DENVER -- A Spanish-language guide for immigrants has been yanked from a state Web site after criticism that the advice encouraged illegals to take advantage of government benefits. Gov. Bill Owens, who had previously endorsed the guide, said he wasn't aware that some information seemed targeted at illegal immigrants. The guide was removed after Republican Rep. The body of Oscar Sanchez, 30, was discovered a week ago in a remote area nine days after he was snatched from his car on a Dallas street.
Jose Alberto Felix, 28, was being held in a Dallas jail on $1 million bond. His alleged accomplice, Edgar Acevedo, 24, was still at large.
Police believe Acevedo, who used to work at one of the Sanchez family's three Mexican restaurants, escaped to Mexico.

CHICAGO -- Some residents of Chicago's largely Hispanic Pilsen section are upset over a new doll in the popular American Girl series because her storyline says the Mexican-American youngster and her family left the "dangerous" 'barrio' neighborhood for a better life in the (white) suburbs.
