on probation following his release from jail in February. - (Newsroom) |

Dreadlocked black charged with robbing women at church A Statesville man has been charged with armed robbery and kidnapping after police there say he took two women from a church and drove them to ATMs to retrieve money on New Year's Eve. Adam Joe Louis Jordan III was charged Friday with four counts of armed robbery, two counts of first-degree kidnapping, two counts of second-degree kidnapping and one count of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. - (Newsroom) |
Released black rape suspect surrenders Dorchester County Sheriff's deputies say a rape suspect who had been released from custody last fall after paperwork went unfiled, turned himself in early Saturday morning. He's charged with a series of kidnappings and sexual assaults dating back to 1987. The suspect, 52-year-old Herman Rigby Jr., was released from prison last October after serving time for armed robbery. Corrections Department officials said Rigby wasn't transferred to Dorchester County because Dorchester's court office didn't file the proper paperwork to hold him. - (Newsroom) |

Black Sentenced in Brutal 1996 Rape; Trial for 1999 Murder of White Co-ed to Follow  A man who was found guilty in the brutal rape of a University of Utah student in 1996 was sentenced Friday. Donald Eugene Younge, 43, was sentenced to two terms of 15 years to life which will run consecutively. The victim has attacked in a dark alley in November of that year. She never got a good look at Younge's face, but there was DNA evidence. Christine Ortega, a Special Victims Unit Prosecutor, said the rape was the most brutal one she had ever seen in her career. "The community has this vision of what a rape is. This is exactly what it was. It was a stranger in a dark alley, but it became so much more violent," Ortega said. The DNA evidence collected in 1996 has also been connected to the 1999 murder of Amy Quinton, another University of Utah co-ed. New Black Suspect Sought in Richmond Gang Rape Police are now seeking a seventh suspect in connection with the gang rape of a 16-year-old girl outside Richmond High School's homecoming dance. Richmond police Lieutenant Mark Gagan said a $100,000 arrest warrant has been issued for 43 year old John Crane Jr., on allegations of felony sexual assault. Crane has a prior criminal record and is considered armed and dangerous. Anyone who sees Crane should not approach him. They should call 911. Six men, ranging in age from 15 to 21, are currently charged in connection with the October 24, 2009 gang rape. They have all pleaded not guilty. Police say as many as 10 people may have participated in the attack on the girl. She was found naked and semiconscious after the nearly two-hour assault. - (Newsroom) - (Newsroom) |

Black charged with rape, murder of White woman, 84  A Los Angeles man could face the death penalty if convicted of raping and murdering an 84-year-old Anaheim woman Sunday, prosecutors said today. Anthony Darnell Wade, 25, is charged with one felony count of special circumstances murder and one felony count of elder abuse. The special circumstances alleged, which include murder during the commission of rape, torture, robbery and burglary, make Wade eligible for the death penalty if convicted. Wade is accused of raping Bessie Mae Whiman, (aka Betsy Whiman) tying her up by her hands and feet, and punching and kicking her. Black Accused of Raping 8-Year-Old Girl - A black Kansas City teenager is accused of raping an 8-year-old girl in an apartment. Prosecutors charged Christopher J. Thomas Jr.with statutory rape. The victim and her brother got into an argument and Thomas took the girl to a back bedroom and forced the girl onto a mattress and raped her. The girl's brother came into the bedroom and told Thomas to stop. Thomas allegedly used a Taser on the boy's right arm. A second attack later that night and once again the girl's brother tried to stop Thomas and Thomas again shot the boy with a Taser. Negro charged in hit-and-run death of 82-year-old woman A 49-year-old black man has been charged in a fatal hit-and run. Darryl McGhee, 49, faces charges of failure to report a deadly accident, leaving the scene of a deadly accident, driving without insurance and not yielding to a pedestrian. Police say McGhee drove a 2008 Suzuki Hatchback Friday in the 400-block of North Cicero Avenue that struck and killed an elderly woman in a crosswalk around 6 p.m. Vivian Parker, 82, was pronounced dead Friday at 6:48 p.m. at Stroger Hospital. - (Newsroom) |
Heartless black steals memorial service money from 88-year-old man   Police said they are closing in on a bank robber who stole $300 from a man withdrawing money for a memorial service for his wife. The wife of the man who was robbed died on Christmas Day. The victim had withdrawn $500 to pay for the memorial service around 9:45 a.m. Wednesday at the U.S. Bank located at 1959 Burns Ave. Police said the man took five $100 bills to a table in the bank and was putting them into envelopes when the robber reached over and grabbed three of the $100 bills. - (Newsroom) |

Black who murdered White security guard at Las Vegas courthouse had lengthy criminal history  Johnny Lee Wicks, who killed Stanley Cooper, 72, a court security officer and wounded another at a federal courthouse, was convicted of his brother's murder in the 1970s. Wicks had an extensive criminal history, including a conviction for the murder of his brother in the 1970s, authorities said Tuesday.
These and other details emerging about the life of the gunman, Johnny L. Wicks, paint a portrait of an angry, often violent man who more than once claimed that he had been persecuted because of his race. In 1976, he was sentenced to 12 to 15 years in prison after being convicted of second-degree murder in his brother's slaying in Memphis. Wicks was paroled in 1981.
In 1995 he pleaded no contest and served jail time for spousal abuse in Sacramento. A year later, he faced robbery charges, which were later dismissed.

Paul Churchill, 41, admitted to the first-degree rape of a seven-year-old child that he is related to. Black renter viciously assaulted 86-year-old White grandmother  The Salt Lake County Sheriff's office hopes the public can help track down a man who is suspected of assaulting his 86-year-old landlady in her Brickyard area home early Friday morning. Ann Smart-Pearce was in surgery Friday afternoon at St. Mark's Hospital in "extremely critical condition," said Sheriff's Office Lt. Don Hutson. Two other tenants were checking out a scuffle in the home just before 6 a.m., said Hutson, when they allegedly saw Arthel Martin assaulting the victim. They said they tried to prevent him from leaving the house, but Martin, 45, got into his dark green Hyundai Sonata with license plate Z216MN and fled from the home. He is 6 feet tall, 200 pounds and has an athletic build. "He is not a person of interest," Hutson said. "He is a suspect." Tampa police arrest black they say attacked woman Tampa police have arrested a registered sex offender who allegedly attacked a woman he met at a nightclub Friday morning. Tommy Lee Sailor, 37, was arrested. The victim told police she met Sailor early on New Year's Day, and around 4:15 a.m., they returned to his home where he lives with an uncle. At the home, the victim said, Sailor became violent when his sexual advances were rebuffed, police said, at one point holding a screwdriver to the victim's throat while assaulting her, police said. - (Newsroom) |
Rap producer Shawty Redd charged with murder Music producer Demetrius Lee Stewart, known as Shawty Redd, is being held in a suburban Atlanta jail on a murder charge. Henry County Police Capt. Jason Bolton says Stewart was arrested Friday morning. Stewart is accused of shooting 35-year-old Damon A.
