torture charges filed in missing Nevada County man's (Burned

COUNTY, Calif. (KCRA) — Bones found in a burn pile on a Nevada
County property were identified as those of a missing 70-year-old
man, and a suspect was booked on torture and murder charges,
investigators said. Stanley Owen Norman,
of Lake of the Pines, was last seen during the early morning hours
of April 15 at a home in Grass Valley. Sean Danielle
Bryant, who was already in the Nevada County Jail since May 15
on charges of domestic violence and torture, was booked
Sunday evening on additional charges of murder and murder involving
torture in connection with Norman's death, according to the
sheriff's office. Bryant was identified early on as being with
Norman just before he disappeared. Detectives interviewed Bryant
several times, and he maintained that he and Norman were in Grass
Valley on the evening of April 14 and stayed up late, partying
through the early morning hours of April 15 at Bryant's

15-Year-Old Boy DORCHESTER
(CBS) — A math teacher at the Codman Academy Charter Public School
in Dorchester has been accused of trying to rape a teenager.
Alfred Johnson was arrested and charged with two counts of
indecent assault and battery and two counts of assault with intent
to rape a child. Police said Johnson met a
15-year-old boy at the Southern Baptist Church last December
and befriended him. At one point, the boy detailed to police that
Johnson took him to the Academy and showed him pornography on his
laptop. Johnson had also tried, at least once, to force the boy to
perform a sex act. Court documents stated, when Johnson had taken
the boy to the Franklin Field Golf Course parking lot, he “grabbed
the victim by the back of his neck and forced his head down onto
his groin.” Johnson then hit the boy in the chest when he
refused. |

upstate New York teen was indicted for allegedly killing his
girlfriend inside an acquaintance’s house, then leaving her body on
the driveway. Jermaine Brown, 17, was charged Wednesday by a
Monroe County jury with manslaughter, aggravated criminal contempt
and criminal possession of a weapon, news station WHAM reported.
Brown is accused of shooting 18-year-old girlfriend Ciara
Grimes to death May 9 at a Rochester home just four days after
she was granted an order of protection against him. Police
said Brown then dragged the Grimes outside and left her in the
driveway of the residence. |

2017 crime in which a woman was
stabbed 19 times in Atlantic City before escaping
from a moving car in Ventnor, Atlantic County Prosecutor Damon Tyner
said.David Legette, 54, of Bristol Township, Pennsylvania, pleaded guilty to one count of attempted murder. On July 2, Legette met with an unidentified Pennsylvania woman who had an active restraining order against him, according to a release from the Prosecutor’s Office. At 10 p.m., Legette and the woman were in the Caesars Atlantic City parking garage when he pulled a knife and stabbed her 19 times, the release said. Legette then child-locked the car doors so she could not escape. |

N.J. (CBS) — New Jersey State Police is looking for a man who
allegedly abducted his young son and punched the child’s mother in
the face on Wednesday morning. Police say 30-year-old George
Berry arrived at the Paterson residence of his child’s mother
in violation of a domestic violence restraining order, kicked in the
front door and punched her in the face around 7 a.m. Police say
Berry then took 10-month-old Reign
Berry and fled in a silver Chrysler Town and
Country. An Amber Alert was initially issued, but the child was
located safely. Police are still searching for Berry. |

Bernardino Pimp Sentenced to 10 Years for Sex Trafficking of
19-Year-Old

man has been sentenced to 10 years in state prison after being
convicted of sex trafficking a 19-year-old woman, the San Bernardino
County District Attorney’s Office announced Tuesday. David
Williams physically abused the teen and “deprived her of her
liberty for the purpose of pimping and pandering,” the DA’s office
said in a news release citing police findings. He pleaded guilty to
three felony counts— human trafficking, pimping and pandering — on
May 24. The victim was found by authorities through an escort
advertisement they initially believed was showing a minor. After
contacting the listing, they learned she was an adult. |

exposed himself to pregnant women on Brown Line, police say CHICAGO
— A man exposed himself to pregnant women on the Brown Line at least
twice this month, police said Thursday. The first incident happened
about 3:15 p.m. May 8 in the 1800 block of West Montrose Avenue near
the Montrose CTA Brown Line stop, according to a community alert.
The second occurred about 3:10 p.m. May 10 in the 3400 block of
North Southport Avenue near the Southport stop. In each incident,
the man sat down near a pregnant woman and began to masturbate. The
women then left the train. Police described the suspect as a
black man in his 40s who is roughly 6-feet tall with a medium
complexion. |

Ala. (WIAT) - Tuscaloosa Police have taken a man into custody for
allegedly sexually abusing a child, according to a release from the
department. TPD's Juvenile Division was informed of a possible
sexual abuse case involving an
8-year-old on Friday, according to the release. The
suspect, 67-year-old James Don Edwards, was taken into
custody shortly after the complaint was made. Edwards was
arrested on a charge of Sexual Abuse of a Child less than
12-years-old and transported to Tuscaloosa County Jail where he was
held on a $30,000 bond. |

A twice-deported illegal immigrant from Mexico was being held
Tuesday in the disappearance of a 14-month-old boy who became the
subject of an Amber Alert last week after his mother was found dead
upstate. Evarardo Donoteo-Reyes, 25, is currently
charged with tampering with evidence, but prosecutors expect to file
more charges against him once cops determine how his 18-year-old
girlfriend, Selena Hidalgo-Calderon,
was killed. The young woman’s son, Owen
Hidalgo-Calderon, is feared dead following an extensive
search of the couple’s home in Wayne County and surrounding areas.
The toddler was reported missing on May 23 after his mom’s body was

MI - Surveillance video shows Willie Bryant Jr., armed with
a handgun, confront workers at a Marathon gas station before
shooting and killing the clerk, police said in court records. Both
Bryant, 33, and the alleged getaway driver, Gary Bryant, 58,
admitted to police they were at the gas station. Police have heard
conflicting statements about their relationship. Willie Bryant Sr.,
the suspect's father, said Gary Bryant is the father's cousin.

Canada: White man shot dead by black in Toronto  
Police have identified a 37-year-old Toronto man as the victim of a
deadly shooting in Toronto's Yorkville neighbourhood overnight.
Gunshots rang out near Yorkville Avenue and Bay Street at around
11:30 p.m. Police told CP24 that when officers arrived on scene,
they located a man, who has now been identified as 37-year-old Matthew
Staikos, suffering from gunshot wounds. Staikos was
pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators say the gunman fled the
area in what has been described as a silver or grey four-door
Mercedes. The suspect vehicle was last seen heading southbound on
Bay Street. The suspect has been described by police as a black
male with a medium build who is approximately five-foot-ten.

Dothan man who pleaded guilty to domestic abuse in 2006 now faces a
murder charge for allegedly beating the same woman to death Thursday
night. Antonio Perez Jackson, 35, was arrested and
charged in connection with the death of his girlfriend Brandy
Lee Mancil, 36. “We are still waiting on results that
will list all the injuries of the victim,” said Dothan Police Lt.
Lynn Watkins. “Right now, I can say she was severely beaten during a
domestic altercation between her and her live-in boyfriend."
Officers responded to the 1200 block of Burbank Street Thursday
evening in response to a medical emergency, Watkins said. Officers
arrived at the scene to find Mancil inside the residence suffering
from life-threatening injuries. She was transported by emergency
personnel to Flowers Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

corrections officer at a detention center for juvenile inmates in
Orange County was arrested Monday, accused of raping a girl at the
facility the night before, an arrest report shows. The report said
26-year-old Marcus Leon James forced himself on the 17-year-old
girl inside an office at the Orange Regional
Juvenile Detention Center on Bumby Avenue about 11 p.m. Sunday.
After the attack, the girl told investigators James told her not to
tell anyone or she would “never see the daylight again,” the report
said. According to investigators, the girl said she and another
inmate were cleaning several areas near the facility’s intake area
at James’ direction, when he ordered her to go into the office by
herself. |

COUNTY, GA (CBS46) - A man suspected in multiple rape cases in
Clayton and Fulton counties is in custody after he was arrested on
Memorial Day. Jamario Pollard is suspected of raping and
robbing a woman at the Arrowhead Shopping Center on Tara Boulevard
last year. Police say he pulled the victim into the woods behind the
shopping center and forced her to undress. He allegedly raped her on
the ground before taking $300 from the woman's purse. Police say
Pollard is also a suspect in two other rapes in Fulton County. A
warrant was obtained and Pollard was taken into custody on Monday.
He's currently in the Clayton County Jail. |

COUNTY • COCOA, FLORIDA – Cocoa Police say they have arrested a man
‘with a lengthy criminal history’ and charged him with second-degree
murder after witnesses held the suspect up at gunpoint on Friday,
shortly after he allegedly killed the victim, until police arrived.
The suspect has been identified as 40-year-old Terrance Skinner.The white male victim has been identified as 67-year-old Wayne Severance. The incident took place at a homeless camp on Friday north of the Walmart in Cocoa off Clearlake Rd., according to Cocoa Police. “He (Skinner) was being held at gunpoint by witnesses, one of which ran to the nearby Walmart to flag down a pair of Brevard County Sheriff’s deputies who were in the area,” said Yvonne Martinez of the Cocoa Police Department. “The investigation has revealed the victim’s identity as 67-year-old Wayne Severance, who was in the tent with permission from the owner and let him stay to prevent people from entering and stealing personal property.” - (Black-on-white) |

a failed suicide attempt the day after Ashton’s body was found in a

mother's 2014 disappearance pleaded guilty Friday to burning down
their home days after she vanished. 31-year-old Kyle Crozier
pleaded guilty to arson and conspiracy to commit arson Friday in
Worcester Superior Court. Prosecutors said Crozier admitted to being
with Sabrina Hatheway in the early hours
of Dec. 21, 2014. When he woke up, Crozier told investigators
Hatheway was gone. She was never seen again. Days after she

Folcroft Police officer who survived a shooting two years ago opened
fire at a murder suspect who was aiming a gun at him, investigators
said. The ordeal began around 4:30 p.m. on the 500 block of Central
Avenue in Chester when Vincent Franklin,
36, was shot and killed. "He didn't deserve to be gunned down
like that in front of our home," Franklin's mother Angela Vines told
NBC10. Police later released a surveillance photo of the suspect in Franklin's murder. About an hour after Franklin's death, police tried to pull over an SUV with New York tags on the 1100 block of Taylor Drive in Folcroft. Investigators believed at least one of the suspects in Franklin's death was inside the vehicle. Two men inside the SUV then allegedly fled the scene on foot and Folcroft Officer Chris Dorman pursued. One of the suspects then aimed his gun at Officer Dorman, police said. Dorman then fired two shots at the suspect.
