Al Khattab Killed Black Officer Before Being Shot By Police A
Butler University police officer was fatally shot outside the campus fieldhouse
Friday morning, and a suspect in the slaying died after being shot by officers
later in the day. Butler Officer James Davis,
31, was shot in the parking lot of Hinkle Fieldhouse. Later, police shot Kahdir
Al Khattab a few blocks from campus. Al Khattab, 26, who police say matched
the denoscription of the man who shot Davis, was taken to a local hospital and died

Carjackings Suspect Nabbed in Mo. A
man who police said carjacked four vehicles in the San Francisco Bay area -- sexually
assaulting two of the victims -- was arrested in Missouri. Derrick Austin Hill,
22, was arrested without incident as he and a friend drove toward St. Louis. Hill
was jailed in Missouri and officials sought to extradite him to California. Hill
faced charges including kidnapping, sexual assault and robbery-carjacking. - (Hellcat,

Francisco Police issued an arrest warrant for Rafael Antonio Cuevas in stabbing
death of white  An
arrest warrant has been issued for the stabbing death of Timothy
Griffith after a baseball game on Sept. 17. Rafael Antonio Cuevas,
22, of San Francisco, is suspected of killing Griffith, 21, of Redwood City, who
was stabbed in the heart after brushing up against the suspect's car as he walked

police are asking for help in tracking down a rape suspect. Police say the suspect
brutally attacked and raped a woman in Over-The-Rhine. The woman was found naked
and with severe injuries on Reading Road Monday. |

Third Former La Salle Player Charged With Rape - a migrant from England Philadelphia
police say a third former La Salle University basketball player is now charged
with rape. Police say 22-year-old Dzaflo Larkai is now facing charges for
an allegation that he attacked a woman in April of last year. Larkai's accuser
played on La Salle's women's team. She's a friend of the University of New Haven
women's team member who's accusing two other La Salle players of sexually assualting

Black Accused Of Sexually Assaulting 75-Year-Old Woman SAN
ANTONIO -- A district judge denied a request to suppress DNA evidence in a rape
trial. Lawyers for Melvin Lewis argued that police used an invalid search
warrant when they obtained a DNA sample from the defendant, who is accused of
sexually assaulting a 75-year-old woman. . But the judge disagreed with defense
lawyers and ruled that the DNA sample, the heart of the prosecution's case, will
be allowed to be used as evidence in the trial. |

Black charged with rape-murder of 81-yr-old woman
CINCINNATI -- A man charged with murdering two women in other states has been
charged with killing an 81-year-old woman in her Covedale apartment. Cincinnati
Police today filed an arrest warrant for Willie James Hodges, 44, for the
rape and murder of LaVern Jansen. Hodges is in jail awaiting trial
for the murder and rape of a 58-year-old woman
and he's also been charged with the murder and

Lifts State Police Minorities Order LITTLE ROCK, Ark. -- A federal judge has lifted an order that required the Arkansas State Police to maintain a certain percentage of black and female troopers. Under the consent decree, the state police did not admit wrongdoing but agreed to implement fair hiring and promotion policies, and maintain a force that is more than 15 percent black and about 46 percent female. |

JOSE – A day laborer was legally sane when he kidnapped and raped a 9-year-old
girl who was held captive for days before he let her go, a jury decided Tuesday.
The same jury convicted David Montiel Cruz last week on all 10 felony charges
