Black man accused of forced-abortion attempt pleads guilty in court A man accused of trying to force his girlfriend at gunpoint to get an abortion pleaded guilty this morning to charges of attempted murder, abduction and having a weapon under disability. Dominic L. Holt-Reid could be sentenced to 20 years in prison. Holt-Reid, 28, was arrested Oct. 6 after police say he pointed a handgun at Yolanda Burgess and drove her to an East Side abortion clinic for a scheduled appointment after she told him she didn't want to go through with the procedure. - (Newsroom) |
Black charged with sexual abuse, attempted robbery The victim told investigators she was walking to her car and the suspect approached her to ask what about the time. After giving the suspect the correct time, the victim said he pulled his pants down and exposed himself. The victim began walking to her car, but the suspect followed, asking if she needed help with her groceries. The victim made it her to car and started loading her groceries into the car. The suspect pulled his pants down and exposed himself a second time, then rubbed himself against the victim. The victim said the suspect took her wallet, but she was able to take it back before he ran off behind the grocery store. Elderly black man arrested after allegedly stabbing wife, cutting daughter An elderly suburban Boca Raton man was charged with aggravated domestic battery with a weapon after he cut his wife and daughter with a knife. Hubert Smith, 72, faces two counts of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and two counts of battery. Rescue workers went to the 9300 block of Southwest Third Street, where they found two women who had been cut and were bleeding. Smith's daughter told a sheriff's corporal that "she was stabbed by her father and that her father had stabbed her mother in the stomach," the report said. - (Newsroom) |

A Somali man the U.S. believes is the highest-ranking pirate it has ever captured pleaded in federal court Wednesday to piracy, kidnapping and weapons charges related to the February hijacking of a yacht that left four Americans dead. Mohammad Saaili Shibin, 50, is accused of acting as chief negotiator for more than a dozen pirates who took control of the yacht Quest in the Arabian Sea. Black Man threatened to rape central Florida Christian radio host A Christian radio host was praying live on the air when a man entered the studio, took off his clothes and threatened to rape her, Orange County authorities said. Listeners to the program became concerned and called 911 when they heard threats being made early Monday at the La Voix Evangelique D'Orlando 98.9 SCA radio station. Black Newark man admits killing student, wounding officer in Irvington shooting rampage Gary Farrar Jr. was born in Irvington and died there 22 years later, steps from his home, when a man on a violent rampage shot the Rutgers University student in the face. The gunman, Shaquan Johnson, also shot and injured an Irvington police sergeant and another man during the 45-minute shooting spree that morning, on April 20, 2008. Black Inmate charged in rapes from 1981 A convicted rapist serving 70 years in prison is now accused of two other sexual assaults in 1981, authorities said. On Friday, Jackson County prosecutors charged Richard C. Davis, 62, who is held at the prison near Potosi, Mo., with two counts each of rape and sodomy. Black home invader beats 89-year-old elderly White lady for $3 Detectives have released a sketch depicting a man who they believe attacked and robbed an elderly woman in her home. The attack occurred last Tuesday night at the apartment of 89-year-old Pearl Patrinos. Sheriff's Office detectives released the sketch Monday morning. "We're talking about a man in his late teens to early twenties, thin build, dark complexion," This man knocked on Patrinos' door then forced his way into her apartment. 88-year-old woman's arm broken in North Lauderdale purse snatching by black The victim is 88 and has one wish: never to return to South Florida. "I never want to see Fort Lauderdale again," said Dorothy Carley of Ridge, N.Y., four days after she was mugged. Carley and her friend Rose Bucalo, 83, of Holbrook, N.Y., were walking toward the Ramada Inn on State Road 7 in North Lauderdale around 8:30 p.m. Monday when a man attacked Carley from behind, knocking her to the ground and grabbing her purse. "He pulled my arm out and broke it," Carley said in a telephone interview Friday. The Broward Sheriff's Office released a sketch of Carley's attacker. The jurors were kept out of the courtroom while Geoffrey Ford, 20, dropped his fight and instead pleaded guilty to felony charges of rape, kidnapping and aggravated burglary. Investigation continues in San Diego Asian woman's murder in Texas by black male Authorities are continuing their investigation into the murder in Texas of a San Diego mother of three. Kimberly Maokhamphiou, a mother of three was visiting relatives in Haltom City. Authorities said she was shot as she cleaned out her SUV just prior to 9 a.m. in the complex's parking lot. According to witnesses, the victim was approached by a black male about 5'7" and wearing a blue hooded jacket with a star on it. The man fired one single shot and fled the scene in a blue, mid-90s Crown Victoria that was said to have "bondo repair putty on the back right quarter panel." Sarah Coit was heard arguing with her beau, Raul Barrera, 33, about 2:15 a.m., shortly before she was viciously stabbed in her apartment, cops and neighbors said. "Her whole neck was cut all the way," said Briana Andalore, 20, who lives downstairs from the blood-stained apartment and saw the young woman get hauled away on a stretcher. Muziwokuthula Madonda, 33, is charged with the aggravated murder of 60-year-old Jacquelyn Hilder, a bank vice president who was shot twice during a robbery at her condominium on Hampton Ridge Drive in Akron in February. Cecil King is charged with murder in the death of Renie Bain, whose home he serviced. Bain's family members found her beaten to death in her home. Prosecutors said the evidence against King rapidly piled up in the days following Bain's death. Nathan Anderson, was convicted of murder, burglary, abuse of a corpse in the October 2007 slaying of Jane Pepper, 44, at her apartment. Anderson was taken into custody after a national DNA database matched him to evidence collected during the investigation of the killing. Investigators said Anderson confessed to killing Pepper. Judge overrules jury - black gets death for kidnap and murder of Auburn freshman girl A judge on Wednesday overrode the unanimous recommendation of jurors and sentenced a man to die for the slaying of an Auburn University freshman who was abducted at gunpoint, fatally shot and left to die on a rural road. Lee County Circuit Judge Jacob Walker imposed the sentence on Courtney Lockhart, 26, who was convicted of capital murder last year in the 2008 killing of Lauren Burk, 18, of Marietta, Ga. The jury voted 12-0 to recommend a sentence of life without parole for Lockhart, but the judge has the final say under Alabama law. Cordell Renard Green, 22, is charged with murder. Green was located Sunday night and arrested. Green is charged in connection to the death of Heather Dorris, 25. Green has a violent past, including charges of armed robbery. Black woman arrested for kidnap, murder and burning of body of 12-year-old White boy Police say a 44-year-old woman charged with capital murder in the kidnapping and death of a 12-year-old Houston boy admitted to discarding a body, but said she didn’t kill the child. Mona Yvette Nelson, a maintenance worker for several area apartment complexes, was arrested and charged on Wednesday. Investigators believe she kidnapped, killed and burned the body of Jonathan Foster on Christmas Eve. Foster had been left alone at his mother’s apartment while she and her roommate worked that day.
