Seventeen year-old Lorenzo Keon Shine, a Twiggs football standout, was arrested on rape charges Friday morning after a female student alleged that she was sexually assaulted by Shine on campus after regular school hours. - (forum) |
Sports: Nigerian-born former world athletics champion jailed in Finland for rape After nearly 14 months of incarceration in a British jail, former world athletics champion Billy Konchellah’s tribulations took a dramatic turn when he was jailed for rape by a Finnish court. Konchellah, 42, is now serving a two-and-a-half year sentence, which he was handed two weeks ago. He is at Oulu prison in Finland, and is waiting for the appeal of his case. The former gold medalist was jailed on February 18, barely two weeks after he was dramatically extradited from Coventry, England, where he was facing the possibility of a life sentence for another rape charge. |

He is an Oakland resident and is probably still in the Bay Area. Sports: former Hawkeye Basketballer Pierre Pierce Enters "Not Guilty" Plea Pierre Pierce is pleading not guilty in the criminal case against him. The former Hawkeye standout faces burglary and assault charges stemming from an incident with an ex-girlfriend in her West Des Moines townhome last month. Monday, Pierce refused to waive his right to a speedy trial, which means it must begin by mid-May. Sports: Former USC football player sought in connection with Weds. credit union robbery Authorities in Richland County are searching for a former University of South Carolina football player accused of committing an armed robbery Wednesday morning and holding a teller against her will at a Two Notch Road branch of the South Carolina Credit Union . The Richland County Sheriff's Department is searching for Marco Terrell Hutchinson, 24, on charges of armed robbery and kidnapping in the robbery after witnesses picked him out of a photo lineup. - (Tyrone N. Sports: Footballer indicted on new rape charge Former University of Tennessee footballer Mondre Dickerson has been indicted on a rape charge. Dickerson was kicked off the Vols football team in 2003 after a rape allegation was made. It was later dropped. The indictment returned concerns another case and alleges the 22-year-old, 290-pound athlete attacked a woman in her apartment on June 19th. A warrant wasn't issued until November 18th. Dickerson was arrested 10 days later. He was freed the next day on a $25,000 bond and ordered to stay away from the 30-year-old woman. - (more sports) |
South Africa Sports: Footballer Benedict Vilakazi charged with raping a 15-year old girl Prosecutors allege that Benedict Vilakazi , who is married with two children, went to the girl's home on 27 January and asked to use the bathroom. Once inside, he allegedly called the girl to the bathroom and raped her. The rape charge come only a few months after Pirates renewed a pledge denouncing violence against women and children, saying it was "like waging a war on ourselves as a nation". Vilakazi is the second Bafana-Bafana player in just over a week to have a brush with the law. Last weekend Steven Pienaar spent the night in a Dutch jail, after his girlfriend laid a charge of assault against him. |

Coach Facing Child Sex Charges The head football coach at McNair Senior High School was expected to make his first court appearance after he was arrested amid allegations that he had improper relations with two students at the school. Johnny Gilbert is facing several charges, including two counts of enticing a minor and two counts of sex with a child in their custody. He was taken to the DeKalb jail. Sports: Brigham Young footballer Antwaun Harris pleaded no contest to reduced charges in gang-rape Antwaun Harris, 19, entered the plea Thursday to a misdemeanor charge of making false statements to a police officer. He originally was charged with second-degree felony making false material statements. He was accused of falsely denying there was pornography in the apartment of two players Aug. 8, the night a 17-year-old girl says she was raped there by several players. |
Basketballer Indicted In Campus Rape A basketball player was indicted on charges of raping and kidnapping a fellow student in a campus building at Cincinnati State Technical and Community College. Floyd Davis Jr., 19, was indicted on three counts of rape and one count of kidnapping. He faces 10 years in prison on each count. The woman said a man approached her and offered to show her around the new building. While they toured the facility, she claimed he forced her into a classroom and allegedly raped her. - (Brewski) |

Sports: Ex-footballer Duerson - Notre Dame Board of Trustees member resigns after being charged with battery Dave Duerson, who played football for the (black) Irish, was a member of the Chicago Bears and a Notre Dame Board of Trustees member, has been charged with striking his wife while visiting South Bend last week. St. Joseph County prosecutor Mike Dvorak filed battery charges against Dave Duerson. Duerson and his wife got into an argument in their room and Duerson hit his wife in their room at the Morris Inn just last Thursday. UK Sports: African Footballer Tried to Rape Me, Waitress Tells Court A teenage waitress told a jury today how a professional footballer tried to rape her after dragging her into a hotel bathroom. The girl described how Bristol Rovers striker Junior Agogo pulled her into his room while he was staying with his team-mates at a hotel in Doncaster, South Yorkshire. She said she was walking past Room 101 of the hotel, where 25-year-old Agogo was staying, when she saw him standing in the doorway dressed only in a pair of shorts. The teenager, who is now 17 but was 16 and still at school at the time of the incident, said: “He shouted my name. He grabbed my hand and pulled me in.” - Ref: Agogo from Ghana |

Sports: Two former La Salle basketball players are scheduled for rape trial Two former La Salle University basketball players have been scheduled to stand trial in July on charges they raped a female basketball player. Gary Neal, 20, of Baltimore, and Michael Cleaves, 22, of Paterson, N.J., are charged with rape, sexual assault, conspiracy and related crimes in the alleged assault on the 19-year-old woman in a campus dormitory. Sports: Cincinnati State Basketballer Rape Suspect Arrested Overnight Floyd Davis Jr., 19, was taken into custody overnight and arraigned in court Tuesday morning. Davis was on the basketball team until a week ago, and as of January 21, he was no longer a student at the school. LOUIS (AP) -- Calling the sexual attack "the most heinous I have seen," a 12-year judge Friday sentenced a former St. Louis collegiate football player Bobby Collins Jr. to more than five centuries behind bars in a 2002 home invasion and rape. "Heinous crimes deserve harsh punishment," said Judge Margaret Neill. Collins broke into the home of a St. Louis woman between 4 and 5 a.m. then held her at gunpoint and threatened to kill her. Sports: NFL star Jamal Lewis only gets four months in drug case ATLANTA - Ravens star Jamal Lewis hobbled into federal court on crutches Wednesday, apologized for a drug-related crime and received a mild, four-month prison term from a sympathetic judge Orinda Evans who said the case against him was weak. Lewis, 25, the NFL Offensive Player of the Year in 2003, was indicted last February and charged with helping arrange a cocaine deal in 2000 for the co-defendant, Angelo Jackson, a hometown Atlanta friend. UK Sports: Footballer denies attempted rape of 16-year-old Yorkshire girl Bristol Rovers striker Junior Agogo has pleaded not guilty to the attempted rape of a teenage girl in South Yorkshire. Agogo, 25, is accused of attempting to rape the 16-year-old in Doncaster last May. Under his full name of Manuel Junior Agogo, the defendant appeared at Sheffield Crown Court on Monday. South Africa: Soccer boss's rape trial postponed City soccer boss and businessman Brian Ebden, who faces 20 charges of rape and several of indecent assault and assault, has until March to prepare his defence against the allegations. Ebden, 44, owner of Mother City soccer club and an advertising company, appeared before magistrate Alta le Roux in the Cape Town magistrate's court on Friday. At an appearance in the Cape High Court in November, relating to his company's application to secure his and his wife's assets, Ebden said he and his alleged victim were in the process of reconciling. |
