The jury of five whites and one black sided with the city, which argued that the family of 18-year-old TyRon Lewis deserved no money because Lewis was threatening the officer's life when he was shot during a traffic stop. |

Action Black becomes millionaire at expense of Oregon Taxpayers - wins bias lawsuit Clackamas County will pay $1.5 million to settle a racial discrimination lawsuit filed by the county's first black deputy. Carl Bell successfully sued the county. He said he was fired from the sheriff's office in 1998 because he complained of racial profiling and discrimination. Bell testified that other deputies made insulting and stereotypical remarks about blacks and various immigrant groups. The county challenged the verdict, saying Bell performed poorly in a yearlong training program. But the damn FEDS intervened and dictated the politically correct windfall payout for the complainer. - (NNN Northwest) |

The sisters say the rhyme was directed at them. The modern version goes "Eenie, meenie, minie, moe; catch a tiger by the toe."
