Chinese pimp operated next to police station Edina police are investigating an alleged prostitution ring that was operating in an apartment complex located next door to a police and fire substation. One man is in jail and two women have also been charged in connection with the alleged prostitution ring that was reportedly operated out of the Durham Apartments in the 7200 block of York Avenue. The criminal complaint outlines an illegal business, that operated in a seventh floor apartment and involved a near-around-the clock schedule. This was the first sting operation for Edina police in several years. Arrested is 54-year old Guowen Pang who is charged with operating a prostitution ring which is a felony offense. Authorities say they've confiscated records that seem to point to an elaborate operation. A subsequent search of Pang's safe deposit box yielded a FedEx shipping envelope with two sealed envelopes, each containing $1,000 in cash, and a sealed envelope with two Chinese passports. U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement also has initiated an investigation into Yang's apartment. - (Newsroom) - (Invasion!) |

UK: Black gets only 14 years free room and board for butchering his white ex-girfriend A black has been jailed for at least 14 years for murdering his ex-girlfriend and attempting to murder her new boyfriend. Peter Martin knew his relationship with Karen Hartshorne was over but could not accept she was with someone else, Crown Court heard. Miss Hartshorne's throat was cut and she was stabbed six times at her home in Coseley, West Midlands, in February. Martin, 38, later threatened to jump off a bridge. He admitted her murder last month at Wolverhampton Crown Court and earlier this week was convicted of the attempted murder of Ms Hartshorne's new boyfriend Paul Round. Judge Frank Chapman told him the ferocity of the killing meant that he posed a risk of serious harm to the public. - (Newsroom) - (UK) - (Black-on-white) |
White bouncer described his black killer before dying * Bouncer killed during fight at Blaine bar As he lay on the floor bleeding, investigators say Greg Klaers, a 24-year-old bouncer at a sports bar in Blaine, gave a denoscription to police and others of the man who had just stabbed him. "He was clutching his abdomen and he was telling bar personnel and an officer that responded that it was a guy in an orange shirt." Klaers was stabbed during a series of large fights at the Time Out bar and restaurant shortly before closing time, early Friday morning. He was taken to a hospital and died a few hours later. Upon hearing Klaers' dying declaration, officers and bar personnel looked around the bar and noticed a man in an orange shirt quickly leaving. Behind the bar, police arrested 34-year-old Malachi Andrews. Investigators say, at the time of his arrest, Andrews had an orange shirt in his hand. A few feet away, investigators found what they believe to be the murder weapon. "[Police] followed [the suspect's] footprints and they found, near a light pole a knife which appeared to have just been set on the fresh snow, next to the light pole," said Kish. Tuesday morning, Anoka County prosecutors charged Andrews with second-degree murder. They also charged two other men, Charles Gregory Andrews and Johnny Royce Hunter of Hopkins with second-degree assault for allegedly hitting others over the head with bottles during the bar fight. Charles Andrews and Malachi Andrews are brothers. - (Newsroom) - (crime) - (Black-on-white) |
Demarcus convicted of murdering girl, 15 - stabbed 16 times PHILADELPHIA -- A man was convicted Thursday of first-degree murder in the death of a 15-year-old girl who authorities said was stabbed, beaten, burned and thrown in the water before being found dead on a riverbank. Demarcus Hamms, 21, the fourth and final defendant in the case, was convicted in the April 2005 death of Christine Ham, a Chester High School sophomore killed at a Southwest Philadelphia housing project. A Common Pleas Court jury deliberated for nearly five hours during two days before returning its verdict. Hamms showed no emotion in court as the foreman read the guilty verdicts on the murder charge and on criminal conspiracy and weapons offenses. Prosecutors did not seek the death penalty, so Hamms will be sentenced to life in prison at his sentencing hearing. Joan Ignudo, the victim's mother, said the verdict meant "a new beginning" for family members. "It gave us a little bit of peace," she said. - (Newsroom) - (crime) |

Williamsport Negro Charged with Rape of 12-year-old Girl A Williamsport man was arrested on Christmas morning on charges that he sexually assaulted a child. Williamsport police say Shaun Cormier, 20, is accused of raping a 12-year-old girl on Sunday. The victim said the assault happened at a home that she and a friend went to around 4 p.m. The girl's friend, a 14-year-old girl, said the two went to the home to meet with a man they knew as "Rock" and his cousin, whose name they did not know. The cousin was later determined to be Cormier. When the girls arrived, "Rock" was not home, but Cormier asked them to come inside. Cormier allegedly forced the younger girl into a bedroom and assaulted her. The 14-year-old told police she heard her friend scream for help from the next room. Cormier faces numerous charges in connection with the alleged assault. - (Newsroom) - (crime) |
"Happy Holidays" - Erratic and irate Negro kills Negro in shooting at Boynton mall There was an argument, a shoving match and then gunfire at a mall on Christmas Eve. One man was dying in front of a record store and last-minute shoppers fled while the bullets were still flying. As the gunman fired at responding officers, police chased him from one end of the Boynton Beach Mall to the other. He was finally cornered in the Women's department of Dillard's and arrested by the SWAT team. Shoppers dropped their bags and ran for the doors or hit the floor. Children were trampled. Stores quickly closed their gates, but some stayed open long enough to ring up the last line of customers. Some of Dillard's employees were locked in a room for more than an hour, then walked out with their hands up, escorted by officers with their guns drawn. One of the employees, still wearing his nametag and shaking so bad he could barely walk straight, said, "We were locked in a room. Did you see them bring us out?" About 2 p.m., Margaret Phillips saw the suspect -- wearing all black -- cussing and acting erratically in the infant's section on the upper level of Macy's over a receipt. "This guy was irate, crazy," Phillips said. About 20 minutes later, she said, the same man was in an argument with a group of other people outside of J.C. Penney. Witnesses said it started as a shoving match, and that the two men appeared to know each other. Police late Sunday identified the gunman as 21-year-old Jesse Cesar. He fired at Berno Charlemond, 23, striking him several times, killing him, Katz said. - (Newsroom) - (crime) |
