Africa: Namibian Attempted rape suspect saved by diplomatic immunity All charges have been dropped against a 20-year old man who allegedly tried to rape a Pretoria advocate in her townhouse in Arcadia. Zondi Ashipembe is the grandson of the third secretary at the Namibian High Commission, and therefore enjoys full diplomatic immunity. Baltimore man has pleaded guilty in the revenge slaying of a city police detective.
Twenty-four-year-old Raymond Saunders will serve a sentence of life without

convicted of killing husband at U.S. base in Turkey A woman who killed her husband with a steak knife at a U.S. Air Force base in Turkey was convicted Friday of voluntary manslaughter. Latasha Lorraine Arnt, who testified that she fatally stabbed Air Force Staff Sgt. Convicted in Snowball Fight Drive-by shooting that critically wounded 10-yr-old
black girl PHILADELPHIA
-- A man charged with shooting at a group of children following a snowball fight
was convicted of attempted murder and other offenses. Joseph Best, 34,
fired the shots into a crowd in West Philadelphia because he was angry that his
daughter had been struck in the head by a snowball. Ten-year-old Ebony
Smith was wounded in the shooting and spent two months in the hospital.

-- Police and Fulton County prosecutors announced a $10,000 reward is being offered
for a man who sexually assaulted a 13-year-old
girl recently and also considered a prime suspect in the rape and murder
nine years ago of another Atlanta girl. Authorities have linked the man through
his DNA to the rape and fatal shooting of Nicole
Smith, 14, on a dirt path in Atlanta nine years ago. Nicole, an eighth-grader,
was on her way to middle school in southwest Atlanta on June 7, 1995, using a
dirt path behind her apartment as a short cut, when she was sexually assaulted
and fatally shot in the head. Authorities said they suspect the man might have
been in jail, which could account for the nine-year lag between reported crimes.

walked up to the dummy and ripped it down. Uhuru supporters followed, dismantling
the gallows and tearing apart the dummy's head and limbs and leaving the newspaper
stuffing strewn across the yard. As the Uhuru members left the property, St. Petersburg
police Sgt. Glenn Stofer approached them and took their names, but did
