Alfonso Rodriguez Jr. Gets Death Sentence For Dru Sjodin's Murder
Alfonso Rodriguez JrDru SjodinARGO, N.D. -- A rapist who killed a University of North Dakota student has been formally sentenced to death. Alfonso Rodriguez showed no emotion as a judge handed down the sentence for kidnapping resulting in the death of Dru Sjodin. The 22-year-old disappeared from a shopping mall parking lot in 2003. Investigators found her body in a ravine five months later, and said she'd been beaten, raped and stabbed. Rodriguez had been released from prison after serving time for offenses including rape and attempted kidnapping a short time before the slaying. - (Newsroom) - (crime)


   

    Lawyer: Court shooting plea deal nixed
Brian NicholsATLANTA The lawyer for a man accused of killing four people during a shooting rampage that began inside an Atlanta courthouse in 2005 says prosecutors have rejected a plea deal. Attorney Gary Parker tells The Associated Press, Brian Nichols is willing to change his plea to guilty in the deaths of a judge, court reporter, sheriff's deputy and federal agent in exchange for a sentence of life in prison without parole. Parker says "it would bring closure." But he says the state has turned the offer down. - (Newsroom)

    FORT MYERS, Fla. -- A man who fought to claim the remains of his dead wife has been charged with her death and the death of his mother-in-law, authorities said. Juan Mendez Jr., 28, was arrested Wednesday for the July stabbing deaths of his estranged wife, Whitney Mendez, 19, and her mother, Lorena Stone, 49. The women were found dead in their Lehigh Acres home.

    TUCSON, Ariz. -- A woman was sentenced Wednesday to more than a year in prison for trying to smuggle two Mexican children into the United States by pretending they were her own. Brenda Aguirre, 25, of Phoenix, was accused of trying to enter the United States with the children April 2 at the Douglas border crossing. She claimed the children were hers and that they were U.S. citizens.

William Lorenzo Page Charged With Murder of 23-month-old Daughter
William Lorenzo PageNyia Page Late last night, the Allegheny County Police arrested William Lorenzo Page, 22, in connection with the death of his daughter, 23-month-old Nyia Page. Charges include, criminal homicide, filing a false police report, kidnapping and simple assault. Page was already in jail at the time of his arrest. He was being held on charges of simple and indecent assault of a child, endangering the welfare of children and corruption of minors. Those charges came after a six-year-old boy made allegations that Page had indecently assaulted him and struck him with a belton previous occasions. James Jackson HUNTSVILLE, Texas -- A parolee condemned for killing his two stepdaughters during a strangling spree almost 10 years ago was executed Wednesday night. James Jackson known to fellow death row inmates as "Big Jack," insisted he wasn't responsible for the April 9, 1997 slayings of Sonceria "Sonnie" Mayes, 19, and her sister Ericka, 18, at the apartment they shared with Jackson and his wife, Sharon, 39. Sharon Jackson, the girls' mother, also was murdered. - (Newsroom) - (crime)

    Texas Police ID Black Suspect in Serial Homo Rapes of White Men

One of America's most wanted homo faggot predators is off the streets. Residents of Baytown were relieved Wednesday after a suspected rapist was arrested. The suspect, 19-year-old Baytown resident Keith Chester Hill, has been charged with one incident, but investigators say he could be involved in as many as five. Hill took part in five lineups today, and the Harris County’ Sheriff’s Department said one victim identified Hill from one of those lineups for a home invasion. The district attorney’s office has also accepted aggravated robbery charges against Hill. But Baytown police say even more charges could follow. Baytown Police Department Lt. David Alford credits the Baytown Talk blog, which he frequently monitored for information on the case, with keeping the search for the rapist in the spotlight. “Personally I’d like to castrate him myself, but I think it’s great that they caught him,” Lynn Senesac said.- (Newsroom) - (crime) - (Black-on-white)

    Oklahoma Teen Accused in 5 Killings
Joshua Julius AndersonPolice arrested a teenager suspected of killing five people in the same Tulsa, Oklahoma neighborhood since November. The victims were found within blocks of each other. Together they comprise a third of the city's homicide victims this year, 4 were killed in the last two weeks. Joshua Julius Anderson,19, was already being held on a Muskogee County rape charge when Investigators added five complaints of first-degree murder yesterday. Sgt. Mike Huff said the investigation shows that Anderson, 19, was "terrorizing a neighborhood" and that the deaths were motivated by robbery, disputes and drugs. "Five dead people in a matter of months is a lot," Huff said. Anderson is accused of killing Evaristo Tovias on Nov. 5, Christopher Moderow, and David Gilbert on Jan. 24. Anderson is also accused in police affidavits of killing a woman and her adult son -- identified in police reports as Rose Mary and Herbert Hobbs. - (Newsroom) - (crime)

    Boynton Beach Mall Shooting Suspect Arrested - Pierre Was Hiding In Closet
Wilson Pierre Jr.A suspect in the fatal shooting of a man at a Palm Beach County mall on Christmas Eve was arrested along with a second man. Wilson Pierre Jr. was wanted on a second-degree murder charge. He had warrants out for his arrest on that charge, as well as failure to appear in court on an original charge of cocaine possession. Pierre, 21, was arrested in Tallahassee after leaving South Florida,. He was found hiding in a closet. Also arrested Wesner Jermaine Pierre, 22, who was charged with being an accessory after the fact and resisting an officer without violence. He was being held on $1,500 bond, a jail official said.The shooting inside the Boynton Beach Mall on Dec. 24 was gang-related.
