  Would-be illegal immigrants planning to cross the desert and enter the United States on foot are to be given hand-held satellite devices by the Mexican authorities to ensure they arrive safely. Those who get lost or fall sick during the dangerous four-day crossing will be able to activate the device, to alert frontier police on both sides of the border. The satellite tracking service will require would-be illegals to register their intentions before setting off - a paradoxical move, given that secrecy is necessary for success - but Mexican authorities are predicting that about 200,000 devices will be handed out when the project is launched formally in the coming year. - (Newsroom) - (Invasion!)

  Denver Broncos cornerback Darrent Williams was shot and killed in a drive-by shooting in downtown Denver early Monday morning. Team spokesman Jim Saccomano said police called him about 3 a.m. from the scene of the shooting and told him three people had been shot and that Williams, 24, had been killed. A little after 2 a.m., a white Hummer limousine was sprayed with bullets from a vehicle that pulled along side, said Sonny Jackson, spokesperson for the Denver Police Department.   Texas (AP) -- A man unhappy with an Islamic association's plans to build a mosque next to his property has staged pig races as a protest during afternoon prayers. Craig Baker, 46, sold merchandise and grilled sausages Friday for about 100 people who showed up in heavy rain. He insisted he wasn't trying to offend anyone with the pigs, which are forbidden from the Muslim diet. "I am just defending my rights and my property," Baker said. Texas -- A man is wanted on suspicion of shooting another man to death on Christmas Day. Harris County sheriff's deputies said Joel Medrano Sefuentes was killed in the 930 block of South Mason Road at about 5:30 p.m. Witnesses told officials that Humberto Atrian Vazquez shot Sefuentes in the chest after the two got into an argument. RLINGTON - Police issued an arrest warrant for Jesus Rodriguez, 22, in connection with the fatal stabbing of his brother-in-law on Christmas Eve. Police say Rodriguez got into a fight with Jesus Luna, 19, about 11:50 p.m. at the home of a friend. During the fight, Rodriguez pulled out a knife and is suspected of stabbing Luna several times, police said. Luna was taken to Medical Center of Arlington where he was pronounced dead. Police describe Rodriguez as a Hispanic man, nearly five-feet tall. - (Newsroom) - (crime)

Police say around 5 a.m. Jesus Hernandez, 22, forced his way into an apartment and armed himself with two knives. He reportedly told Jorge Hernandez-Ramirez, 23, who was inside the apartment, that he was going to kill him. Hernandez-Ramirez and Tonya Bodda, 25, ran upstairs and barricaded themselves in a bedroom. Drunken illegal Mexican slaughters White American family
There are still a lot of questions about the suspected drunk driver who killed a woman and two of her children while driving under the influence on Christmas Eve. Carlos Prieto is in the Salt Lake County Jail. Prieto was booked into the Salt Lake County Jail on suspicion on vehicular homicide, driving under the influence, and driving without a license. Police arrested Prieto on Christmas Eve morning, when he ran a red light and broadsided a car carrying the Ceran family. Cheryl Ceran, her son, Ian, and daughter, Julianna, died. Gary Ceran and two other children survived. When police arrived at the scene, Prieto smelled strongly of alcohol and had glassy, bloodshot eyes. The Immigration and Customs Enforcement believes he is a Mexican national and here illegally. ICE has issued a hold on him, so he can be turned over to them once the criminal against him is resolved. - (Newsroom) - (crime) - (Invasion!)

Houston Police Search For Mestizo Christmas Day Killer of White American
Investigators need help solving a 9-year-old Christmas Day killing. Houston police said Roger Stobaugh, 27, was killed when he interrupted a burglary at his home on Dec. 25, 1997. Stobaugh confronted one of the burglars in the back yard and was shot after a brief struggle. A second person arrested in connection with the incident identified Javier "Aguedo" Solis as the shooter, police said. A $5,000 reward was offered for information leading to Solis' arrest.
