Black NOPD officer made women undress in their homes NEW ORLEANS -- The man who investigators said was impersonating a police officer, entering homes and demanding drugs and cash, is in fact an officer with the New Orleans Police Departmen. Police have arrested Darrius Clipps, a one-year veteran of the force, in connection with three assaults in the Mid-City area. He has been charged with two counts of aggravated battery, two counts of aggravated burglary and one count of sexual battery, Police Superintendent Warren Riley said."The community should be alarmed by this, and highly disappointed, just like we are," Riley said. "We want to assure the public that this is a highly unusual circumstance."Detectives have said a man dressed in a dark blue uniform-like shirt was knocking on doors and entering homes. In at least two of the cases, he asked victims -- men and women -- to take off their clothes. He also demanded drugs and money. Riley said in one case, Clipps fondled one of the women who disrobed. - (Newsroom) |

Police: Black Man Raped 14-Year-Old Ocala Girl Police in Ocala searched for a man Friday night who they said raped a local teenager right outside a home. The 14-year-old described her attacker and helped police come up with a computer generated sketch. Police said the man is between the ages of 17 and 24, about 5 feet 7 inches tall and has a diamond stud in his right ear and has a a dark complexion. - (Newsroom) |
Blind black worker at state rehab center charged in patient's sex assault  Officials at a state-run residential facility for the severely disabled said they never contacted police to report two alleged rapes in 2006 because one victim initially failed to tell them about the assault and the other refused to press charges. Detectives only learned about the alleged rape against an Illinois Center for Rehabilitation and Education resident this week when a former student told them a man subcontracted by the center for vocational training raped her, but the statute of limitations for that sexual assault, which occurred in either January or February of 2006, had run out. Isaac King, 31, however, was charged with two counts of aggravated criminal sexual assault for the Sept. 7, 2006, incident at the center involving the current female student, who suffers from cerebral palsy and has the mental capacity of the 6-year-old. - (Newsroom) |
Black NFL Player Detained In Pedestrian's Death Cleveland Browns wide receiver Donte Stallworth hit and killed a pedestrian with his Bentley Saturday morning on a busy causeway linking Miami and Miami Beach, police said. Stallworth was headed toward the beach when he hit a 49-year-old man around 7 a.m., said Miami Beach police spokesman Juan Sanchez. The pedestrian was taken to a nearby trauma center, where he was pronounced dead about an hour later. He was near a crosswalk but it's not clear if he was crossing legally. - (Newsroom) |
Black Minister Charged With Raping Girl, 12 New Castle County police have charged an ordained minister from Claymont with raping an adolescent girl. David A. Merritt, 44, was arrested Wednesday after a three-week investigation into allegations that he began sexually abusing the girl in 2006, when she was 12 years old. Merritt is charged with eight counts of first-degree rape, two counts of first-degree unlawful sexual contact and one count of continuous sexual abuse of a child. - (Newsroom) |
