| Self Proclaimed Terrorist, Omeed Aziz Popal Mounts San Francisco SUV Jihad Near Jewish Center San Francisco, CA - PipeLineNews.org - The first call yesterday through the S.F. Police Dept. switchboard came at 12:47 PM. The report was for a hit-and-run but before the 20 minute rampage was over one pedestrian lay dead and at least 13 others were injured, some very seriously including two who were crushed under the wheels of the assailant's SUV on the sidewalk in front of the San Francisco Jewish Center, located at 3200 California Street. The driver, Omeed Aziz Popal used his black Honda Pilot as a battering ram as he slalomed through a 15 square block area - on the hunt for pedestrians - jumping curbs, careening over sidewalks and driving against traffic. On the scene, KTVU reporter Rob Roth stated that one of the eye-witnesses [who declined to appear on camera] claimed that Opal "referred to himself as a terrorist." |

Police Want Murder Charges on Terrorist Afghan Migrant Nabbed After Hit-and-Runs  SAN FRANCISCO — Police will recommend murder charges be filed against the man who went on a hit-and-run rampage, using his SUV to kill one pedestrian and injure at least 18 others, officials said. Omeed Aziz Popal, 29, was arrested Tuesday in San Francisco after police cruisers boxed in his smashed-up sport utility vehicle following the attacks. Popal's relatives said he had been suffering from delusions and stress from his recent arranged marriage in the family's home country, Afghanistan. Investigators believe the first person hit was Stephen Jay Wilson, 54, who was killed as he walked home in Fremont, across San Francisco Bay. Popal then hit others in San Francisco, police said. Fremont police are pursuing murder charges against Popal based on statements he made to investigators, and an arrest warrant would be issued in the next few days, officials said Wednesday. "After our conversation with him, we are now confident he is responsible for the hit-and-run death of our citizen," said Detective Bill Veteran. On Wednesday, San Francisco District Attorney Kamala Harris' office charged Popal with 18 counts of attempted murder, 18 counts of assault with a deadly weapon, one count of battery on a peace officer causing injury and one count of reckless evasion from police. - (Newsroom) - (Invasion!) Police Seek Black Man For Alleged Rape of 10-year-old Girl At Movie Theater  A man who raped a 10-year-old girl at a movie theater complex in the Antelope Valley Mall in Palmdale remained at large Wednesday. The attack occurred about 1:30 Tuesday afternoon at the Movies 10 complex in the 1200 block of West Avenue P, said Sgt. Paul Patterson of the Sheriff's Headquarters Bureau. The suspect pulled the youngster into an empty movie theater, where he "verbally threatened and sexually assaulted her," Patterson said. The man then ran off. He was described as black, 35 to 45 years old, 5 feet 9 inches tall and 180 pounds, with a black/gray mustache. He wore a white short-sleeve shirt and dark blue warm-up pants with white stripes on the outer seams. - (Newsroom) - (crime) |
Officer, Woman Recover After Hotel Standoff A Dallas police officer and a woman were recovering after being shot during an early-morning standoff at a hotel. Sr. Cpl. Jeremy Borchardt suffered a gunshot wound to the leg and a hostage was shot twice during the incident at the Raddison Hotel on Mockingbird Lane. Police said the gunman, Ronald Robinson, had called paramedics for help after shooting a woman inside his hotel room. However, Robinson refused to open the door for emergency personnel when they arrived, police said. Robinson began firing when officers arrived at the scene, police said. A bullet that passed through a wall struck Borchardt. The standoff ended when Robinson fatally shot himself and the woman escaped, police said. - (Newsroom) - (crime) |
Sheriff: Hispanic Landscaper Beaten by Black Over Grass-Cutting JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- St. Johns County authorities said a Hollywood man is under arrest for using an aluminum bat to beat a man who was working for him on a landscaping crew. Sheriff officials said Lance Wamley, 26, confronted Eric Torres, 23, because Wamley didn't like the way he was cutting grass. Witnesses said the two got in a fight that a co-worker broke up. Authorities said Wamley went to his truck and came back with the bat. He allegedly threatened Torres and another co-worker who tried to intervene. According to police, Torres was hit several times in his chest, the back of his head and his arm before a co-worker took a hammer and stood between the two. - (Newsroom) - (crime) |
Wife, Son Stabbed, Suspect In ICU Officers responded to a stabbing call. Upon arrival, officers say they found two stabbing victims - a female and young male. The female victim, Inger T. Henderson, told police the younger male victim was her son, Robert Lee Henderson Junior - and that her husband had stabbed them both. She said her husband grabbed a knife or fork and stabbed her in the neck during an argument. Inger Henderson says her son heard her screams and came into the kitchen to help her. That's when, she says, her husband stabbed his own son multiple times before the two were able to escape on foot. Police located the suspect, 35-year-old Robert Lee Henderson Senior, had what appeared to be multiple, self-inflicted stab wounds. - (Newsroom) - (crime) |

Detroit: Black serial killer charged in slaying of seven prostitutes Detroit - A man was charged in the slayings of seven prostitutes in Detroit between 2001 and this year. Shelly Andre Brooks faces seven counts of premeditated murder and seven counts of felony murder. The Detroit resident faces a sentence of life in prison without parole if convicted of any of the counts. Brooks remains a suspect in the deaths of seven other prostitutes. The Detroit Police Chief said the other seven killings were “very similar,” but she declined to comment further. All were raped and killed by blunt-force trauma. Utah reporter Shinika Sykes fired for plagiarism of student newspaper - In the tradition of MLK  SALT LAKE CITY — A reporter who covered higher education for Utah's largest newspaper has been fired after being accused of plagiarism. Shinika Sykes, who had worked for The Salt Lake Tribune since 1993, was fired Monday after editors found that a story under her name was phrased similarly to a story that appeared in the University of Utah's student newspaper. "We've addressed this situation with the reporter, and her employment here has been terminated," Tribune Editor Nancy Conway was quoted as saying in the newspaper on Tuesday. She did not immediately return a call from The Associated Press. |

She was humiliated at school, called a liar in court and had her Higher School Certificate disrupted by legal warfare. "I cancelled my whole life for three years," said Tegan Wagner at the end of her rape trial. It had been delayed nine times, as her assailants, the K brothers, sought to prevent and then abort the trial. Yet she wouldn't change a thing. "All this has turned into a positive," she said this week. "I wouldn't change anything. By coming out, by addressing an issue that is taboo, it has changed my life. I'm doing something positive instead of wallowing and hiding. I am addressing an issue that never seems to be addressed: how these crimes affect the lives of the victims. "So much good has come out of it. It's helped with my future; it's given me a direction. It's helped me to help other girls. By doing that, I've helped myself." Black Man Raped & Murdered Georgina Kimble In Iowa   Iowa tried to cage suspect as a sex predator Keith Owens Parker was arrested three times prior to telling police on Aug. 6 that he had raped and murdered an alleged prostitute. A Des Moines man who told police he raped and murdered a prostitute earlier this month was released from prison about three years earlier, records show, after Iowa authorities dropped efforts to confine him indefinitely as a dangerous sexual predator. Keith Owens Parker, 48, remains jailed on a charge of first-degree murder in connection with the death of Georgina Kimble, 37. "That outrages me," said Sandra Moreland, Kimble's mother. "I believe in rehabilitation. But there's a difference between rehabilitating them and knowing you can't rehabilitate them. ... The laws in this state are messed up." Convicted rapist inmate hid jail keys in his rectum * Inmate Says He Needed To See His Mother OMAHA, Neb. -- The Douglas County Sheriff's Department said they've caught a convicted rapist in the middle of a plan to escape from jail. They said Damon Fitzgerald, 29, managed to obtain a handcuff key about 30 days ago. He apparently got in a fight with an officer and managed to get the officer's key ring and then barricaded himself inside his cell. Officers said Fitzgerald broke apart the key ring and scattered the keys around the cell. By the time they came in and searched, one key was missing. Lieutenants said for an entire month Fitzgerald kept the key wrapped up in a plastic bag hidden inside his rectum. - (Newsroom) - (crime) |
Exonerated rape suspect faces rape charges again  CLEVELAND -- Donte Booker served 18-years behind bars for a rape he didn't commit. In November, 1986, Booker was convicted of raping a woman. He was identified after he was picked up for an unrelated carjacking a few months later Booker always maintained his innocence, and eventually a DNA test proved he was telling the truth. Booker was freed and awarded $600,000 for the time he served. Now, Booker is accused of rape once again. After walking out of prison a free man back in February of 2005, Booker's facing the possibility of going back "I did so much for this girl and her daughter, and I don't feel that I deserve this," said Booker. While Booker was living in Maple Heights with his former fiancée, she accused him of raping her 12-year-old daughter. - (crime) |
