Pastor indicted in "lesbian demon" rape case FORT WORTH -- A 63-year-old pastor accused of raping a church member last year during a ceremony to cast out demons has been indicted by a Tarrant County grand jury. Leonard Ray Owens, who is free on $25,000 bail, is now awaiting trial on a charge of sexual assault -- a second-degree felony punishable by two to 20 years in prison. Police have said that they began investigating Owens last year after a 22-year-old woman reported that Owens raped her on two occasions at his Fort Worth home. The woman told police that, several months after she began attending the Prayer House of Faith she went to Owens' home for counseling after having a miscarriage. There, the woman told police, Owens said she had a sex spirit and lesbian demon inside her that he needed to cast out. The pastor then asked her to lie on the floor and began yelling at her as if she were a demon, saying "Loose her in the name of Jesus," according to an arrest warrant affidavit. The woman told police that Owens pulled down her pants as he called for the demons to come out. When she tried to get up, he pushed her down, the affidavit said. The pastor then began to fight with her as if she were a demon before climbing on top of her, pinning her down and raping her, police have said. Afterward, Owens, a self-proclaimed prophet, ordered her to wash her face in the name of Jesus and to read Psalm 105:15, which says to do no harm to prophets, the woman told police. The woman told police that Owens raped her again a month later, after he asked her come to his house to pray for another woman. - (Newsroom) - (crime) |

Terrell was caught in California when he applied for a job at McDonald’s and they ran a background check. Meanwhile in Cobb, police received 80 reports of the peeper, and probably many more went unreported. Police have now charged Frederick Terrell with 30 of those incidents. His arrest seemingly led to the end of those calls. Terrell is being held on $75,000 bond and is also facing charges in Fulton County. - (Newsroom) - (crime) |

Police Want Murder Charges on Terrorist Afghan Migrant Nabbed After Hit-and-Runs SAN FRANCISCO — Police will recommend murder charges be filed against the man who went on a hit-and-run rampage, using his SUV to kill one pedestrian and injure at least 18 others, officials said. Omeed Aziz Popal, 29, was arrested Tuesday in San Francisco after police cruisers boxed in his smashed-up sport utility vehicle following the attacks. Popal's relatives said he had been suffering from delusions and stress from his recent arranged marriage in the family's home country, Afghanistan. Investigators believe the first person hit was Stephen Jay Wilson, 54, who was killed as he walked home in Fremont, across San Francisco Bay. Popal then hit others in San Francisco, police said. Fremont police are pursuing murder charges against Popal based on statements he made to investigators, and an arrest warrant would be issued in the next few days, officials said Wednesday. "After our conversation with him, we are now confident he is responsible for the hit-and-run death of our citizen," said Detective Bill Veteran. On Wednesday, San Francisco District Attorney Kamala Harris' office charged Popal with 18 counts of attempted murder, 18 counts of assault with a deadly weapon, one count of battery on a peace officer causing injury and one count of reckless evasion from police. - (Newsroom) - (Invasion!)
