Black to appear in court in attempted assassination of White police officer   The man who Omaha police said shot officer Paul Latschar will appear in court Friday. Corey T. Allen, 30, faces attempted first-degree murder, use of a weapon to commit a felony and possession of a weapon by a felon. Allen's criminal history includes 20 separate entries. He has served two state prison terms and one stint in a federal penitentiary. Meanwhile, surgeons said Latschar's condition continues to improve. The eight-year veteran was sitting up and talking Thursday. Creighton University surgeons narrowly saved Latschar's life after a gang member shot him multiple times Wednesday night. Black teen raped a 6-year-old girl A teenager has turned himself in to police after DNA testing allegedly shows he raped a 6 year-old girl who lives near him. According to Colerain Township Police, 18 year-old Daniel Watkins turned himself in at the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office.
The case dates back to late March of this year. Watkins denied touching the girl, but willingly submitted his DNA for testing. His DNA reportedly matched DNA found on the victim's body. - (Newsroom) |
Police: Black "Taser man" accused of indecency with a child Police said they were forced to use a stun gun to subdue a registered sex offender after he allegedly inappropriately touched a child and then took off his clothes at Vandergriff Park in Arlington. The incident began after Troy Lee Smith III, 41, allegedly touched a four-year-old child's groin through the child's clothes. Parents told authorities that they pushed Smith away from their child, which was when they said he took off his clothes in front of them and their child. - (Newsroom) |
Dark Church Leader Charged With 30 Child Sex Crimes - raped 5-year-old  OAK HARBOR, Wash. -- A babysitter and Oak Harbor church leader was charged with 30 counts of sexual assault against children, according to charging documents. Nathan Martinez, 21, was a youth leader who taught Sunday school and helped children learn dance routines at the Living Faith Christian Center Church. Documents showed that Martinez is charged with 10 separate counts of first-degree child rape against a 5-year-old, 19 counts of child molestation and one count of attempted child molestation. The victims' ages range from 3 to 13 years and included both boys and girls. - (Newsroom) |

Crazy black would have killed more if not shot by police  On Feb. 7, Charles "Cookie" Thornton shot and killed five people, including two police officers, two city council members and the city's public works director. Former Kirkwood Mayor Mike Swoboda was shot twice in the head, but survived. Officers shot and killed Thornton at the scene. Thornton had been feuding with City Hall for more than a decade. He blamed the city for his demolition business losing contracts and was angry about the numerous tickets he received for code violations and illegally parking his work trucks. Thornton stormed into Kirkwood City Hall shortly after the Pledge of Allegiance. He’d already confronted and killed police Sgt. William Biggs outside, taken the officer’s gun and headed into the city council meeting. His first victim inside City Hall was police Officer Tom Ballman. With the gun he brought and the one he took from Biggs, Thornton opened fire at city leaders. He killed council members Michael H.T. Lynch and Connie Karr, Public Works Director Ken Yost and critically wounded Mayor Mike Swoboda. Suburban Journals reporter Todd Smith was shot in the hand. - (Newsroom) - (Black-on-white) |
New trial for black Georgia woman convicted of shooting 85-year-old boyfriend in jealous rage  A judge granted Lena Driskell a new trial after she was convicted in 2006 of murdering her 86-year-old ex boyfriend. In 2006, an Atlanta jury convicted 79-year-old Lena Driskell of murder in the death of 85-year-old Herman Winslow in June 2005 at the assisted living home where they both lived. A judge sentenced Driskell to life in prison plus five years. - (Newsroom) |

SANTA ANA, Calif. (AP) _ Two men who tortured an Irvine college student to reveal where her family kept valuables and then strangled her in her home have been sentenced to death. 
Brian Nichols is charged with four murders in connection with the March 2005 shooting at the Fulton County Courthouse. Police said Nichols killed a Fulton County judge and court reporter in a courtroom there, along with a Fulton County deputy outside the courthouse, and a federal agent several miles away. 
DETROIT (AP) _ For anyone keeping score, the leader of the nation's 11th-largest city now faces 10 felony charges in two separate cases. Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick was charged Friday with assaulting two investigators who were trying to deliver a subpoena to the mayor's friend last month. The two felony counts carry a maximum penalty of two years in prison and a fine of $2,000. Kilpatrick spent Thursday night in jail after violating bond conditions in the other case against him. He is accused along with a former top aide of perjury and other charges over their testimony in a lawsuit.
