Black Teen sentenced to 55 years in prison for murder of White family man   Indianapolis - A 15-year-old boy has been sentenced to 55 years in prison for fatally shooting a man outside his Indianapolis apartment. Prosecutors say Nevin Brooks was 14 when he killed 27-year-old David Hardwick in March 2008. Brooks wasn't arrested in the case until January, after a juvenile court judge had sent him to a rehabilitation program at Boys Town in Omaha, Neb., for his involvement in armed robberies. A Marion County judge said Thursday that Brooks' age weighed heavily in the sentencing decision, but that society must be protected from his violent behavior. The teen's father is in prison for a 2001 murder conviction, but Hardwick's widow says being failed by his family didn't excuse the shooting. Hardwick was a jewelry store manager with three children and two stepchildren. "I'm happy with the sentence," said Danielle Hardwick, the wife of murder victim David Hardwick. Killer Nigerian migrant rapist loses sentence bid   A man who raped and murdered a White Belfast mother-of-one has lost an appeal against his minimum 22-year sentence. Nigerian national Kristoff Emmanuel Alauya, 24, was jailed in January for the murder of Grace Moore. The 38-year-old's body was discovered by her teenage daughter at their home in Suffolk estate in November 2006. On Friday, Appeal Court judges ruled the sentence for the "truly heinous" killing was neither wrong in principle, nor manifestly excessive. Alauya, who lived in County Carlow in the Irish Republic, stabbed, strangled and raped Ms Moore after meeting her in a city centre nightclub. He then ransacked her home, stealing electrical items and cheque books. Afterwards, he flagged down a taxi and went to a garage to buy food. Black foreign student from Belize slit throat of UCLA co-ed in class A negro UCLA student allegedly stabbed a classmate five times and slashed her throat in a crime that prosecutors said Tuesday was premeditated and unprovoked. Damon Thompson, 20, was charged with one count of attempted murder in Thursday's attack in a chemistry lab. The victim, identified in court as Katherine Rosen, 20, suffered five stab wounds and a slashed throat. If convicted, he could face life in state prison with the possibility of parole. Investigators said the shooting happened at the European Autocare Center on La Vista Road Monday afternoon. Preliminary reports said Johnson was upset over a car repair bill and then shot and killed Tyrones. Johnson's co-defendant, Abel Johnson (no direct relation), waived his first appearance hearing Wednesday. Both will appear again in court Nov. 3. Retired White British nurse, 93, brutally raped and murdered in Florida home by black 'odd job' man  A 93-year-old retired British nurse had her throat slashed in a brutal murder at her Florida home. Wheelchair-bound Evelyn Norell may also have been sexually assaulted during the murder, allegedly committed by an odd job man. Police say the elderly victim was discovered naked from the waist down and lying in a pool of blood, by her granddaughter yesterday.
Maintenance man Elton Walters, 62, has been charged with first-degree murder. Walters, of Miami, works at the Images Condos complex, in Pembroke Pines, South Florida, where Norell had reportedly lived alone for more than 10 years. Detectives are now piecing together the motive behind the shocking killing, which has left the quiet community reeling. Black bogus pastor found in back seat with partially-clothed 13-year-old girl SHREVEPORT, LA - A Caddo Parish jury took just 30 minutes to find a man posing as a pastor guilty of molesting a teenager. 52-year-old Bruce Lee Goss was arrested in December of 2007 when Shreveport Police went to investigate a vehicle backed into the driveway of an abandoned home in the 2600 block of Waggoner. Black accused of beating his 5-year-old nephew to death WACO - Christopher Mack is charged with capital murder. He is accused of beating his 5-year-old nephew, Sincear Kirvin, to death. Mack's girlfriend, 24-year-old Andrea Thomas, was indicted on three counts of injury to a child for her alleged involvement. Back in June, Mack and Thomas were babysitting Sincear and his three siblings in an apartment they were sharing. During that time, police say three of the children were beaten with a belt. Sincear suffered extensive visible injuries and was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead. Police: African Migrant Male Nurse Wanted Elderly Patient 'To Suffer A licensed practical nurse in Montgomery County, who is trusted to care for the elderly, has been arrested after being accused of causing harm to one of his patients. Abiodun Oke worked at the Arista Care at Meadow Springs in Plymouth Meeting. According to court documents, Oke was taking care of an 81-year-old female patient at the facility who suffered from dementia, pneumonia and who has a tracheotomy. The facility has a visual and audible alarm that goes off when a patient's ventilator becomes detached. Elkhart black arrested for attempted rape ELKHART ― Police say a man forced his way into a woman's Elkhart apartment and tried to rape her. Carl Coleman, 38, was arrested for burglary, attempted rape and criminal confinement The victim claims that on September 14 Carlson broke into her apartment and took her phone away when someone tried to call her. Seven family members, three of them children, were killed in their home at 560 North Hamilton Avenue on June 1st, 2006. Two years later, the house was gutted by fire. That case is still an unsolved arson. Prosecutor Carl Brizzi wanted the death penalty for accused triggerman Desmond Turner. But he dropped that quest--bringing objections from victims' survivors--in a deal that included Turner waiving his right to a jury trial. 
HAMMOND, LA (WAFB) - A Tangipahoa Parish justice of the peace is taking a lot of heat, after refusing to marry an interracial couple.
Keith Bardwell, of the parish's eighth ward says he believes interracial marriages are morally wrong, and says it is his right not to marry the couple.
Beth Humphrey and Terence McKay say they have been looking forward to their wedding for a long time. McKay says he's still in shock that his dream wedding turned into a racial nightmare."I stand by my decision, and it is my right not to marry an interracial couple. It's wrong," Bardwell says. .
