This all unfolded Sunday morning at the Pacific Court Apartment complex in Tukwila. Both police and the victim described the man as "out of control." "He started choking me," said a woman named Kelly. We won't show Kelly's face or reveal her full name, but her story of survival empowers her, and that part she is willing to share. "I think he would have raped me and then would have killed me," she said. "He smashed this big long mirror," she said. "He had that piece and threatened to cut me with that." It was her neighbor, a man she's known for four years and has always known as Monty. Police identified him as 28-year-old Ifeanyi Chiegbu. Kelly barley managed to reach for the the phone to call 911, but said Chiegbu bit the phone's cord in half before she could make the call. "He goes, 'I'm going to (expletive) you and hurt you now.'" Police heard her screams and found Chiegbu naked, and on top of her. As they pulled him off, court filings say the man's wife showed up and started fighting with officers, allowing the suspect time to jump off Kelly's second floor balcony. - (Black-on-white)

2 (blacks) arraigned in 2010 Taunton murder (of White man)
Jeremy Rhodes and/or Donnelle BatesJoseph DuganTwo Taunton men faced a judge Tuesday charged with murder in connection to a 2010 cold case in the city. Not guilty pleas were entered on behalf of Jeremy Rhodes, 25, and Donnelle Bates, 26. The men are accused of shooting and killing Joseph Dugan, 33, outside his friend’s apartment on Granite Street. In court prosecutors said state and local police were able to make the arrests after Bates’ uncle implicated him in the murder. Bristol County District Attorney Thomas Quinn, who personally handled the arraignments, says there are text messages and eye witness testimony that also link the men to the case. The D.A. also spoke of a possible motive for the murder saying it could have been retaliation for the stabbing death of Taunton teen Tigan Hollinsworth a few weeks earlier. He added the shooting appears to be a case of mistaken identity because the victim, Dugan, had no known connection to the Hollinsworth murder. "There does not appear to be a connection between the victim and these two defendants, but things have to play out in court with respect to those issues,” Quinn told reporters outside court. Captain John Rearden was an officer on scene the night of July 7th. He never gave up trying to find answers for Dugan’s loved ones. “They gave me a picture of Joey and every day I saw that picture of Joey and this is emotional for me. I'm so happy,” he said. Several other people have charged in the case for misleading police. Bates and Rhoden were both held without bail during their arraignments and are due back in court in January. - (Black-on-white)

(Black man) Reynolds guilty of (White) man’s murder at group home
Lecorius J. 'Corey' ReynoldsRoy H. RobertsRejecting the claim that Lecorius Reynolds did not know his actions’ wrongfulness, a Lucas County judge found the Toledo man guilty of murder in the 2014 death of a fellow resident of a South Toledo group home. Reynolds, 35, of the 100 block of Dale Street, faces life in prison with parole eligibility after 15 years when he is sentenced Jan. 20 by Common Pleas Judge Myron Duhart. Earlier this month, Judge Duhart presided over a bench trial in which Reynolds was charged with alternate counts of murder for stabbing and beating to death Roy Roberts, 51. While Reynolds had pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity and, as an alternative, contended he was acting in self-defense when he assaulted Mr. Roberts, Judge Duhart rejected both claims. The insanity plea required a finding that Reynolds suffered from a mental disease or defect so severe he did not know that what he was doing was wrong. The self-defense claim required him to show he was in danger of great bodily harm or death when he assaulted Mr. Roberts. “Mr. Reynolds, you cannot escape responsibility for what you know is wrong,” the judge said. About 9 p.m. May 2, 2014, police responded to a report of a nude body struck by a train on Norfolk Southern tracks at Airline Avenue and Gibbons Street, thinking it could have been a suicide. But officers immediately noticed very little blood at the scene, prompting them to surmise that the victim had been killed somewhere else. As it turned out, blood and DNA evidence revealed Reynolds had attacked Mr. Roberts at the Dale Street group home where they both lived, placed his body in a Toledo recycling bin and wheeled it to the tracks a couple blocks away, and dumped it. In a video-recorded police interrogation shown during the trial, Reynolds at first denied any involvement with Mr. Roberts' death, but then said he had beaten Mr. Roberts after the victim made sexual advances toward him. Judge Duhart said he carefully weighed the testimony of two mental health experts who testified at Reynolds’ trial: one said Reynolds lacked a rational motive, and the other who said he had engaged in “goal-oriented behavior.” “That means Mr. Reynolds was acting in such a way at the time of the assault that he was avoiding or attempting to avoid detection of a crime,” the judge said. “This court is going to note a number of things … washing a knife, moving a body, operating in such a way as to conceal blood on a bed, bloody clothes.” Last year, Reynolds was found incompetent to stand trial, but he was later deemed restored to competency after a lengthy hospitalization at Twin Valley Behavioral Healthcare in Columbus. - (Black-on-white)

Investigators say Lester was shot Friday morning by Andrew Coffee. The incident happened during a traffic stop. Investigators say Coffee was pulled over because he had no tag on his scooter. Sheriff Deryl Loar says coffee tried to kill the 26 year old deputy after he pulled Coffee over. The deputy was shot in the leg. "As he knocked the deputy down and sucker punched, he continued to stand over him and attempted to end his life," Loar said. Coffee is no stranger to the law. He was released from prison last May for an attempted murder conviction from back in 1993. "It reminds us of the dangers that are faced everyday in law enforcement. It is a war on the streets and I'm sick of it," Loar said. It's unclear how Coffee, a convicted felon, was able to obtain the gun. Coffee remains hospitalized with wounds to the torso and leg. - (Black-on-white)

Life sentence upheld in 2012 double homicide at Wichita Dollar General
Marquis J. MarshallZachary "Zach" HuntHenry “Hank” HarveyThe Kansas Supreme Court on Friday upheld the capital murder conviction of a Wichita man who shot and killed an employee of a Dollar General Store and a grandfather shopping inside in 2012. Marquis J. Marshall, in his appeal, claimed he didn’t get a fair trial when he was tried for the Nov. 30 slayings of Zachary Hunt and Henry Harvey because Sedgwick County District Court officials didn’t order him to undergo a competency evaluation or look more deeply into his requests for a new lawyer. He also claimed a judge misspoke when he read instructions for deliberations to his jury. But justices, in a unanimous decision, rejected those arguments, saying they found no evidence to support Marshall’s claims.
Marshall walked into the Dollar General at 13th and Oliver in Wichita shortly after 8 p.m. the night of the shootings with a 22-caliber gun in hand. He shot Hunt, who was ringing up Harvey’s purchases, three times and then fired three more rounds into Harvey’s back. Harvey had gone to Dollar General to purchase candy for his grandchildren. - (Black-on-white)

(Black) Man charged in killings of (adulterous white) girlfriend, and a Baltimore woman that let him in
Terrence L. JenkinsShelly FillionHarry Fillion, Shelly's ex-husbandBALTIMORE —A man charged with murdering his girlfriend in Essex was also charged in a second killing in Baltimore City, police said. Baltimore County police said Terrence L. Jenkins, 49, is charged with first-degree murder in the death of Shelly Fillion, who was found Monday at her house on Skipjack Court in Essex. Police said Fillion had suffered traumatic injuries. Police on Monday did not specify a motive, but quickly identified a suspect in the case. A break in the case came Thursday when police received a tip that someone saw Jenkins making a phone call from a house in the 3600 block of Pulaski Highway in east Baltimore. County police set up surveillance across the street at a motel, and while doing so, officers watched Jenkins walk up to a house, where a woman let him in. "We did not know what his connection was to that house, if anything. We suspected that perhaps someone was harboring him there," Baltimore County police spokeswoman Elise Armacost said. Police waited for Jenkins to exit, and when he did, they gave chase. Inside the house, police found the woman who let Jenkins inside dead. City police announced Friday evening that Jenkins was charged with murder. City police said county police found the victim after they obtained a search and seizure warrant for the location. Evidence at the scene included obvious signs of trauma, leading investigators to believe the case is a homicide, police said. - (Black-on-white)

Spokane detectives investigating murder-suicide - another black murders his (white) wife - married just 2 months
Paul A. Kingstro and his dead white wifePaul A. Kingstro and his dead white wifeSPOKANE, Wash. - The Spokane Medical Examiner confirmed the identity of the woman on Wednesday afternoon. Jennifer A. Miller Kingstro, 48, died from multiple gunshot wounds to the head. Her death is listed as a homicide. The other body found was that of Paul A. Kingstro, 45. His death listed as suicide by "perforating gunshot wound to the head." The marks that police officers left behind as they used a battering ram to force their way through the locked front door are visible. Once inside, another chilling discovery. “We did locate two deceased individuals inside,” said Capt. Olsen. “At that point we backed out, we've secured the scene. Our Major Crimes investigators have responded.” Detectives found a gun laying next to one of the victims. That and the fact the home was locked and showed no signs of forced entry, told police that this was likely a murder-suicide. Taylor Olson, describing his now-deceased neighbor said Jennifer lived next door for many years, but as of late had a new man in her life. “This guy, I don't know his name,” said Olson. all of a sudden he was just there.” Paul recently posted on his Facebook page: “There is nothing more I'd rather do in my life than love my wife and family and serve God.” - (Black-on-white)

(White) St. Paul mom's slaying was first of violent spree - charges against 3 blacks and a girlfriend
Albert George McIntosh, Alvin Rudolph Bell Jr, Isiah Lee Harper and Michelle Lee KoesterSarah Anne WierstadA night of terror began in St. Paul and ended in Minneapolis on a Sunday in October, with suspects confronting nine people at gunpoint, killing two of them, the Hennepin County attorney announced Tuesday after weeks of investigation. The attacks appeared random. The first to die was Sarah Anne Wierstad, a 24-year-old mother returning to her St. Paul residence. She apparently interrupted a burglary, and one of the suspects is accused of shooting her outside her home. Julie Zietlow felt sick when she heard that the four people who were charged in October in her daughter's death are now accused in a Minneapolis crime spree in the three hours after Wierstad lost her life. "I don't want them ever to be released again," Zietlow said Tuesday. Mike Freeman, who called the case "one of the most violent rampages I have seen in my nearly 18 years as county attorney," said he's looking for the same for the four people. He said his office is working closely with the Ramsey County attorney's office "to make sure that, if convicted, they spend the rest of their lives in prison."
The Ramsey County attorney's office quickly filed charges, saying Albert George McIntosh, 31, of Minneapolis was the man who had shot Wierstad. They charged him with murder. Prosecutors charged Alvin Rudolph Bell Jr., 25, of St. Louis Park, with aiding and abetting murder and Isiah Lee Harper, 26, of Minneapolis, with aggravated robbery and burglary. Michelle Lee Koester, 42, of Minneapolis was accused of misleading and obstructing investigators. - (Black-on-white)

(White) Boy escapes (black) would-be kidnapper in Liberty County, suspect on the run
Luke Gordonblack rapistLIBERTY COUNTY, Texas - People in Liberty County are concerned after a man tried to kidnap a 7-year-old boy near his home Tuesday. Investigators think the same man may have raped a woman and tried to kidnap another. The incidents happened in Dayton along County road 48-82 and FM 1413. Heather Gordon has three children and like most, the thought of losing one of them is indescribable. "At night I hold him tight because he could've been gone," she said. Investigators said 7-year-old Luke was walking down the road to a friend's house when a red truck pulled up. "The guy told Luke 'Well come on, I'll take you for a joy ride,'" Gordon said. Detectives said the man grabbed the boy's shoulder and tried to pull him into the truck and his mother saw it happen. "I fell to my knees. I was shaking so bad," Gordon said. "I was running down there crying, hollering his name, he wasn't answering." Thankfully, Luke broke free and ran immediately to a neighbor's home. The denoscription of the suspect and his red pick up is vague but investigators believe the man driving the car is also responsible for the rape of a 30-year-old woman somewhere along FM 1413, just west of Dayton. Investigators said a man driving a similar pick up has twice tried to lure a woman into his truck while she was jogging near her home in Liberty. "The similarities between the black male driving the red truck is so close and similar, it's possible these three are tied together," said Captain Ken DeFoor of the Liberty County Sheriff's Office. - (Black-on-white)
