Police: Woman says she starved children to death - Alabama mother charged with killing her 3 kids (CNN) -- A Huntsville, Alabama, woman charged with capital murder in the deaths of her three children told investigators she "deliberately starved her children to death," a police spokesman said Saturday. Nathshay Yvonne Ward, 33, is charged with killing Shanieka Y. Ward, 11; Latricia Ward, 9; and Christopher O. Ward, 8. "She told investigators that she deliberately starved her children to death. They did appear to be malnourished," Wendell Johnson of the Huntsville police said. Autopsies will determine how and when they died, he said. - (forum) |
Youngest Murder Suspect Found Guilty In One Killing CINCINNATI -- The youngest murder suspect ever tried in Hamilton County was found guilty of one murder. David Harris had been charged with shooting and robbing two men when he was 14 last year. He could face life in prison when he is scheduled for sentencing in a few weeks. Suspect Arrested In Shooting Caught On Tape - Victim Says He's Happy To Be Alive CINCINNATI -- Police announced the arrest of a suspect in the shooting of a store clerk Friday. Christopher Smith, 19, was arrested and charged with aggravated robbery, felonious assault, possession of weapons while under disability, possession of drugs, and several outstanding warrants, police said. Officials said the drama unfolded in front of store security cameras at the Liftas Market at Elberon and West Eigth streets as a man approached a clerk with a shotgun and pulled the trigger without warning. The victim, Zeyad Alnajar, was hospitalized after the robber shot him in the hand. Alnajar said that he is just happy to be alive. - (Gman) |
Los Angeles: Four Iranian Brothers Reject U.S. Release The Mirmehdi brothers -- Mohammed, Mostafa, Mohsen and Mojtaba -- have been in custody since October 2001. They were charged with lying on applications for political asylum after an earlier FBI investigation of a Los Angeles-based cell of Moujahedeen Khalq, or MEK, which opposes Iran's regime. An immigration appeals board has ruled that the brothers did not have ties to terrorism, but upheld their deportations. |

Police Warn Of HIV-Infected, Predatory Sex Offender
PORTLAND -- Police want women to know about a predatory sex offender recently released from prison. Kenneth Miller is living at in transitional housing in downtown Portland. The 35-year-old has a history of unprotected sex with women and girls, intentionally exposing them to HIV. His youngest victim is 15, and one woman has tested HIV-positive. "His parole conditions prohibit him from having unprotected sex with anyone who is not HIV infected," He is also prohibited from contact with minors and from entering bars or taverns. FBI Arrests Teen On Vegas Rape, Kidnapping Charges Los Angeles - A 19-year-old teenager was arrested Friday in connection with kidnapping, rape and assault with a deadly weapon charges in Las Vegas, according to the FBI. Authorities arrested Urlin Lloyd Clark, who was hiding in a bedroom closet in Alhambra. He was taken to the Los Angeles Police Department's headquarters, and he is expected to be extradited to Las Vegas |
New Orleans Negro Sought In Armed Robbery Of 82-Year-Old Woman New Orleans police have issued an arrest warrant for a man wanted in connection with the armed robbery of an 82-year-old woman. According to investigators, Lawrence Barra, 57, arrived at the woman's St. Philip Street home Thursday at 9:15 a.m. to install new flooring. Police said Barra saw some money on a table, produced a handgun and demanded that the woman give him the cash. She complied. |

videotape "They wanted to go in and try to catch them [girls] in various stages of undress," Nassau Detective Sgt. John King said. Jones told cops the pair planned to stage an event called Freak Fest and show the tape to their friends. Police arrest Asian woman in "love triangle' stabbing death of school nurse Police have arrested Jing Weidow in the slaying of Mary Anderson, 61, a school nurse found murdered in her home. Investigators said it looked like the homicide was the result of a love triangleand that Weidow tried to make it look like a robbery had taken place because there had been several burglaries in the neighborhood. Weidow had been a student of (adulterer) John Anderson at the University of Delaware. She is married and the two couples would go out socially. Mary Anderson didn't know of the affair until Tuesday evening, when Weidow confronted her and stabbed her in the neck and face with a kitchen knife. - (The Bobster) |
