Minister
to stand trial in incest molest case A Dinuba minister must stand trial on 12 felony counts of child molestation involving two of his daughters. A judge has ordered Ambrocio "Andy" Martinez Sabala, 72, to stand trial on alleged offenses that date back to the 1960s and '70s. Sabala has denied the charges against him. If found guilty, Sabala could face 30 years in prison. Sabala is being tried under a law that exempts child-molestation cases from a statute of limitations if the victim comes forward as an adult and charges are filed within a year. Sabala was arrested in May and is being held on $500,000 bail. - (temp reader link - content may change) |
Jaramillo
sentenced in murder of his incestuous father-grandfather A Tulare man is facing 17 years to life in prison for killing a man who was both his father and grandfather. Joaquin Jaramillo, 25, was sentenced Thursday in Tulare County Court. In March 2001, Jaramillo choked 65-year-old Frank Jaramillo and then slit the man's throat. Prosecutors said the older Jaramillo had molested and raped his daughter, which led to the birth of their son, Joaquin. Joaquin Jaramillo was found guilty of second degree murder in April. His attorney had argued that Jaramillo's state of mind was impaired the day he killed Frank Jaramillo because the older man provoked him by asking him to "Call me 'Dad.'" Pleads No Contest To Impregnating Daughter Authorities said Cerros was suspected of impregnating his daughter
a year ago, but the girl denied that he was the father of her 5-month-old
daughter at the time. After her second child was born in March, the

with him for the past four years. The girl and her 10 siblings were
removed from their home as a result of a child neglect investigation,

the girl a second time. Cerros, who was arrested May 24, also will have

San Mateo Spanic charged with abusing 7 and 8-yr-old girls Truck used to lure youngsters off street - Marino Antonio Hernandez, 43, of San Mateo was charged Wednesday with multiple counts of child molestation, false imprisonment and kidnapping. In the first case, a man approached a 7-year-old Redwood City girl who was walking to her Hawes Elementary School shortly after 7:30 a.m. The girl told police that the man asked her in Spanish to help him fix his car, but she refused and walked away. A short time later, and just a few blocks away, a 10-year-old boy and his 8-year-old sister were approached by a man who asked for similar help with his truck. When the children agreed to assist, the man placed the boy in front of the truck with the hood raised. He brought the girl inside the truck, where he put his hand in her pants. The girl jumped down and the children walked away. In last Friday's incident, an 8-year-old San Mateo girl who was on her way to school climbed into a pickup truck with a Spanish-speaking man who offered her an unidentified "enticement," police said. |
