Pastor Sergio Alvarizarez accused of raping at least eight women in his congregation PORTLAND, Ore. -- Several members of a local church said they’ll take legal action after their pastor was arrested on rape charges. Sergio Alvarizarez was transferred to the Multnomah County Jail Thursday morning after his arrest. Police said they linked Alvarizarez, 38, to the sexual assault of eight women who are associated with his church, Casa Del Padre Church. Officers responded to the church on a disturbance call last month. When police arrived, they found several members of the church arguing with Alvarizarez about allegations of improper sexual contact. - (Newsroom) |

Black admits to murder of White woman in church   N.C. -- The man arrested for stabbing two Meals on Wheels workers at a Rocky Mount church, leaving one dead and the other hospitalized, has confessed to the crime. Rocky Mount police said Tommy Lee Holiday, 30, admitted to authorities that he stabbed Debbie Kornegay and Eve Beasley. Kornegay, 58, died in the attack, while Beasley was taken to Nash Hospital first and then transferred to Pitt County Memorial Hospital in Greenville. She is in critical condition. Kornegay and Beasley were preparing meals at Lakeside Baptist Church on Oct. 18 when witnesses say Holiday tried to rob them. Black Suspect rape-murder of White co-ed expected to take stand - his semen found   Orange Taylor III was expected to take the stand in his own defense when his trial resumes. Taylor, 21, is a former Eastern Michigan University student charged in the December 2006 slaying of EMU student Laura Dickinson in her Hill Hall dormitory room. His testimony will follow a nearly five-hour tape recorded interview with detectives played to the jury. During that Jan. 25 interview, Taylor admitted to being in Dickinson's room and taking a bag, but he denied ever touching or even seeing her. Taylor is charged with open murder, assault with intent to commit sexual penetration, home invasion and larceny in a building. The body of 22-year-old Dickinson was found in her dorm room Dec. 15, a little more than two days after she is believed to have died. Black charged with Aug. 12 student rape is same man charged with stalking A Chickasaw County man who was arrested and charged on Oct. 3 for stalking a female MSU student was arrested again Thursday in connection with the Aug. 12 rape of another student. Johnny Griffis Jr., 30, also known as "Radar" Griffis, is being held on a $100,000 bond. The rape occurred near the University Drive bridge that connects the MSU campus to the city of Starkville. An 18-year-old student was jogging when she was ordered by a man who had been hiding in a wooded area to follow him under the bridge. He then raped her.
The assailant was described as a black male in his mid-20s who was reportedly wearing a gray tank top, black shorts and a pair of tan gardening gloves during the time of the incident. - (Newsroom) - (crime) |
Did 'racism' drive black youth to die while attempting to rob an adult video store? - Family is stumped The family and friends of a 17-year-old who was shot and killed while attempting to rob an adult-video store don’t know why he would have wanted to commit a robbery. Willie H. Winder III, of Fort Wayne, was shot by a clerk at VIP Video after he entered the store, pulled a handgun and demanded cash. The clerk, whose identity has not been released by police, has not been charged with a crime. It was after Winder lost his job at the Chuck Wagon barbecue restaurant that “it went downhill,” his mother said. Afro Sports: Black footballer accused of rape - defense team attack victim - leak her name  On Wednesday, Assistant District Attorney Lance Marshall said that he knew of the woman's past, but that it had no bearing on Austin Scott's case. "It has nothing to do with the events of Oct. 5," Marshall said again yesterday, accusing the defense of "inappropriately" leaking the woman's name to the press. The 22-year-old woman testified that she had known Scott for two months before the alleged attack at his on-campus apartment. Police arrest 2 Negroes in connection with brutal rape Police have arrested two men in connection with a brutal rape where the victim was hit several times in the head with a two-by-four. Jequan Sloan, 27, was arrested this morning and charged with attemped murder, rape, sex offense, kidnapping and possession of a firearm by a felon. Officers also arrested a man they believe played an indirect role in the Wednesday morning sexual assault and beating. Kevin Martel Laney was charged with accessory to a felony after the fact and possession of a firearm by a felon in connection with the rape. Witnesses told the Observer they heard a woman screaming outside a vacant apartment just before 6 a.m. When they looked that way, they saw a man punch the woman in the face and knock her down. Black serial rape suspect arrested The suspect in a series of rapes and attempted rapes that occurred in the city’s Eastside was arrested police said. U.S. Marshals arrested Darnell Hagan, 25, at around 9:30 a.m. at his mother’s home. Hagan was transferred to the Paterson municipal lock-up, awaiting arraignment on sexual assault charges. Police said last month that Hagan’s DNA was discovered on one of the rape victims. Two woman and one teenage girl were raped, while two others, including a 12-year-old girl, escaped their attacker. - (Newsroom) |
