Unarmed White woman chases down, captures pudgy black 'alleged' thief A dramatic photo captured the moment on Friday when a Brooklyn mugging victim became a crime fighter — as she busted the punk who allegedly snatched her cellphone and held him in a bear hug for the cops. Clara Vondrich, 36, was taking a business phone call while standing in front of a Williamsburg coffee shop on South Third Street at 1:20 p.m. when the teen approached her with two pals. The 13-year-old, whose name is being withheld by The Post because he is a minor, allegedly pushed her from behind, nearly knocking her to the ground. He ripped the phone from her hand and fled, said Vondrich and police sources. “I was all disoriented,” Vondrich told The Post. “My headphones almost came off. “I looked up and I saw him running with my phone.” Wearing a pair of thick wedges and a sundress, Vondrich chased after him. Hot on the kid’s heels, she pleaded with him to give the cellphone back. “I was screaming the whole time, ‘Get that kid!’ ” Vondrich recalled. “I finally said, ‘Yo, I’ll give you $200 for that. Just stop.’ ” Vondrich said the teen appeared to be out of shape and handed off the phone to his more nimble pal, who ran off. But she kept after the slow boy, who was huffing and puffing down Wythe Avenue during the five-block chase. The Wonder Woman grabbed hold of the teen at South Sixth Street and Wythe Avenue, wrapping her arms around his chest and pinning him against a car. “He was so pudgy and was slowing down, so that’s why I caught up to him,” Vondrich said, adding she felt sorry for the kid. - (Black-on-white) |

Court: Families can sue county after black morgue worker had sex with corpses CINCINNATI —A federal appeals court has ruled a lawsuit can go forward against officials in Hamilton County, where a morgue attendant sexually abused three female corpses. The 6th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals panel on Friday said a jury might conclude the Hamilton County defendants, including the former coroner and morgue director, failed "recklessly and wantonly" to supervise the morgue attendant. He's serving a pair of 3-year sentences. During his trial, Douglas testified that he was drunk and high on cocaine when he had intercourse with the bodies of Karen Sue Range, 19, who was stabbed to death in 1982; Charlene Appling, 23, a pregnant single mother who was strangled in 1991; and Angel Hicks, 24, a mother of a 1- and a 3-year-old. Nearly 30-Year-Old Rape Case Solved FORT LAUDERDALE – Last fall detectives in the Broward Sheriff’s Office Special Victim’s Unit received a phone call from a woman looking for some peace of mind. The woman said that in 1985 she was kidnapped and raped repeatedly by two men. Her attackers were never caught and the woman wondered if advances in technology might lead investigators to an arrest. The woman had another reason for the call. Her daughter had recently turned 16 — the same age the victim was when the attack happened — and it had raised many emotions in her. Detective Michele McCardle went to work. She pieced together the evidence in the case and even found the victim’s rape kit and sent it to BSO’s Crime Lab for testing. McCardle said technicians received a match to a man named Dobie Hunter, a registered sexual offender. |

It started out as a peaceful birthday gathering in the Field House at Chase Park. However, after it ended around 10 p.m. Monday night, the sweet sixteen party quickly soured and the party goers turned into a frightening group of vandals as they stormed down Leland. Video of the incident was captured by a resident on Leland. It shows some of the teens walking down the middle of the street, but it's what the video did not capture that has residents in the neighborhood angry. “I looked outside and just like a storm of kids were running down and started running up on cars and banging windows,” said vandalism victim Magen Rooney. Rooney's car was one of many that were damaged. The hood was crumpled in and the roof also stomped on. “I figured they came, ran, jumped, because you see there's footprints all the way back,” Rooney added. Another victim said the hood of her new car was smashed in. “It seemed like someone had seated himself full body into the car like a massive imprint,” Amy Robinson said. When the teens left they caused mayhem as they headed down Leland reportedly videotaping one another busting windows and damaging cars. The vandals even reportedly banged on one moving vehicle and grabbed the driver after opening the door. - (Black-on-white) |

Black violence erupts again in black town where a black teen was shot in a struggle with a gun in a police car Violence again erupted in the St. Louis area near the site of the police shooting death of a black teenager, according to local police, despite calls by U.S. President Barack Obama and activists for a measured response. Early on Wednesday, a police officer shot and critically wounded a man who drew a handgun near the site of protests over the death of 18-year-old Michael Brown, a St. Louis County Police Department officer said. Police responded about an hour after midnight to reports of four or five men with shotguns and wearing ski masks. They encountered multiple suspects running, one of whom pulled a gun on an officer, who fired at him, the county officer said. The man was taken to an area hospital. Shortly after midnight, police fired tear gas into protesters who had confronted a line of officers after a far larger crowd dispersed, St. Louis County Police Department spokesman Brian Schellman said. The incidents followed two nights of violent protests, looting and arrests in Ferguson, the largely black St. Louis suburb where the shooting of Brown took place. Also on Wednesday, a woman was shot in the head in a drive-by shooting blocks from the area where Brown was killed. Ferguson has seen a stark demographic shift in recent decades, going from all white to mostly black. |

Ngor Makuey, who has been arrested for the murder of the 97 year-old man and the attempted murder of his 94 year old wife, is an immigrant allowed into this country because of his family’s flight from violence. He used this kindness as an opportunity to bring slaughter to once-peaceful towns. |
