Black Somali Muslim Migrant Driver Who Allegedly Ran Over College Students Stole Car NASHVILLE, Tenn. — A Muslim cab driver who is being charged with attempted homicide after he allegedly tried to run over two college students after a religion dispute stole the cab he was driving and was pocketing the fares, the owner of the cab company told FOX News. Ibrahim Ahmed, a 37-year-old Sunni Muslim from Somalia, tried to run over two college students near Vanderbilt University early Sunday morning after getting into the argument, police said. Ahmed picked up the two fares — college students visiting Nashville from Ohio — near the Vanderbilt campus, according to the incident report. It was first believed that Ahmed worked for United Cab Co., but owner Roderick Brown told FOX News on Tuesday that he was not an employee and was fired last year after a high-speed chase with Nashville police. The cab Ahmed was driving was supposed to be having its transmission fixed. Brown said he believes Ahmed, who teaches English as a second language next door, took the keys hanging inside the cab company. Brown said Ahmed may have made his way into the company from through the classroom suite. - (Newsroom) - (crime) - (Invasion!) Black Muslim Migrant Driver Who Allegedly Ran Over Men in Court Thurs. |

Guard Sentenced in Prison Sex Scandal A former federal prison guard was sentenced Wednesday to a year of home detention and three years probation for his role in a sex-for-contraband scheme that ended in a deadly gun battle last summer. E. Lavon Spence, who pleaded guilty to mail fraud in October, was sentenced in federal court. Prison time "would affect the recovery" of Spence from his November stroke at the age of 40. A Justice Department special agent was killed and a prison officer was wounded in June when they came to arrest the six guards at the Tallahassee Federal Correctional Institution. One of the guards, Ralph Hill, was also killed in the gunfight Hill started. Three of the guards have already been sentenced to a year in prison, with two also receiving three years of probation after their release. - (Newsroom) - (crime) |
'McMISSILE' CASE DRAWS MEDIA * Woman who hurled "McMissile" spared from prison A woman who hurled a McDonald's cup of ice into a car that cut her off in traffic was sentenced to probation instead of prison Wednesday. Jessica Hall, 25, could have gotten two years behind bars after being convicted last month of maliciously throwing a missile - the cup of ice - into an occupied vehicle in what was dubbed the "McMissile" case. No one was injured in the incident last July on Interstate 95. Hall thanked Judge Frank A. Hoss Jr. and wept after he put her on probation for five years. She has been in jail since Jan. 4. Prosecutor Daniel M. Chichester wanted her sent to prison, saying, "It is important to remember that it is not what is thrown but the danger created by that act that Virginia law seeks to protect against." - (Newsroom) - (crime) |
