Witness: Little (Black Sambo) Told His Mom He Was Going To Go In Zoo’s Gorilla Enclosure CINCINNATI — Animal rights activists gathered Monday for a Memorial Day vigil for the gorilla killed at the Cincinnati Zoo after a 4-year-old boy slipped into an exhibit and a special zoo response team concluded his life was in danger. Anthony Seta of Cincinnati called the 17-year-old western lowland gorilla’s death “a senseless tragedy,” but said the purpose Monday wasn’t to point fingers but a tribute to the gorilla named Harambe. “People can shout at the parents and people can shout at the zoo,” Seta said. “The fact is that a gorilla that just celebrated his birthday has been killed.” The gorilla’s birthday was May 27, the day before he was shot. “I heard the exchange while I’m waiting. ‘I’m going to go in.’ ‘No, you’re not.’ ‘I’m going to go in.’ ‘No, you’re not.’ The mother turns around to her other children,” O’Connor said. The outrage against Gregg has also caused others who share her name to receive angry Facebook messages. One Cleveland mother named Michelle Gregg changed her Facebook profile photo to a picture that says, “This Michelle has never even been to the Cincinnati Zoo! Neither has my 5-year-old son!” |

Chainsaw-dismembered remains (of white female) found in acid-filled barrel - her black husband confessed to gruesome murder HOBE SOUND, Fla. -- Crime scene technicians unearthed partial remains believed to be a missing south Florida mother after her ex-husband, who is charged with her murder, led them to the place where he said he buried her in an acid-filled barrel in a shallow grave in the Hungryland Wildlife Management Area. The remains that are likely U.S. Air Force veteran Tricia Todd were located 19 miles away from her Hobe Sound home and just outside investigators' original search area, a 15-mile perimeter near Todd's home. "(The grave) is nothing more than a simple hole maybe three feet deep. The body was in a container," said Martin County Sheriff William D. Snyder at a press conference at the preserve on Thursday evening. Snyder said the body was mutilated and appeared to have been dismembered with a chainsaw. Snyder described the container as filled with fluid that a Haz-mat team on the scene believed to be acid and said DNA testing will confirm whether the remains are, indeed, those of Tricia Todd. On Wednesday, the Martin County Sheriff's Office announced that Todd's former husband, Steven Williams, confessed to her murder. In exchange for pleading no contest to second-degree murder and receiving a sentence of 35 years in a state prison, Williams agreed to lead them to the body, officials say. - (Black-on-white) |

(Black) Man arrested after (his white female) 'roommate's body found in trunk TAMPA - Hillsborough County deputies said they arrested a 44-year-old Tampa man Wednesday after finding the body of his roommate in his trunk. Col. Donna Lusczynski said deputies were sent to a home on Thrasher Drive after the homeowner, who rents out rooms to Kydel Weldon, 44, and Tina Ryan, 45, found blood throughout the house. When deputies arrived, Weldon and Ryan were missing. They eventually tracked Weldon down at a day labor business on Columbus Drive. "As a deputy was talking to Weldon, she observed what appeared to be blood on his hands. She also observed what appeared to be blood on his clothes and pants," Lusczynski said. Investigators said they also found a bloody knife. When they opened the trunk, the discovered Ryan's body. "The victim did suffer from blunt trauma to her head as well as multiple stab wounds to her upper body," Lusczynski said, adding it's unclear if Weldon was trying to get away. "He was parked there, sitting and talking, so I don't know that at that moment he was actively trying to get away, but it does appear as if he was trying to hide the crime." Detectives charged Kydel Weldon with second degree murder. - (Black-on-white) |
