But the man wasn't unconscious. He began to fight Walker again, and according to the report, she grabbed a hammer and hit the man several times on the head and on his body with it. She then ran, grabbed her child, and went into a bedroom, where she grabbed a shotgun and pointed it at the men. "He said, 'This is my new house. I'm here to stay.' I said, 'Not at this residence.' I put the gun to his face and the gun clicked and he ran," she said. Walker told deputies that she tried to shoot the intruders, but there was no shell in the chamber of the gun. She reported that the man ran away through the woods, leaving a trail of blood behind him. - (Black-on-white) |

WUSA9 Crew vehicle burglarized in DC while researching new smartphone app to avoid dangerous (black) neighborhoods WASHINGTON -- Typically our crews are reporting on these sorts of incidents, but on Friday our own WUSA9 crew's vehicle was burglarized. Ironically, the burglary occurred while the crew was working on a story about an app that alerts people of "sketchy" neighborhoods. The crew had locked their news van on a street in Petworth in Northwest, D.C. while they were out in the neighborhood conducting interviews. When they returned they found the lock had been popped out of the door of their news van, and that the most of the crew's gear had been stolen. Among the many stolen articles was the gear of photojournalist James Hash, the backpack of reporter Mola Lenghi, and the purse of intern Taylor Bisciotti. Bisciotti's cell phone was in her purse, and that ended up being a lucky break for the crew. Using the "Find my iPhone' application the crew was able to track the phone. After filing a police report the crew tracked the phone to dumpsters in another D.C. neighborhood. |

Flowers was convicted and sentenced to death in 1997, 1999 and 2004, but the state Supreme Court overturned each of those convictions – the first two because of prosecutorial misconduct and the third because of racial discrimination during jury selection. Two more trials, in 2007 and 2008, ended in hung juries split along racial lines. In 2010, Flowers was again convicted and sentenced to death. Killed were store owner Bertha Tardy, 59; bookkeeper Carmen Rigby, 45; delivery worker Robert Golden, 42; and 16-year-old Derrick Stewart, a part-time employee. All the victims except Golden were white. Each had been shot in the head at close range. - (Black-on-white) |

So, the 29-year-old Immokalee man reportedly called up 911 to complain about the officer's delay (yes, we're being serious). |

Retrial of black in (White) Myrtle Beach officer's death set for September |
McDonald’s ordered to pay $27M in deaths of teens - following pack attack by black mob BRYAN — A Central Texas jury on Wednesday ordered McDonald’s to pay $27 million in actual damages to the families of two teenagers killed in a car accident while en route to a hospital after a fight outside the fast-food restaurant. In a statement, McDonald’s said it will appeal the verdict. A release from the attorney representing the families of 18-year-old Denton James Ward of Flower Mound and 19-year-old Lauren Bailey Crisp of Dripping Springs said McDonald’s lax security led to their deaths in 2012 in College Station. The two were with another couple when they stopped at the restaurant. The young men were beaten by a mob in the parking lot. Their girlfriends tried to get them to a hospital but the driver ran a red light and was hit by a pickup, killing Crisp. The release says evidence at the trial showed police were called more than 20 times to break up fights at the restaurant in the year leading up to the incident. The families believed McDonald’s should have provided better security at the restaurant. Witnesses testified that Ward died in the parking lot after being kicked and stomped on by as many as 20 attackers, according to the release. McDonald’s maintained that Ward died in the car wreck that followed, and that the company wasn’t responsible for the teens’ safety. One of the attackers was sentenced to 90 days in jail for assaulting Ward’s male friend. No other arrests were made. - (Black-on-white) |

Black man who killed white prostitute, spit on corpse pleads guilty GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The man police say strangled a woman and spit on her body after dumping it along Plaster Creek on the city's Southeast Side pleaded guilty to the August, 2013 slaying.. Today's surprise plea by Demarco Marquis Carnegie comes the same day his jury trial for open murder and armed robbery was to begin in Kent County Circuit Court. The 28-year-old Kentwood man faces life in prison when sentenced September 3. Because of the guilty plea, prosecutors will drop an armed robbery charge Carnegie faced for a gas station hold-up. Carnegie admitted to killing Marie Nettles a year ago this week and dumping her body along Plaster Creek. Investigators say he picked up Nettles, a prostitute, for sex the evening of Aug. 7. Her body was found about 7:45 a.m. the next day. Police say after having sex with Nettles, Carnegie strangled her and dragged her naked body along the trail, where it was found in undergrowth. Police found a shoe print and Carnegie's DNA on the woman's body, including a spit mark on her thigh. - (Black-on-white) |

(Demon spawn 'on pills') black boy, 12, charged in White 9-year-old’s murder - lured to park - stabbed in back repeatedly KENTWOOD, Mich. — As he sat in court, charged with stabbing a 9-year-old boy to death at a playground, 12-year-old Jamarion Lawhorn looked more like an 8-year-old. He is tiny, but he wore shackles on his hands and feet, as his mom put her hand on his shoulder. On Tuesday, Lawhorn became the youngest person ever charged with murder in Kent County history, and among the youngest ever in Michigan. He’s charged with open murder for the death of 9-year-old Michael “Conner” Verkerke. It was just Monday at the Pinebrook Village Mobile Home Park that Lawhorn asked three boys he didn’t know — including Conner — if they wanted to go play with him at the playground, the mother of one of those boys said. “There were three boys at that park, he picked a random one,” said Tiffany Armijo, whose 9-year-old son witnessed the stabbing of his best friend. Lawhorn pulled a knife out of the sand and started stabbing Conner in the back. Police said it was a kitchen knife and that Conner was stabbed repeatedly. “It was random, there was no reason, it wasn’t provoked, they weren’t fighting, there was no words exchanged, it was just malicious,” Armijo said. Conner reached his home and collapsed. Lawhorn ran to a nearby house and called 911 himself, said he had taken pills, had stabbed somebody and wanted to die. - (Black-on-white) |

Man’s Hi-Def Home Surveillance Helps Nab 5 Black Armed Robbers - that kidnapped a White woman MINNEAPOLIS — The chilling kidnapping and robbery of a young woman in Minneapolis was captured on high-definition surveillance cameras. It happened early last Tuesday morning in south Minneapolis. In the video, you can see a woman walking with two of the suspects down Lyndale Avenue. Look closely, and you can see she is in a headlock. The taller suspect is carrying her purse, and a closeup shows he reaches into his pocket and pulls out a handgun. At the moment we first see the 24-year-old woman, she had already been forced to walk for two blocks. At one point, a man emerges and appears to hand the suspects something. He is the alleged lookout. Moments later, we see the lookout cutting across a yard, which triggers a homeowner’s alarm. A car with two men is waiting in an alley. Its license plate is clearly captured. The woman is last seen with one suspect, who then makes her turn around before he runs to the car. The suspect holding the purse is smiling as he gets in, and they speed off. The video was captured by a surveillance system on the home of a 74-year-old 3M retiree who, for 20 years, has used cameras to keep his home and neighborhood safe. - (Black-on-white) |
